Letter to your father asking him to send some money to buy books. April 10, 2021 Mirpur, Dhaka Dear Father, I hope you are doing well and staying healthy. I, too, am doing well here. As you are well aware, my academic pursuits are of utmost importance to me. With my examinations fast approaching, I have directed all my attention and energy towards my studies. I am performing well in all my subjects and keeping up with my classes and homework on a regular basis. However, for the upcoming academic session, my teacher has suggested several books that are necessary for my studies. While I was able to procure some of these books from the library, there are a few that are not available there. As a result, I must purchase them on my own. The books I require are Oxford Dictionary, Atlas, and an English composition book. Unfortunately, I do not have sufficient funds to acquire them. Therefore, I kindly request that you send me 1,000 taka by money order at your earliest convenience so that I may purchase the books without any further delay. Rest assured that with your support, I will continue to give my best in my academic endeavors and strive to excel in my exams. Please convey my regards to mother and give my love to Nodi. With love and affection, Riyad Write a letter to your father informing him of your illness and asking for an amount of money for your treatment. 15th January, 2024 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Father, I hope this letter finds you and mother in good health. I regret to inform you that I have been experiencing severe gastric pain for the past two weeks. Along with this discomfort, I frequently feel nauseous, and I've been suffering from headaches almost daily. Consequently, I find it challenging to focus on my studies and attend classes regularly. Additionally, my appetite has decreased, leading to weight loss and a significant decline in my overall strength. Given the severity of my symptoms, I believe it's imperative that I seek medical attention and adhere to a proper treatment regimen. Therefore, I kindly request your assistance in providing me with an amount of Tk. 1000 (one thousand taka) to cover the expenses for my treatment. Please rest assured that I am taking the necessary steps to address my health concerns. I humbly ask for your prayers and support during this time, hoping for a speedy recovery. Sending my best regards to you and mother. Your letter of the 3rd of this month brought me great comfort, and your kind words have strengthened my resolve to continue working hard in my studies. I have some good news to share with you. The results of my Second Terminal Examination were published recently, and I am pleased to inform you that I secured the first position. This success has filled me with great pride and motivates me to maintain this level of performance in the future. In the meantime, I have purchased the books that the Board has prescribed for our course. However, after discussing with my teachers, they suggested a few additional books that they believe will be immensely helpful in strengthening my understanding of the subjects. These books are essential for my preparation, and I would like to buy them. The total cost for these extra books is around 800 Taka. As you know, winter is now in full swing, and the cold weather has started affecting my daily routine. I realized that I need some warm clothes to stay comfortable and healthy. In addition, a new pair of keds would be very helpful for my daily activities, as the current ones are worn out. For these essentials, I will need at least 2500 Taka. I would appreciate it if you could send the money a little earlier, as I need to make these payments promptly. On a positive note, my studies are progressing well. I managed to secure a distinction in my last semester and am aiming for a CGPA of 4 or above this semester. I really miss you all, and I can't wait to visit once my exams are over. - Listing Paragraph
Listing Paragraph How to Write a Listing Paragraph A listing paragraph is a type of paragraph where multiple points are presented in an organized manner, typically in a list format. This method is effective for explaining various aspects, reasons, benefits, or drawbacks related to a topic. Below is an extensive guide to writing a strong listing paragraph, using the topic "The Uses and Abuses of the Internet" as an example. 1. Understand the Purpose of a Listing Paragraph Purpose: A listing paragraph aims to present multiple ideas clearly and systematically. It is often used in essays, examinations, and reports. Key Features: Contains a topic sentence introducing the main idea. Includes multiple points, each elaborated with evidence or examples. May use bullet points, numbers, or linking words for organization. 2. Plan Your Paragraph Choose a Clear Topic: Identify the focus of your paragraph. Brainstorm Points: List all the points you want to include. For instance: Uses of the Internet: Information access, communication, online education, entertainment, e-commerce. Abuses of the Internet: Cyberbullying, addiction, misinformation, privacy breaches, illegal activities. Organize Logically: Arrange your points in a logical sequence—e.g., from most to least important. 3. Structure of a Listing Paragraph A listing paragraph typically follows this structure: a. Topic Sentence Introduces the main idea of the paragraph. Clearly states that multiple points will be discussed. Example: The internet offers numerous benefits, but it also comes with significant drawbacks that cannot be ignored. b. Body Present each point clearly and concisely. Use linking words or phrases to connect the points. Provide examples or explanations for each point. Linking Words for Listing: To introduce points: Firstly, secondly, in addition, moreover, another, finally. To contrast: However, on the other hand, although. Example Points: Uses of the Internet: Access to Information: The internet is a vast repository of knowledge, enabling users to find information on virtually any topic. For example, students can use online resources to research assignments and projects. Communication: With tools like email, social media, and video conferencing, the internet has revolutionized how people connect globally, fostering collaboration and maintaining relationships. Online Education: Platforms like Coursera and Khan Academy provide access to quality education, helping learners worldwide acquire new skills. Abuses of the Internet: Cyberbullying: Social media platforms often become breeding grounds for harassment and bullying, negatively impacting mental health. Addiction: Excessive use of the internet, especially for gaming and social media, can lead to addiction, disrupting daily routines. Misinformation: The internet spreads fake news and false information quickly, creating confusion and mistrust. Privacy Breaches: Hackers and malicious software can compromise personal information, leading to identity theft and fraud. Illegal Activities: The dark web facilitates illegal activities, including drug trafficking and cybercrime. c. Conclusion Summarize the points discussed. Reinforce the main idea of the paragraph. Example Conclusion: In summary, the internet is a powerful tool with diverse uses, from education to entertainment. However, its potential for misuse highlights the importance of responsible usage and effective regulation. 4. Use Examples and Details Each point should be supported by specific examples or evidence. Avoid vague or general statements. Example: Instead of writing: "The internet is good for education," write: "Online platforms like Coursera and Khan Academy allow students to access courses from top universities, making education more accessible." 5. Language Tips for Listing Paragraphs Use parallel structure: Ensure each point follows a similar grammatical structure. Keep sentences concise: Avoid overly long or complex sentences. Vary sentence starters: Prevent monotony by using diverse linking words. 6. Sample Listing Paragraph Question: Discuss the uses and abuses of the internet. Paragraph: The internet is a double-edged sword, offering countless benefits while posing significant challenges. Firstly, it provides easy access to information, enabling users to research and stay updated on any topic. Students, for instance, rely on online platforms like Google Scholar to complete assignments. Secondly, the internet facilitates global communication through tools like email and video calls, fostering connections across borders. Additionally, online education platforms such as Coursera allow learners worldwide to gain new skills. For entertainment, services like Netflix offer endless movies and shows. Moreover, e-commerce platforms like Amazon simplify shopping, saving time and effort. However, the internet has its downsides. Cyberbullying on social media can severely harm mental health, and excessive screen time often leads to addiction, disrupting daily life. Misinformation spreads rapidly online, confusing users and leading to poor decision-making. Privacy breaches, such as data theft, are also a common concern, while illegal activities like cybercrime thrive on the dark web. In conclusion, while the internet serves as an invaluable resource for education, communication, and entertainment, its potential for misuse demands responsible behavior and effective regulation. 7. Checklist for a Strong Listing Paragraph Is the topic sentence clear and relevant? Are the points logically organized and well-developed? Have you used linking words appropriately? Are the examples specific and detailed? Is the paragraph free from grammatical and spelling errors? By following these steps and practicing regularly, you can write effective and impactful listing paragraphs suitable for any examination or academic purpose. - Describing your visit to a book fair. (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to your younger sister describing your visit to a book fair. April 10, 2021 Mirpur, Dhaka Dear sister, I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. Your inquiry about my visit to the book fair has prompted me to share with you the details of my experience. The book fair I had the privilege of attending was organized on the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the 21st of February, at the prestigious Bangla Academy. As expected, the fair drew a large number of visitors, all with a passion for literature and knowledge. The fair boasted a wide variety of books on a range of subjects, including science, commerce, philosophy, religion, and general knowledge. It was a joy to be among so many books, as you know how much I cherish them, as they offer guidance and comfort. I made sure to explore most of the book stalls, and ended up purchasing a book titled "Our Liberation War," published by Kazal Brothers Ltd. However, the prices of books these days are quite steep, and I regretted not having more funds to acquire more. Nevertheless, I am already eagerly looking forward to the next year's book fair. After spending the entire day surrounded by books, we returned home in the evening, but my excitement lingered. I only wish you were there to share the experience with me. Please extend my warm regards to our parents. With love and affection, Sudha Write a letter to your friend describing him/her about your visit to a book fair held in our town. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rifat How are you? Hope well by the grace of almighty Allah. I am okay. A few days ago I visited a book fair held in our town. Today I am going to tell you about this. The venue of the fair was the Public library premise. Many pavilions were set up. All sorts of books such as, fictions, text-books, dramas, children books, reference books etc were displayed. The stalls were decorated tastefully and thus the attraction of the customers was drawn. There were also food and drink stalls. Thousands of people came to the fair and bought books according to their choice. The place was fully packed at the evening when several writes visited the fair. I think this book fair has created a taste and eagerness for reading to many people of our town. It also bears the testimony of the refined taste and national culture of a country. No more today, convey my best regards to your parents. Your friend, Jamal Write a letter to your friend describing your experience about your recent visit to a book fair. February 28, 2021 Dear Nepa, I got your nice letter yesterday. Thank you very much for it. I hope you're doing well with your studies. I'm doing fine too. You asked about my visit to a book fair, so I'll tell you about it now. Nowadays, many people who like to learn enjoy reading, writing, and buying books to learn more. Having good knowledge is important for facing life's challenges. I really like learning new things, so I enjoy going to book fairs. Every year, there's a book fair in almost every town and city in February. I went to the last Ekushey Boi Mela at the Bangla Academy with my older brother, who teaches Bangla at our college. There were lots of book stalls all nicely set up in rows. I walked around the whole fairgrounds. It was a big gathering of people who love books and reading. I saw many students my age reading and buying books. I also went to a seminar where publishers, writers, poets, and scholars talked. I bought some useful books about the English language and computer science. Going to a book fair is really educational. It helps encourage people to read, write, and buy books. I think every student and educated person should go to a book fair to learn more and break the routine of everyday life. That's all for now. Best wishes to you. A letter to your friend describing an accident you witnessed April 10, 2021 Mirpur, Dhaka My dear Suman Peace be on you through the mercy of Almighty. At the very outset take my cordial love and best wishes. It is a matter of great pleasure for me that I could receive your letter. Day before yesterday a terrible accident took place just before my eyes. It occurred in front of Dhaka College. I was going to the New Market. When I reached the college gate, suddenly I heard a scream of a boy. I found that a boy, who was crossing the Mirpur Road, was run over by a speedy truck. When the truck was a few feet away from him, the boy got puzzled and ran backwards and forwards. The driver tried desperately to hold the break but failed. The truck ran over the boy. He was crushed under the wheels of the truck and his body was changed into a lump of flesh. The truck was stopped. The passers-by crowded there. The boy was taken up from the pool of blood. A gentleman offered his car to carry the boy to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In the evening I came to know that the boy had breathed his last on way to the hospital, and I was greatly shocked at this. No more today. Convey my best regards and heartily complements to your parents. May all my cordial greetings be on your loving brother. Please pray for me and write to me how you are. My dear Mother, I know that you are still in anxiety to learn whether I have reached the hostel. Yes, I have reached but with a heavy heart. On the way our bus met a serious accident. I am giving you the idea of the accident that I have witnessed. I cannot still forget the pathetic accident that took place the other day. Our bus full of passengers was crossing the Nawabpur Rood at a high speed when a truck came up from opposite direction. In the meantime the truck could not control the speed and knocked our bus and it was a head-on-collision. A shout of alarm was heard instantly. There was a hue and cry. The front of the bus was crushed. The accident was dangerous. Many passengers were injured and some of them were fatally wounded. I was fortunate enough not to have been injured even slightly. At once the place became the spot of great noise. Ambulance and pedestrians became active to render help to the injured. Many of the wounded passengers were sent to the hospital. I felt very much nervous and shocked to experience the accident. I have been mentally upset for a few hours on account of this. I cannot eat, sleep or rest from then. I think I can overcome the situation soon. Don’t worry about me. This is all for today. Regards to you and father. Love to Sarah. The front of our bus bore the brunt of the collision, crushed under the force. The scene was distressing and dangerous. Many passengers sustained injuries, and tragically, some were fatally wounded. Miraculously, I emerged unscathed, spared from even the slightest injury. The aftermath was marked by a flurry of activity, with ambulances rushing to the scene and bystanders mobilizing to assist the injured. Several of the wounded were swiftly transported to the hospital for urgent care. I was left feeling deeply shaken and unnerved by the experience. Tragically, he was struck by the truck, and the callous driver didn't even stop to offer assistance. Reacting quickly, I rushed to the scene and found the boy lying in a pool of blood. Without hesitation, I arranged for a taxi and took him to Sadar Hospital. The medical staff at the hospital were swift and attentive, providing him with the necessary treatment. Thankfully, after five hours, he regained consciousness. The boy's parents were notified of the accident, and upon their arrival at the hospital, they expressed their gratitude for my assistance. They prayed for my success and well-being. Unfortunately, road accidents have become all too common due to reckless and careless driving. However, I believe that with increased public awareness and strict enforcement of traffic regulations, such incidents can be reduced. That's all for today. Sending you my best wishes, Yours ever, Hasan Write a letter to your friend describing a street accident. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rony, It is with a sad heart I am writing you this letter. Yesterday I witnessed a serious street accident. The horror of the accident still haunts my mind and I want to relieve it by writing to you. Yesterday I was going to the house of one of my friends. His house is near the Dewanhat point. I saw some children there. Most of them were crippled. They were begging from the passengers of the vehicles which stopped at the junction when the red signal was on. The victim of the accident was one of the crippled children. A person from a running car threw a coin outside, which dropped on the middle of the road. The vehicles were running at high speed. But one of the children rushed to the middle of the road to collect the coin. It seemed that the poor boy had gone mad at the sight of the coin. In no time a lorry ran over him. The boy became a lump of flesh and blood. Everybody rushed to the site of the accident. The accident was very pathetic. After witnessing it, I had no intention to go to my friend. I returned home with a heavy heart. I felt sick at the sight of blood. My sleep was disturbed at night. Please pray for my tormented soul. With love and best wishes. Yours ever, Saima Write a letter to your friend describing an accident / bus accident. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rifat, I received your letter yesterday. I shall give you a pen picture of a street accident that I have witnessed. I cannot still forget the pathetic accident that took place the other day. A public bus full of passengers was crossing the Nawabpur Rood at a high speed when a truck came up from opposite direction. In the meantime the truck could not control the speed and knocked the bus and it was a head-on-collision. A shout of alarm was heard instantly. There was a hue and cry. The front of the bus was crushed. The accident was dangerous. Many passengers were injured some of them were fatally wounded. At once the place became the spot of great noise. Ambulance and pedestrians became active to render help to the injured. Many of the wounded passengers were sent to the hospital. I felt very much nervous and shocked to see the accident. I am mentally upset for some days on account of this. I cannot eat, sleep or rest form then. This is all for today. More when we meet. Dear ‘Minhad’, Today I have come to know that you have been taken to hospital as a result of an accident on the street. This news has come to me as a bolt from the blue. The feeling of your accident troubles me very much. I wonder as to how this accident could occur! So far as I have learnt, you were just crossing the Station Road and all on a sudden you were run over by a car. Fortunately you escaped death. Perhaps, you can’t imagine the situation now. Two passers-by have taken you to hospital and now you are in sick bed in hospital. This is our life! At any moment, we may perish. However, you should not be anxious. I shall call at your room soon. Please take medicine and necessary treatment as per doctor’s advice. With the best wishes. - Describing the experience of a train Journey / Plane Journey / Boat Journey/ journey you have enjoyed (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
A letter describing the experience of a train journey you have enjoyed April 10, 2021 Mirpur, Dhaka Dear [Recipient], I am writing to share with you the incredible train journey that I had with my parents recently. It was a thrilling experience that I will never forget. We were on our way to attend the marriage ceremony of my cousin in Chittagong, and we decided to travel by train. We arrived at Kamlapur Railway station early in the morning, and it was bustling with people. After buying our tickets, we finally got onto the train and found our seats next to the window. As the train began to move, we passed through many beautiful sights. We saw hills, mountains, green fields, and clear waters. We could see women and children swimming happily in the ponds and rivers along the way. The scenery was breathtaking and offered us a unique view of the countryside. During the journey, we played games, shared jokes, and enjoyed some delicious snacks. The train was an express one and only stopped at a few big stations. We were delighted to reach Chittagong at 4 p.m. After reaching Chittagong, we found my uncle waiting for us at the station. He warmly welcomed us and took us to his residence. Overall, the train journey was an unforgettable experience. We got to witness the beauty of nature, relax and have fun at the same time. I would highly recommend traveling by train to anyone who wants to have a unique and enriching experience. Sincerely, [Your Name] Imagine you have got a chance to fly either a wide-bodied passenger plane or helicopter. It is half an hour's free ride. Write a letter to your friend telling him/her about the journey. 4th January, 2022 18, Circular Road, Agrabad, Chittagong My dear Farnaz, Thank you so much for your letter. I'm delighted to hear that everyone is doing well. Your account of your air travel experience was truly captivating and exhilarating. I'm writing to share my plan to take a trip on a passenger plane. Quite unexpectedly, I won a lottery from the Red Crescent. Winning that money brought me immense joy and has given me the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary half-hour ride in either a passenger plane or a helicopter. I'm leaning towards the passenger plane for a few specific reasons. Firstly, a passenger plane offers amenities and comforts that a helicopter simply can't match. Additionally, it provides a more secure, enjoyable, charming, and comfortable journey. It can also fly at much higher altitudes, covering several kilometers above ground, a feat that a helicopter cannot achieve. Although a passenger plane is larger in size compared to a helicopter, it can travel much faster. Given these factors, I'm inclined to choose a passenger plane for my ride. I value the safety, comfort, and overall experience it offers. I would love to hear your thoughts on my decision. That's all for today. Please write back soon. Best wishes, Yours always, Ovi Write a letter to your friend describing him/her about your experience of a river journey/ boat journey. 5th January, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Bulbul, I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and spirits. Thank you for your recent note; it brought a smile to my face. I'm glad to hear that you're doing well. Allow me to share with you the delightful experience of my recent boat journey. After our 2nd Terminal exams concluded last week, some of my classmates and I decided to embark on a river journey from Ashugonj to Nabinagar by boat. We gathered at the Meghna ghat last Friday at 8 am and hired a new boat for our adventure. The weather was splendid with clear skies overhead. With two young boatmen guiding us, we set sail, equipped with cooked food, fruits, bread, biscuits, and tea. As our journey commenced, the boat glided smoothly along the river. Along the way, we were treated to captivating sights of people bathing, fishing, and carrying out their daily chores along the riverbanks. The bustling activity of boats and small launches added to the charm of the journey. The soothing sound of the river accompanied us throughout the trip, adding to the tranquility of the experience. After three hours, we reached Nabinagar, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated by the journey. Indeed, a river journey offers a unique blend of enjoyment and comfort unmatched by any other form of travel. It not only provides a welcome break from the rigors of daily life but also enriches our understanding of the world around us. I believe that every student should undertake a river journey annually as part of their education. It not only breaks the monotony but also broadens our horizons and provides invaluable experiences. I trust you enjoyed hearing about my adventure. Wishing you all the best until we meet again. Warm regards, Masum. Write a letter to your friend describing a train journey. 5th January, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Abir, Thank you for your recent kind note dated the 2nd instant. I'm pleased to share with you the details of my recent journey from Chittagong to Dhaka by train. The journey commenced on a Monday, with two of my friends accompanying me to Chittagong Railway Station. As passengers of the 1st Class compartment, we were afforded a comfortable travel experience. The train departed promptly, and we were soon on our way. The initial leg of the journey took us to Laksam Junction, which we reached in no time. From there, the train continued its journey towards Dhaka. As we traveled, the scenery outside passed by in a blur—trees, houses, and way-side bridges seeming to whisk by at a rapid pace, akin to the flight of fairies or witches. Our next notable stop was Bhairab, where the sight of the bridge invoked a mix of awe and trepidation within me. Despite the train's speed, the surroundings remained a blur, with mills and factories appearing to race past us on either side of the railway lines. By 5 p.m., we had finally arrived in Dhaka, marking the end of our long train journey. I trust this account provides you with an insight into my travels. Please convey my warm regards to your family. With affection and best wishes, Karim Write a letter to your friend telling him/her describing about my recent journey by air. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My Dear Arif, Your letter has timely reached my hand. You have wanted to know about my recent journey by air. But Arif, you know how exciting the journey was! You know my paternal uncle had invited our family to Calcutta. He resides and works over there. My uncle had confirmed our air ticket before. So, it was easy for us to avail of the opportunity. Okay, here the description of journey is. On the scheduled day I along with my parents arrived at the airport in time. Then we were checked in and waited in the lounge. Next we were given boarding cards on which the number of our seat were written. After sometime the departure of the flight was announced. Then after, we boarded on the plane. When all the passengers were in, the door was closed. Next, we all the passengers had to fasten our seat belts. We were also informed what to do in case of an emergency. After that the plane took off smoothly. During the journey, the captain welcomed us and we were offered newspaper and different types of squash. We enjoyed all of these things. We also enjoyed the sight of whatever we could see around the plane. After about forty minutes the journey came to an end. Our plane landed down smoothly at the DumDum Airport. At the lounge we found my uncle waiting to receive me. Then we came outside of the airport and hired a taxi cab. Finally we reached the residence safely. The journey really left a deep impression on my mind. It will never efface from my memory. Hope this will find you in sound health. So no more worry about me. Regards to father and you. Yours ever, Tahseen Write a letter to your friend telling him/her describing about my recent journey by TRAIN. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Mahi’, I’ve not heard from you for a long time. Hope you are quite well by the grace of Allah. I’m also well. However, I had an enjoyable train journey last week. I like to tell you about it. My elder brother serves in an office at Sylhet. My parents told me to visit my brother. So, I with my two friends took a train journey to Sylhet. We bought our tickets to first class compartment. The station was much crowded. So, there was difficulty in getting on the train. When the guard blew whistle, the train started to move slowly. Within a few minutes, it began to move in full speed. I kept on looking outside through the window. It seemed to me that all fields, trees, houses were running backward. There were green fields on both the sides of the rail line. The crops were rocking with the gentle breeze. The train was hissing like a gigantic, python. We also enjoyed the mild jerking of the train and rhythmic sounds of the wheels. After long nine hours journey we reached our destination. We had an exciting and luxurious experience of train journey. The memory of this journey will remain ever green in my mind. No more today. My best regards to your parents and love to you all. Dear Abid, I trust this letter finds you in good spirits. I'm writing to share with you the recent boat journey I undertook from Mongla to Paikgachha. It was a memorable experience that I'd like to recount to you. Accompanied by two companions, we arranged for a sizable boat for our journey. The boatman and oarsmen, whose demeanor was warm and friendly, made our voyage all the more pleasant. With an early start to the day, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast before commencing our journey at 8 a.m. The weather was favorable, with clear skies and tranquil waters, making for an auspicious beginning. As we set sail, the boat glided smoothly through the river, propelled by the rhythmic strokes of the oarsmen. The river was teeming with life, offering us a picturesque panorama of scenes along its banks. We observed locals engaging in various activities - children frolicking in the water, fishermen skillfully casting their nets, and women gracefully fetching water. Around noon, we reached a bustling market where we anchored our boat and disembarked to satiate our hunger at a local restaurant. While we indulged in a satisfying lunch, the boatmen took a well-deserved break, replenishing their energy for the remainder of the journey. With renewed vigor, we resumed our voyage, eager to reach our destination before nightfall. As the sun began its descent in the late afternoon sky, we were treated to a breathtaking sunset, casting hues of orange and pink across the horizon. The tranquil ambiance of the river at dusk was truly mesmerizing as our boat gently glided through the water. Finally, under the cover of darkness, we arrived at Paikgachha, our journey's end. - About your aim in life (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
A letter to your friend informing about your aim in life April 10, 2024 Mirpur, Dhaka Dear Monir, I hope that you are in a state of good health and contentment. It is with great sincerity that I express to you my purpose and ambition in life. As with many individuals, I have thoroughly contemplated my life's aspirations and endeavors. Through my thoughtful introspection, I have realized that my ultimate aim is to become a teacher. My primary motivation stems from my desire to serve my nation and its youth in a selfless and modest capacity. My aspiration is not to attain riches or fame, for I have no attraction to the ostentatious lifestyle of a film star. Rather, I yearn to play a crucial role in eradicating illiteracy among nearly 40 percent of our population. I fervently believe that I can make a substantial contribution to society by becoming a teacher. Despite the low remuneration that often dissuades many from pursuing this profession, I remain unwavering in my commitment to become a teacher. Monetary compensation is not my ultimate goal in life, for I seek to become a guide, philosopher, and a genuine friend to my students. My goal is to enlighten my students by using education as a powerful tool to guide them toward enlightenment. It is my firm conviction that our country is presently beset by two critical issues: superstition and illiteracy. Consequently, I am imbued with the zeal of a missionary to become a teacher, so that I may educate others and positively impact society. I am resolved not only to impart subject knowledge to my students, but also to instill theoretical knowledge that can help shape their personal character. My aspiration is to instill in my students a deep-rooted sense of patriotism and nationalism, which will make them aware of their rights and responsibilities. Teaching is the ideal avenue to guide them towards the path of truth, thereby empowering them to lead virtuous and noble lives. In terms of my future plans, I aspire to pursue a career in education, striving to make a significant impact on society. I am committed to continuing my personal and professional development, so that I may make a meaningful contribution to my field of work. In conclusion, I hope that this letter has provided you with insight into my aspirations and my aim in life. Please do let me know about your future plans as well. - A letter to your friend telling him about your favorite game (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
A letter to your friend telling him about your favorite game April 10, 2021 Mirpur, Dhaka Dear Rohit, I express gratitude for your correspondence, which acquaints me with your predilection for sports. However, I must apprise you that my interests diverge from yours. While cricket may appeal to you, my fervor lies in football. As a game, cricket does not attract my attention due to its sluggish nature. It requires the investment of an entire day to fully relish the experience. Conversely, football enthralls both players and spectators alike, as it boasts an international fan base. This sport serves as an exceptional form of physical exercise, instilling strength and resilience within its players. Endurance and vigor are necessary to endure the demands of football, and it fosters discipline and obedience to its laws. Moreover, football inspires love, cooperation, teamwork, and sportsmanship in its players, while also promoting physical health. This game does not impose the same time constraints as cricket, and necessitates quick decision-making skills and a strong competitive drive. Whenever a football match airs, I am drawn to the screen, captivated from the onset until the end. I am a staunch supporter of the Argentine team, with their unmatched fighting spirit. Lionel Messi, in particular, is my favored player. Though our preferences differ, I do not hold this against you. Despite our contrasting opinions and choices, our bond remains unbreakable. Please extend my warm regards to your parents. Take care, Sakib A letter to your friend telling him about your favorite game April 10, 2021 Mirpur, Dhaka Dear Rohit, How are you? It’s been ages since we last caught up, and I’ve missed our long conversations. Recently, while playing my favorite game, I thought of you and decided to write about something that truly excites me—cricket! Cricket has been my favorite game since childhood. The thrill of watching a ball sail over the boundary or the sheer satisfaction of taking a wicket makes it a game like no other. I love playing as an all-rounder, contributing with both bat and ball. Scoring runs is exhilarating, but bowling a perfect delivery that stumps the batsman is equally rewarding. Every weekend, my friends and I gather in the nearby field to play cricket. It’s not just about the game; it’s about the camaraderie, the laughter, and sometimes the heated arguments over whether it was a six or caught on the boundary! Watching matches featuring players like Shakib Al Hasan inspires me to improve and fuels my love for the game even more. Cricket has taught me so much about discipline, teamwork, and resilience. It’s more than just a sport—it’s a way to connect with people and build unforgettable memories. What about you? Do you enjoy cricket or have another game you’re passionate about? That’s all for now. I hope we can catch up in person soon and maybe play a match together. Stay safe and take care. It is always a pleasure to hear from you, and I am glad to know that you had a wonderful time on your picnic. I am sorry I could not reply to your previous letters earlier as I was caught up with my studies and other commitments. Reading about your picnic brought back fond memories of our school days when we used to plan and go on trips together. I can imagine how exciting it must have been for you and your friends to explore the tea garden in Sylhet. It is always refreshing to spend time in nature and away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I am happy to know that the food was delicious and that you all enjoyed cooking together. It is always fun to cook with friends and experiment with new recipes. I am sure Rima did an excellent job as the head chef! I am also glad to know that you all enjoyed singing and dancing. Music has a way of bringing people together and creating a joyful atmosphere. I can imagine the fun you all had on the way back home as well. Please do convey my regards to your parents and give my compliments to your friends who went on the picnic with you. I hope we can plan a trip together soon and relive some of our old memories. Take care and keep in touch. Yours ever, Samir Write a letter to a friend describing experience in a picnic. 5th January, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rana, I hope this letter finds you well. I received your letter dated the 5th instant, where you expressed your regret at not being able to join us on the picnic. I understand, but let me share with you the wonderful experience we had during the outing. As planned, we chose Sonargaon as our picnic spot. Our group consisted of about thirty-five individuals, including one of our teachers. We set off early in the morning, reaching Sonargaon by bus around 9 a.m. We brought along all the necessary utensils and materials for the day. Upon arrival, we wasted no time and enjoyed a hearty breakfast by 9:30 a.m. Our designated cook got to work, and we all chipped in with various tasks. Some of us helped with cooking, while others engaged in singing, cracking jokes, and playing games. It was a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and camaraderie. By 2 p.m., the delicious lunch was ready, and we were all famished. We sat down together and savored our meal with great gusto. After lunch, we embarked on a sightseeing tour of Sonargaon. The historical significance of the place, being once the capital of Bengal, fascinated us all. The highlight of the trip was visiting the Sonargaon museum, where we learned about the rich history and culture of the region. As the day drew to a close, we reluctantly bid farewell to Sonargaon and headed back home around 5 p.m., after enjoying a refreshing cup of tea. The picnic was truly enjoyable, and the memories we created will be cherished forever. However, we couldn't help but feel your absence keenly. Your presence would have added to the joyous atmosphere. We missed you dearly throughout the day. I hope this description gives you a glimpse into the wonderful time we had. Looking forward to catching up with you soon. With warm regards and best wishes, Tahseen Imagine you and some of your friends took part in a picnic at a place of historical importance. You went round the place, had good food and had a lot of fun. Now, write a letter to your friend describing the picnic. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Mizan’, I am very glad to receive your letter. In your letter you wanted to know about our recent picnic. I am happy to let you know about that picnic. It was a school holiday. We were 55 in number. We arranged a picnic at Bagerhat. It is a historically important place. Five of our teachers accompanied us as our guide. We hired a bus and started for Bagerhat from our school campus early in the morning. We reached the mazar of Khan Zahan Ali before noon. On the east bank of the big tank we set up our camp. After having breakfast, we went to the mosque of sixty domes. There we paid respect to the departed soul of the Saint Khan Zahan Ali. Its architectural elegance impressed us all. After one hour we returned to our camp. Beside the camp we played games and had a lot of amusements. Then we hired a cook to cook delicious lunch. As we were very hungry, we ate our lunch to our heart’s content. Then we rested for sometime and went round to have a look at other important sights. At about 5 p.m. we set out for the school. On the way to school, we all sang and had jokes in the bus. After dusk we arrived at the school. It was a day to remember for a long time. But I regret I missed you. I am pretty well and hope that you are in good health. With love and best wishes. Ever yours, Fahim A letter to friend describing the picnic you attended 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear ‘Sohel’, I have received your letter of the 5th instant. Write a letter advising him/ her on how to adjust to the new place and food. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Habib, I received your recent letter two days ago. Going through the letter I came to know about your academic course. It gave me much pleasure that your name topped the score list of the last test. You have also mentioned some troubles that you are confronted with. I feel very sorry for that. As I know, you have been in England for last six months. So, it could be easier for you to adjust yourself with the mode of life there. However, you have told that the food items you have to take do not taste well. This happens because they mostly prefer boiled food as it is nutritious. They do not like much spicy or fried food for the food loses its nutritive elements in this way. Moreover, they rely on fruit juice and different types of vegetables which are essential for our body. I can understand that you miss the regular ‘bhat’, ‘roti’ or fried fish. But don’t worry. In a few days you have been accustomed to it and you will be healthier than before. Besides, you have also mentioned about your new place. Most of the time it is too cold for you to bear. In this regard, I can suggest you that you should follow the other English people for your protection from cold. Moreover, the loneliness makes you sometimes bored, as I feel. In that case, you should go through different kinds of books. You can also have some sort of recreations which may delight you. Sometimes, you can try to write something creative. By following all these things you can try to adjust yourself with the life of your new place and food. I think this can give you comfort to some extent. This is all for today. Hoping to hear from you more. With love. Yours ever, Hemel Think you have been staying in England for six months. You have faced a lot of problems regarding food and place. Your letter was full of advice. I try to follow all of your advice. Meanwhile for the past two days, I have been thinking more and more about home. You need not worry about me. I am trying to adjust here. Though at the beginning I faced some problems in taking meals, at present I have adapted myself to new types of food available here. The meals here are quite different from home. For lunch we usually start with soup. Then we have the main course -- a piece of meat or fish and potatoes. One can either have cabbage, carrots, beet root, sprouts, beans or cauliflower. Then come fruit --- apples, oranges, grapes and fruit-pie and other such staff. Finally come coffee or tea. You would be surprised how I get accustomed to coffee habit, after lunch and after dinner. No rice, I don’t miss it. There is no ‘roti’ either, but I don’t really miss it. One can have bread with one’s soup, or with the main course. My table manners have improved tremendously. So no more worry about me. Keep well. Regards to you and father. Love to Ryan. - Bad effects of junk food (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to your younger brother making him aware of the bad effects of taking junk food. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Nahid’, It is many days since I got any news from you. I am anxiously waiting to know about your studies and health. Today I am going to tell you something about the junk food you like to take much. Recently I have gone through a lesson about junk food in our text book. As soon as I have read the lesson, I think it would be wise to remind you about this. ‘Junk food’ is food that has been produced for its pungent taste rather than for its health value. Junk food is gaining popularity very rapidly amongst the youngsters. Very often, this junk food is prepared unhygienically, using contaminated water and cheap cooking oil. Fine flour which is used for preparing this food is both harmful for the digestive system and makes the body bulky. It has very little nutritive value. Further, it spoils the skin, leading to unsightly eruptions. It often contains added chemicals which make it taste soothing but are unhealthy. It usually contains a lot of animal fat or sugar. Foods like chips, burgers, crisps, cakes, biscuits, are high in animal fats. Sweets and fizzy drinks like cola and lemonade are high in sugar. When we eat a large amount of fat our bodies turn them into fatty issue, and a large amount of sugar can damage our teeth and skin. Junk food lacks the vitamins and minerals we need. All those who are health conscious should switch to fresh fruits and vegetables which contain all the nutrients in the right amount and are easy to digest. Hygienically prepared homemade food can be equally appetising. So, before you reach out for that mouth-watering junk food, you should restrain yourself and consider for a while the harmful effects of junk food. I hope you will follow my advice accordingly and get the best out of it. With best wishes. Yours affectionately, Navid Write a letter to your friend/younger brother telling him the danger/ curse/ bad effect of taking junk food. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Masud, Receiving your thoughtful note brought me great joy, and I am grateful for your kind words. I hope this letter finds you in good health and making progress with your studies, as I am here. I recently learned about your newfound preference for junk food over homemade meals, and I must admit, it concerns me deeply. While I understand the allure of junk food's flavors, it is essential to recognize the significant risks associated with consuming it regularly. Junk food lacks essential nutrients and is often high in unhealthy fats and sugars. Regular consumption of such food can lead to various health issues, including obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and dental problems. The excessive intake of sugar in junk food, in particular, can have severe consequences for both your physical and dental health. It is crucial to prioritize nutritious, homemade meals that provide your body with the essential nutrients it needs to function optimally. By avoiding junk food and opting for healthier alternatives, you can safeguard your health and well-being in the long run. I sincerely hope that you will heed my advice and make healthier food choices moving forward. Your health is invaluable, and it is essential to prioritize it above temporary cravings for junk food. Wishing you all the best, Shikder Write a letter to your younger brother making him aware of the bad effects of taking junk food. Dear Brother, I hope you are doing well. I’ve been thinking about something that I really want to share with you. I’ve noticed that you’ve been eating a lot of junk food lately, and I want to make you aware of the bad effects it can have on your health. While it might seem tempting to have chips, burgers, or sugary snacks because they taste good and are easy to find, they are not good for your body in the long run. Junk food is often high in unhealthy fats, sugar, and salt, which can lead to many health problems. Firstly, eating too much junk food can cause weight gain. These foods are often high in calories but lack the nutrients your body needs. As a result, if you eat them regularly without balancing your diet, you could end up putting on extra weight. Over time, this can lead to other issues like obesity, which increases the risk of serious health problems like diabetes, heart disease, and joint problems. Secondly, junk food is bad for your teeth. Foods like candies, chips, and sodas can cause cavities and tooth decay. The sugar in these snacks feeds the bacteria in your mouth, which can lead to tooth damage if not cleaned properly. Another concern is that junk food doesn’t provide the vitamins and minerals your body needs to stay strong and healthy. Without a balanced diet full of fruits, vegetables, and proteins, your immune system can weaken, leaving you more vulnerable to illnesses. Lastly, eating junk food too often can make you feel tired and sluggish. Instead of giving you energy, it can cause your blood sugar to spike and then crash, leaving you feeling exhausted and unproductive. I know it’s easy to reach for something quick and tasty, but I encourage you to eat healthier foods. Try swapping chips for fruits, or have a sandwich with vegetables instead of a burger. Drinking water or natural fruit juices instead of sugary sodas is also a great choice. I hope you understand why I’m telling you all this. Your health is really important, and making small changes now can help you stay fit and strong in the future. Take care, and I hope to see you making better choices with your food. - Baishakhi Mela (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to your friend describing your experience how you enjoyed last Baishakhi Mela. 5th January, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Rabbi, I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. Thank you for your kind letter; it brought me much joy. I'm glad to hear that you are well, and I'm also doing well myself. You expressed an interest in hearing about my experience at the last Baishakhi Mela, so I'll share it with you now. Every year, our college hosts a grand Baishakhi Mela, and this year was no exception. It was held on the last Pahela Baishakh, and it was a delightful event. Accompanied by my grandfather, I attended the Mela in the afternoon, dressed in traditional attire. As we entered the college campus, which is situated by the river Titas, we were greeted by rows of beautifully decorated shops and stalls. These stalls offered a variety of goods, including dolls, toys, handicrafts, inexpensive jewelry, cosmetics, sweets, cakes, and various handmade wooden items. The Mela attracted people of all ages, both men and women, and I had the pleasure of meeting many fellow students. Everyone seemed immersed in the festive atmosphere, either buying or selling items. I purchased some cosmetics for my younger sister and a wooden stick for my grandmother from the Mela. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed the doll dance performance, which was the main attraction of the event. Baishakhi Mela serves multiple purposes beyond mere entertainment. It helps break the monotony of daily life, dispels social superstitions, and contributes to the local economy. Furthermore, it fosters cultural exchange and serves as a source of enjoyment for all who attend. That's all for today. Sending my best wishes to you and your younger sibling. Yours ever, Zidhan Write a letter to your friend describing your experience how you enjoyed last Baishakhi Mela. My dear Arif, I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share with you my amazing experience of the last Baishakhi Mela, which was held recently in our town. It was one of the most vibrant and lively festivals I’ve ever experienced, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Baishakhi Mela, celebrating the Bengali New Year, was full of energy and excitement. As soon as I entered the venue, I was greeted by a sea of colorful decorations—bright red, yellow, and green balloons, ribbons, and traditional alpana (decorative designs) painted on the ground. The entire place was buzzing with joy and celebration. There were so many things to enjoy! The stalls offered a wide variety of items—handicrafts, traditional clothes, and jewelry. I couldn’t resist picking up a few beautiful handmade items. The food stalls were another highlight. From crispy samosas and chotpoti to sweets like roshogolla and mishti doi, the flavors of the festival were irresistible. I spent a lot of time enjoying the delicious food while chatting with friends. What I enjoyed most was the cultural performances. There were folk dances, baul songs, and dramas that showcased the richness of Bengali culture. The performances were so lively, and the crowd cheered enthusiastically. There was also a baul singer whose soulful voice resonated throughout the event, creating a magical atmosphere. The highlight of the day was the traditional mela games. There were tug-of-war contests, races, and even kabaddi, which were so much fun to watch. People of all ages participated, and it created a sense of unity and joy among everyone. The Baishakhi Mela was a perfect blend of tradition, culture, and fun. It was such a great way to celebrate the new year and connect with the community. I wish you could have been there to enjoy it with me. That’s all for now. I hope you’re doing well and look forward to hearing from you soon. - Movie / film you enjoyed (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Imagine you have recently enjoyed a Bangla feature film / movie. Write a letter to your friend expressing your opinion. 5th January, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Rifat, It's been quite a while since I last wrote to you, and for that, I must apologize. The demands of my exams kept me occupied, leaving little time for correspondence. However, now that my examinations are over, I finally have the opportunity to catch up with you. Last night, I had the pleasure of watching the film "Pather Panchali," and I simply had to share my thoughts with you. Adapted from the novel by Bibhuti Bhusan Bandopadhya and directed by the late Satyajit Ray, this film is truly a masterpiece in every sense of the word. The narrative revolves around a poor Brahmin family, comprising Harihar, his elderly sister Indira Thakrun, his wife Sarvajaya, and their children Durga and Apu. Despite their struggles for survival, the children, particularly Apu and Durga, exude a vibrant innocence as they immerse themselves in the wonders of nature. What struck me most about the film was its simplicity, yet profound impact. Satyajit Ray masterfully captured every nuance, ensuring that every detail felt authentic and true to life. The performances were so natural that it felt as though I was observing real-life events rather than a scripted film. The cinematography, locations, and overall production quality were impeccable, creating a timeless cinematic experience. I was particularly moved by the scenes depicting the poignant deaths of Durga and Indira Thakrun, which are among the most memorable moments ever captured on film. Furthermore, the music composed by Ravi Shankar added another layer of depth and emotion to the film, enhancing its overall impact. "Pather Panchali" not only provides insight into the lives of rural Bengal but also serves as a universal story that resonates with audiences worldwide. I highly recommend that you watch this remarkable film at your earliest convenience. I have no doubt that you will find it as captivating and thought-provoking as I did. That's all for today. Sending you warm regards and affection. Yours ever, Tahseen Write a letter to your friend telling him/ her about a recent movie that you had seen but why you did not enjoy it. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rifat Your sweet note is to my hand. It really gave me much pleasure when I came to know that you have recently had a study tour. Today I am writing to you about a film I have recently enjoyed. Two of my cousins have recently come to spend some days in our house with me, as their examination is over. We three planned to go to watch a movie named ‘Lukochuri’ at ‘Nupur’. Yesterday we went to watch the movie. The story was alright but the director could not express the main act properly. The actors seemed to be very shy in front of the camera and the right expression wasn’t just coming into the face. They looked as if they were just standing up and reading the dialogues. As my elder brother had appreciated that film, I became interested to watch the movie. But after watching it, I became disappointed. The main reason is that the movie I have watched was acted by the new artists. But what my elder brother watched was the old one in which the prominent artists performed. I hope that experience would make them brave. Then I may get the real interest in enjoying the film. I do not know whether you have seen the movie. If you watch it, let me know about your opinion. This is all for today. With love. Yours ever, Tahseen Write a letter to a friend telling him / her about a recent movie that you have seen but why you did not enjoy it. April 10, 2021 Mirpur, Dhaka Dear Fatin Many days have passed since we wrote each other. Because of my examination I was very busy. I am sorry for that. Just after the examination I have had the scope of enjoying the film, ‘Devdas’ based on the famous novel of Sarat Chandra Chattapadhay. Today I am going to write about it. In this film, Devdas is the son of an affluent ‘zamindar’. Wealth and aristocracy dominates his existence. He falls in love with Parbati or Paru. However, the reverie is broken when his elders sent Devdas to London for education. When Devdas returned, Paru’s mother proposed to the family of Devdas about Paru’s marriage. But it was met with condescension. By that time Devdas realised that he was deeply in love with Paru. Heart-broken Paru entered into a chaste marriage with a wealthy, much older man, Zamindar Bhuvan. On the other hand Devdas shattered in mind, took refuge in anguish and alcohol. Then after Chunilal, a profligate friend of Devdas, introduced him to Chandramukhi. Devdas was intensely loved by two women, who were never meant to be his. One, whom he could never love and the other, whom he could never stop loving. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director of the film is a master craftsman and has a way with telling a story through celluloid. But you know that I could not enjoy the film very well. Of course, the reason is that the film does not conform exactly to the novel. The film has become so modernised and colourful that it does not represent resemblance to the then society of Bengal. As a Bengali, I desired to watch the film on the same context as it is in the novel. I feel that the originality is missing in the film, which has failed to fulfill my desire. This has made me think that it is humiliating to the writer of the novel. So, I am sorry to say that I could not enjoy the film from the core of my heart. This is all for today. Hope to hear from you regarding this. With love and best wishes. I recently received your letter, and I must say, we missed you greatly at my birthday party. Nevertheless, I'm excited to share with you how the day unfolded. In the morning, Raju and Sohel assisted me in decorating our house with colorful festoons and other decorative items. Meanwhile, Father had arranged for a beautiful birthday cake and surprised me with a new outfit for the occasion. By 5 o'clock in the evening, the much-awaited birthday cake arrived, and I had already dressed in my new attire. Mother had prepared an array of delicious dishes to delight our guests. As the clock struck 6, our guests began to arrive, and by 7, everyone had gathered. Amidst cheerful chatter, I lit the candles on the cake and joyfully cut it, amidst the applause of friends, family, and well-wishers. Following this, we enjoyed a hearty meal together, relishing the delicious food prepared by Mother. After the meal, we organized a short cultural program, which added to the festive atmosphere. As the evening drew to a close, our guests bid farewell, showering me with warm wishes for the year ahead. While the celebration was filled with joy and merriment, it was not quite the same without your presence. Your absence was keenly felt, and I couldn't help but imagine how much more enjoyable it would have been with you by our side. My dear Arif, In your last letter I have come to know the reason of your not attending my birthday party. We all missed you very much. However, you wanted to know how we passed the day. Now let me give you the brief about the party. On the day our house was decorated nicely with different festoons and other decorative things. Raju and Sohel helped me in this regard in the morning. Father had ordered a birthday cake before and bought me a new dress for the occasion. The birthday cake which was the main attraction of the party arrived by 5 o’clock. Meanwhile I had also put on my new dress. Mother prepared some delicious dishes. From 6 o’clock in the evening the guests started to come one after one. All the invited guests arrived. It was 7 o’clock. I lighted the candle, cut the cake chuckling merrily. Then the applause of friends, fans and well-wishers followed it. Next the prepared delicious food was served to the guests. Everybody fell to with a good deal of zest. Thereafter, all joining it felt interested to do something pleasant. So, a short cultural programme was arranged after the meal. Finally, the guests left wishing me many happy returns of the day. Thus the celebration of my birthday party came to an end with joy and merriment. - Traffic jam (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to a friend about the disobedience of traffic rules as one of the causes of traffic jam. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My Dear Rifat, Your sincere note is to hand. I am informed through your letter that you are going to participate in a seminar which will focus the subject of traffic jam. So you need some information about the causes of traffic jam. As I feel, the disobedience of traffic rules regarding this problem is one of the major causes of traffic jam. Okay, here is a brief about it. Traffic jam is a big hazard in modern cities. All important streets in a big city get filled up with all types of vehicles during the busy hours. The junctions of city roads turn into images of absurdity of modern transportation. Traffic jam occurs due to the lack of knowledge about the traffic rules on the part of the vehicle drivers. The tendency to overtake one another is in the blood of all drivers. Again, people also violate the traffic rules of the country. On the streets people do not follow the zebra-crossing at the time of crossing the road. While crossing, people do not see both sides of the road to pass through the zebra-crossing. There are lots of traffic signals over the main road. Whenever there is red signal, the transport must stop; when there is green signal, the transport will go ahead. After that at the time of driving one will find some signals in front of the schools where the speed of the car is limited and there is no sound of horns. But the ignorant drivers and careless passers-by ignore these traffic signals. This is all about the causes of traffic jam in brief. Hope to hear from you soon. With love and best wishes. Yours ever Tahseen About problem of traffic jam of Dhaka city 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Fuller Road Dhaka Dear Tahseen Hope things are moving well. I am also fine. In your previous letter you wrote the problem of traffic jam of Dhaka city.I have thought over the matter. Here I am suggesting solution to the problem of trafficjam-which has become unbearable to the residents of Dhaka city. Day by day the number of vehicles is increasing to meet the demand of the increased number of people. But the roads are not increasing in the same proportion. Many of these vehicles are unlicenc'ed. If the authority becomes more cautious about giving licence and punishing unlicensed drivers, the tide of the increasing vehicle, will decrease and thereby traffic jam will lessen. You know negligence to the traffic rules causes severe traffic jam. Many drivers do not obey the traffic rules. Besides, our traffic police are tot sincere. Our government should show more responsibility to solve this problem. Strict law should be imposed upon the dishonest traffic police. The drivers who do not obey traffic rules should be punished in such a way that none dare do this wrong again Besides, our traffic rules should be amended. The tendency to carry more and more passengers and to board and onboard passengers here and there also causes traffic jam. This problem, also can be solved by using strict law. The drivers* who stop their buses at any places other than bus stops should be punished severely. The licence of those buses also may be cancelled. Thereby traffic problem will be solved. I think these measure will go a long way to solve the problem of traffic jam of Dhaka city. No more today. Please convey my best regards to your parents and love to all juniors. Yours truly, Rifat About problem of traffic jam of Dhaka city 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Fuller Road Dhaka My dear Arif, I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to share with you a major issue we are currently facing in Dhaka—traffic congestion. As you might have heard, Dhaka has become one of the most congested cities in the world, and the daily traffic jams are really affecting people’s lives. The traffic situation has gotten worse over the years due to rapid urbanization and the growing number of vehicles on the roads. In the past, the roads could handle the traffic to some extent, but now they seem completely overloaded. The main roads are always clogged with cars, buses, rickshaws, and motorcycles, making it difficult to move around the city, especially during peak hours. It takes hours to travel even short distances, which wastes a lot of time. Another problem contributing to the traffic is the lack of efficient public transportation. Although there are buses and rickshaws, they are often overcrowded, unreliable, and slow. People prefer using their own cars or motorcycles, which adds to the problem. The ongoing construction of roads, flyovers, and metro rails has also led to more delays, with narrow lanes and many blocked sections of roads. The pollution caused by the traffic jams is another serious issue. The long hours of idling vehicles release a large amount of exhaust, making the air quality poor and causing health problems. People, especially children and the elderly, are suffering from respiratory issues due to the continuous exposure to this pollution. The traffic situation has not only made commuting stressful but has also affected the economy. Businesses face delays in deliveries and employees lose valuable work hours. The overall productivity of the city is being significantly reduced. I’m hoping the government will take more effective measures to address these problems, such as expanding public transportation, improving road infrastructure, and regulating the number of vehicles on the roads. Until then, we have to endure the daily hassle of commuting. How is the situation in your city? I would love to hear about it. - 21st February / International Mother Language Day this year (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to a mother how you celebrated/observed the 21st February / International Mother Language Day this year. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My Dear Mother, I have received your letter timely. Mum, today I am giving you a description of celebration of 21st February / International Mother Language Day this year. This year the programme arranged by our school authority was a grand one. Early in the morning many of the students gathered in the school compound. We, organised by our teachers made a rally towards the Saheed Minar. There we offered wreathes and bouquets. Then we came back to school ground. Before we had a plan to arrange a cultural function and accordingly we started it. Some girls inaugurated the programme by singing the song ‘Amar bhaiyer rakte rangano Ekushe February ...’. After that our honourable teacher, Mr. Hasan very beautifully narrated the history of the Language Movement Day. He also let us know the efforts and ultimate declaration of the International Mother Language Day. Mr. Nasiruddin, the Headmaster of our school discussed on the importance of the International Mother Language Day in the national life of Bangladesh. Then started the reciting competition composed by the young poets. The second part of the programme was arranged by different songs composed by the established poets and lyricists. The full audience made the pin-drop silence as some famous new and old singers were performing with superb melody. The third phase of the programme started with a one-act play. At the end it was greeted by an applause. Indeed the day was celebrated with due solemnity. This is all for today. Best regards to you and father. Love to Ryan. Your loving son, Tahseen Write a letter to a mother how you celebrated/observed the 21st February / International Mother Language Day this year. 5th January, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My Dearest Mother, I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and spirits. I am writing to share with you the wonderful celebration of the 21st of February, International Mother Language Day, that took place at our school this year. The festivities began early in the morning as students from all classes gathered in the school compound. Together with our teachers, we formed a vibrant rally that marched towards the Shaheed Minar. There, amidst a solemn atmosphere, we laid wreaths and offered bouquets in tribute to the language martyrs. The significance of the moment was not lost on any of us. Upon returning to the school grounds, we commenced a cultural program that had been meticulously planned. The event opened with a stirring rendition of "Amar bhaiyer rakte rangano Ekushe February..." by some of our talented classmates. Following this, our esteemed teacher, Mr. Hasan, eloquently narrated the history of the Language Movement Day and shed light on the global recognition of International Mother Language Day. Next, our beloved Headmaster, Mr. Nasiruddin, emphasized the importance of this day in the fabric of our nation's identity. The program continued with a recitation competition featuring compositions by young poets, which showcased the depth of our literary heritage. The second segment featured performances of songs penned by renowned poets and lyricists, accompanied by melodies that stirred our souls. The climax of the event was a captivating one-act play that left the audience spellbound. The actors delivered powerful performances that resonated with the spirit of the day, and the play received thunderous applause as it concluded. Overall, the day was marked with solemnity and reverence, paying homage to the sacrifices made for our mother language. It was a celebration that left a lasting impression on all who attended. With warmest regards to you and father, and give my love to Ryan. Your loving son, Tahseen Write a letter a pen friend describing your observance of ‘International Mother Language Day’. 5th January, 2022 Patherghata, Chittagong, Bangladesh. Dear Smith, Your sweet note has just anchored the shore of my heart. Meanwhile, you have come to know that the 21st February has been declared as the ‘International Mother Language Day’ by UNESCO. It is indeed a great pride for us, the Bangalees. The declaration by UNESCO has transformed a national event into an international one, and we, being the Bangladeshis, feel honoured and also consider it as a mark of great prestige. This year the nation celebrates the day in high esteem. The day has also been observed in our school with great enthusiasm. I am now going to write all about this. On the day an attractive function was observed in our school campus to mark this glorious recognition. The ‘Provat Feri’ (an act of singing awakening songs in procession through the streets of a town or village), waving of natural flag, placing floral wreathes at the ‘Saheed Minar’ (the memorial of the martyrs), discussion, poetry reciting and lyrical drama were the part of the programme. At 6 o’clock students gathered at the foot of the memorial with bouquet of flowers at hand. The Headmaster of the school hoisted the national flag. At 8 o’clock the discussion started and some of our honourable teachers took part in the discussion. The speakers hinted on the importance of the day and they emphasized its influence on our national life. Then started the poetry recitation programme composed by the participants themselves. The students of the school took part in it. Lyrical drama called “Ekush Jugay Jugay” (Ever lasting Twenty First) performed by a cutural group was the most interesting part of the total programme. They tried to glorify those valiant sons of the country who one day sacrificed their own lives to establish the right of the language. At last our Headmaster, who presided over the function paid thanks to UNESCO authorities again. Then he declared the programme end by taking vows to implement the dreams of those martyrs and giving thanks to everybody. Thus the programme came to an end. This is all for today. Hope to hear from you. With love and best wishes. Sincerely yours, Tahseen From Name: House No: Street: Post Office: Thana: District: To Name: House No: Street: Post Office: Thana: District:

- Crisis you face in your town (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to your friend about the crisis you face in your town. 5th April, 2024 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Arif, I am in receipt of your letter of the March 12, 2024. In it you mentioned about the crisis of the town. You have expressed that you are sometimes fed up with living in town. I fully agree with you on this point. I have been born and brought up in town. But as the days are passing, I find that the town becomes full of crisis. The people living in the towns suffer from different types of crisis. It is very costly to live in town. People in towns find life very busy and routined. They can hardly ever stand at one place for long. They are continuously entrapped in motion and rush. They must move as must the water of the river. Everyone tries to have his interests fulfilled. So they are selfish to the backbone. At every step a person meets deceit, fraud and dishonesty in the city. People have little or no sympathy for one another. The town grows in a small area with a large population. The houses here are congested. Light and air cannot enter into it freely. Here life is threatened by severe environmental pollutions caused by dust, smoke, buzz, smell of carbon mono-oxide, continuous obnoxious sounds of motor vehicles and factories, filths and hardened touch of bricks tiles and pavements. Cars, buses, taxies, lorries, scooters and rickshaws ply along the streets from morning to midnight. There are street accidents, traffic jams. All these tell upon the nerves of the people living in the town. I do not know when and how the people of towns can get rid of these crises. However, hope for the best so that we can ensure a happy and healthy environment for the future generation. This is all for today. Hope you in sound health and joyful time. With love and best wishes. Yours ever, Tahseen Write a letter to your friend about the crisis you face in your town. My dear Arif, I hope this letter finds you well. It has been some time since we last exchanged letters, and I wanted to share with you some challenges we are currently facing in our town. While life here has its charms, it’s not without its share of difficulties. One of the biggest problems in our town is the worsening traffic congestion. The roads are narrow, and with the increasing number of vehicles, commuting has become a daily struggle. During peak hours, it feels like a complete standstill. This not only wastes time but also leads to unnecessary stress for everyone. Another major issue is the frequent power outages. Electricity cuts happen several times a day, and it disrupts our daily routines. Students find it difficult to study, businesses suffer losses, and the summer heat becomes unbearable without fans or air conditioning. Although generators and inverters provide some relief, not everyone can afford them. The town is also grappling with a lack of proper waste management. Garbage piles up in many areas because the collection system is inefficient. This not only makes the town look unpleasant but also creates health risks. The stench and the sight of overflowing bins are hard to ignore. Water scarcity is another pressing concern. Although we are surrounded by rivers, the supply of clean drinking water is limited. Many families rely on deep tube wells, but even these don’t meet the demand during the dry season. Lastly, there’s the issue of unemployment. Many young people here struggle to find jobs, forcing them to move to larger cities. This brain drain is a big loss for our town’s potential development. Despite these challenges, I believe that with better planning and community efforts, we can overcome these crises. I hope the authorities take notice and implement sustainable solutions soon. How are things in your town? I’d love to hear about the situation there. Take care and write back soon. - Cultural function (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to your cousin describing how you enjoyed your cultural function at school. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Rana, I have not heard from for a long time. Hope that all of you are keeping well. You will be glad to know that we observed our annual cultural function last week. On the occasion our school campus and the surroundings of the play ground were decorated with colourful papers, festoons etc. The main stage was also decorated with flowers, balloons etc. The honourable secretary of Education was the chief guest of the function. When the chief guest arrived, the scouts of our school gave him a guard of honour. The function began just at 10.30 am. with the recitation from the holy Quran. The function was presided over by our Headmaster. Then, one of the students announced the scheduled programmes. After that the performers of each class started to perform on the stage. Someone danced, someone sang, someone told jakes and some recited poems. There were also some group performances. Our class had been chosen to put on a play. So, after one month rehearsal, we performed on the stage quite well. This play had been written by our class teacher. Ours was the last presentation. Then the chief guest gave a very glorifying speech which encouraged us to do better in future. He also advised us to build up a good character. At last our Headmaster thanked the distinguished guest and others present on the occasion. Altogether, it was a pleasant day for me. I’m quite well. No more today, with best regards to your parents and good wishes to you. Yours affectionately, ‘Farin’ Write a letter to your cousin describing how you enjoyed your cultural function at school. 5th Janurary, 2024 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Rana, I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. It has been a while since we last caught up, and I wanted to share an exciting experience with you. Last week, we had a cultural function at our school, and it was one of the most enjoyable events I’ve attended in a long time. The event started in the afternoon, with the entire school decorated beautifully with colorful flags, lights, and flowers. The atmosphere was lively, and everyone was dressed in traditional attire, adding a festive touch. The theme of the function was “Celebrating Diversity,” which showcased the rich cultural heritage of our country. The program began with a speech by our Principal, who emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating our traditions. Then came the performances, and they were truly a treat to watch! There were folk dances, classical music recitals, and drama performances that depicted historical events. I participated in a group dance that represented the culture of our region. It was such an exhilarating experience to perform on stage in front of a cheering audience. One of the highlights of the evening was the fashion show, where students wore traditional costumes from different parts of the country. It was amazing to see the diversity and beauty of our cultural heritage. The crowd cheered enthusiastically for every participant. The food stalls set up in the school courtyard were another major attraction. They served a variety of traditional dishes and snacks, and I couldn’t resist trying pithas, samosas, and some delicious sweets. Sharing food with friends while laughing and chatting made the evening even more special. The function ended with a grand finale—a group performance where students and teachers joined in singing a patriotic song. The energy and unity displayed in that moment were truly inspiring. I wish you could have been there to enjoy it with me. I know how much you love cultural events, and I’m sure you would’ve had a great time. That’s all for now. Let me know what’s new in your life. Write a letter to your friend describing your daily life. 5th January, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rony, I was thrilled to receive your letter yesterday, and I'm eager to share with you a glimpse into my daily routine. My day typically begins bright and early in the morning. I start by engaging in some physical exercise to invigorate my body, followed by a refreshing wash. After attending to my morning rituals, I sit down for a hearty breakfast to fuel my day ahead. Then, it's time to hit the books and prepare for school. I ensure that I have all the necessary materials ready before setting off for the day. Once at school, I immerse myself in my studies, paying close attention to the lessons imparted by my teachers. I also make it a point to spend some time in the school library, expanding my knowledge and exploring new topics. - Cricket match you have witnessed (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to your friend telling him/her describing about the exciting cricket match 5th Janurary, 2024 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Arif, Your letter is just to hand, and I am glad to hear about your recent adventures. Today, I want to share an unforgettable experience I had recently—a thrilling cricket match that kept everyone on the edge of their seats! The match was between our local team and a rival team from a nearby district. It was held at the town stadium, which was packed with enthusiastic fans waving flags and cheering loudly. The excitement in the air was infectious, and everyone was eager to see who would emerge victorious. Our team won the toss and chose to bat first. From the very beginning, the match was filled with suspense. The opening batsmen played cautiously, building a strong foundation. However, a sudden fall of wickets had us all biting our nails. Just when things seemed bleak, our star player entered the field. His powerful shots and quick running between the wickets brought the crowd back to life. He scored an impressive century, which helped us post a competitive total of 275 runs. When it was the opponent’s turn to bat, the tension only increased. Their opening batsmen were aggressive, scoring runs quickly. Our bowlers struggled initially but soon found their rhythm. A brilliant diving catch by one of our fielders turned the tide in our favor. Every wicket was celebrated with deafening cheers, and it felt like the entire town was united in support of our team. The final overs were nerve-wracking. The rival team needed 10 runs from the last over, and our best bowler was given the ball. He bowled brilliantly, taking two wickets and restricting the runs. When the final ball was bowled and the opponent fell short by three runs, the entire stadium erupted in joy! It was more than just a match; it was an emotional rollercoaster that brought everyone together. Watching the players give their best and feeling the crowd's energy made it an unforgettable experience. I wish you could have been there to witness the excitement with me. That’s all for now. Let me know if you’ve watched any thrilling matches lately. I’d love to hear about it! Yours ever, Tahseen Write a letter to your friend describing a cricket match you have witnessed particularly touching on the performance of Bangladesh in the World Cup, England' 5th Janurary, 2024 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear 'Abir', I am awfully excited! What a nice performance of the Bangladesh team in the World Cup Cricket'2022 is! Bangladesh has played five teams in the World Cup'…. And the overall performance is satisfactory. I think by beating Scotland and Pakistan, Bangladesh team made all the cricket fan surprised. It is a great achievement for us. Possibly you witnessed the match between our team and Pakistan team held in Northampton on May 31, …... The rival team won the toss and opted for bowling. Everyone in the world took it for guaranteed that Pakistan would win the match. But our team very successfully took the match under its control and defeated Pakistan by 62 runs. For Bangladesh it is an achievement and a dramatic win. It cleared the way for Bangladesh to be a permanent member of Test World in cricket. You see, my thrills and joy knew no bounds when our team returned in flying colours. Please let me know your reaction. Convey my best compliments to your parents and love to you. Yours ever, 'Raina' Write a letter to your friend telling him/her describing about the exciting cricket match 5th Janurary, 2024 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘A’, Thanks for your letter. Today I am telling you about the exciting cricket match I have witnessed at the Abahani playground in Dhaka. It was played between Surya Tarun and Kalabagan club. Surya Tarun won the toss and the captain decided to bat. One of the opening batsmen was out after scoring only six runs giving a catch to the wicket keeper. Surya Tarun’s captain saved the prestige of the team by scoring 109 with four sixes and ten fours. They were all out with a good total of 213 runs. Kalabagan had good spinners but they were averagely good in case of batting. Kalabagan reached near the target very hard. From the last over they had to collect 13 runs to win. The score was 201 for eight after 49 over. As Kalabagan needed 13 runs from 6 balls, the batsmen in the pitch were in tension. First, they made a mutual discussion and tried to make themselves free from tension. The first bowl of the last over did not let Kalabagan collect any run. But the second ball of the last over brought six runs for the Kalabagan Club. The third ball was unfortunately dotted. But the fourth ball brought four runs. The fifth ball reached the deep zone of the play ground but the fielders fielded well and so Kalabagan got only one run. So, Kalabagan needed two runs to win from the last ball. The batsman of Kalabagan batted the ball blindly. God favoured him and it was four runs. Kalabagan reached their target hard. Kalabagan defeated Surya Tarun Club by two wickets after facing a hard contest. This game was very important for Kalabagan because their chance to play in the quarter final was fully dependent on the victory of this match. Really, I was very much excited witnessing the match. It made me delighted for the time being. This is all for today. With love and best wishes. - Village fair you visited (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to your friend describing a recent village fair you visited. 5th Janurary, 2022 Sonagazi, Feni My dear Arif, Your letter is just to hand. It was wonderful hearing about your recent trip to the countryside. Inspired by your experience, I thought I’d share something equally exciting—a recent village fair I visited. It was such a delightful experience that I can’t wait to tell you all about it. The fair took place in a nearby village to celebrate the harvest season. The atmosphere was lively and colorful, with people of all ages pouring in from surrounding areas. As I approached the fairground, the vibrant decorations immediately caught my eye. Brightly colored flags fluttered in the breeze, and the stalls were adorned with flowers and lights. There was so much to explore at the fair! The stalls were filled with a variety of goods, from handmade crafts and pottery to colorful bangles and toys. I was especially fascinated by the sweet shops offering traditional treats like pithas, jilapis, and ladus. The aroma of freshly cooked snacks filled the air, making it impossible to resist tasting a little of everything. The cultural performances were the highlight of the fair. A local group performed folk dances and songs, which were both entertaining and heartwarming. There was also a puppet show that drew huge crowds, especially children. The excitement on their faces was infectious! For entertainment, there were rides like the merry-go-round and a giant Ferris wheel. I couldn’t resist taking a ride on the Ferris wheel to get a bird’s-eye view of the bustling fairground. The laughter, music, and chatter from below made the experience unforgettable. The fair also had a section dedicated to traditional games like ha-du-du and bullock-cart racing. It was amazing to see how these age-old traditions are still cherished and celebrated. Visiting the fair made me appreciate the cultural richness and warmth of rural life even more. I felt a sense of belonging and joy that’s hard to describe. I wish you had been there with me—it would’ve been even more fun. That’s all for now. Do let me know how you’re doing and if you’ve visited any fairs recently. Looking forward to your reply. Yours ever, Rifat Write a letter to your friend describing a recent village fair you visited. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rifat This is many days since you wrote to me. I am highly eager to let you know about a visit to a fair in our village, which I have recently made. You know that the last few days were the vacation of autumn. So I went to visit my native village. There I along with my cousin went to a village fair. Indeed it was an amazing experience. The fair was full of din and bustle. Immense crowds were making their way towards the fair. The fair was held over the open space around the shrine of a Muslim saint. There were long rows of booths with broad passages between. In these booths were displayed almost all sorts of things; toys, cosmetics, knives, whistles, earthen wares, brass wares, fruits and sweets. It seemed to be a kind of exhibition in miniature of cottage industries. The rural artisans and craftsmen brought their handmade articles to the fair. Different forms of amusements were also accommodated to provide a happy diversion to the rural people. ‘Travelling jatra parties’, ‘Nagar- dolas’ ‘Circus parties’ etc were showing their feats and performances. A magician too was found under a small tent ready to show his tricks to the people against small sum. But the largest crowd gathered around the place where jugglers exhibited their feats. After visiting the fair I realised that the fair really inspired the skilled hands of cottage industries and helped the farmers by building their economy. It was a means of recreation, change and social get-together of the village people. The experience of visiting the fair is really engraved in my heart for long. That’s all for today. Hope to hear from you. With best wishes. Yours ever, Halim Write a letter to your friend describing the recent fair of your village. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Masum, Thank you very much for your kind letter. I hope you're doing well, and I'm glad to say that I'm also well. Now, let me tell you about a village fair that I recently visited. Our village is quite old and large. Every year, during the occasions of Pahela Baishakh or Durgapuja, a fair is held under a big banyan tree in our village. This time, there was a week-long fair organized for Durgapuja. I went to the fair with my grandfather. When we arrived, we saw hundreds of decorated temporary shops lined up in rows. Rural artisans like potters, weavers, carpenters, and artists displayed and sold their handmade products at the fair. Additionally, there were many fancy items such as jute handicrafts, dolls, toys, kites, bangles, ribbons, and small wooden furniture. The circus performances, doll dances, magic shows, and cockfights were the main attractions of the fair. I especially enjoyed watching the cockfight, and it drew a large crowd of people of all ages, particularly children. I bought a wooden stick for my grandmother before we headed back home before sunset. Village fairs hold great value as they provide entertainment for rural folks, breaking the monotony of their daily chores, lifting their spirits, and broadening their horizons. They also contribute to the village economy. I make it a point to visit the village fair every year. That's all for today. Sending you my best wishes. - ‘Bijoy Mela Utsab’ in Chittagong (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to a friend describing the ‘Bijoy Mela Utsab’ in Chittagong that you have visited. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rana, Today, I want to write to you about my recent visit to ‘Muktijudher Bijoy Mela Utsab’, which is held yearly in front of Chittagong Stadium. Every year it begins on December 7 and continues until 16th December. The main purpose of this Mela is to uphold the spirit of the liberation war through exhibiting the historical photographs and documents, and through constantly rendering the memorable songs sung during the liberation war, and by holding discussion on the impact of the war on our history and culture. Besides, the Mela becomes a great occasion for the display of indigenous products of all sorts. Handicrafts of all kinds, traditional foods of all sorts, and pottery, and garments are brought into the Mela both for exhibiting and selling. Thousands of stalls are planted overnight in which a fascinating array of consumer goods is kept for sale. For entertainment, a big tent is pitched at one corner of the Mela in which a circus party is regularly performing to the enthralled audience. In short, the Mela truly shows the rich heritage of our culture. We went there on 15th December. It was evening, and there was a thick crowd. We found it difficult to find our way through. However, after great effort, we reached the area, isolated for seminars, where prominent people delivered speeches on the significance of the liberation war. We roamed about the Mela aimlessly. I was impressed by the pictures of our national leaders hung on a separate panel. The picture of Bangabandhu delivering the historic 7th March speech was also there. I marvelled at the erect gait of Bangabandhu’s showing his uncompromising attitude. Another blow-up photograph caught the moment of the historic surrender of the Pakistani forces to the allied forces on the 16th of December. I could not hold my tears when I saw the blow-up pictures of the martyred intellectuals whose corpses were found lying decomposed at the Rayer Bazar graveyard. After spending a couple of hours at the Mela, I returned home proud and contented. This is all for today. With love and best wishes. - Visit in the midst of Nature (Letter, Application & Email Writing)
Write a letter to your younger brother describing your recent visit in the midst of Nature 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Siam’, Your last letter helped me a lot to know about your recent visit in the midst of Nature. Your description enchanted me most. The description of the nature you mentioned reminds me the recent poem that I read. Today I could not but describe the poem in which I found the praise and admiration of Nature by the poet. The poem is a famous one ‘Under the Greenwood Tree’ by William Shakespeare. This is a poem in which the poet’s love of Nature has found an eloquent expression. Nature is the only way and means of freedom from hostility and arrogance of life. One can only enjoy endless blessings of love and solitude with Nature. Hence, the romantic poet invites us all to come in deep contact with nature. The green groves, the singing birds, the shining sun, the melodious chirps, wind, woods, simply joy and life are the pleasant factors of Nature. In the forest, the only enemy of man is bitter winter and rough weather. Nature has no particular enmity towards a man and it treats all equally. Craving, luxuries, hostile-society etc give strain and stress in life. Therefore, the poet invites all to live with him in merry environment of Nature. Indeed, the poem presents us an ecstatic joy in the midst of Nature. I think the description of the poem will charm a nature-lover like you. This is all for today. Hope to hear from you soon. Regards to father and mother. Love to you. Yours affectionately, Tahseen From Name: House No: Street: Post Office: Thana: District: To Name: House No: Street: Post Office: Thana: District:
