I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. Thank you for your kind letter; it brought me much joy. I'm glad to hear that you are well, and I'm also doing well myself.

You expressed an interest in hearing about my experience at the last Baishakhi Mela, so I'll share it with you now. Every year, our college hosts a grand Baishakhi Mela, and this year was no exception. It was held on the last Pahela Baishakh, and it was a delightful event.

Accompanied by my grandfather, I attended the Mela in the afternoon, dressed in traditional attire. As we entered the college campus, which is situated by the river Titas, we were greeted by rows of beautifully decorated shops and stalls. These stalls offered a variety of goods, including dolls, toys, handicrafts, inexpensive jewelry, cosmetics, sweets, cakes, and various handmade wooden items.

The Mela attracted people of all ages, both men and women, and I had the pleasure of meeting many fellow students. Everyone seemed immersed in the festive atmosphere, either buying or selling items. I purchased some cosmetics for my younger sister and a wooden stick for my grandmother from the Mela. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed the doll dance performance, which was the main attraction of the event.

Baishakhi Mela serves multiple purposes beyond mere entertainment. It helps break the monotony of daily life, dispels social superstitions, and contributes to the local economy. Furthermore, it fosters cultural exchange and serves as a source of enjoyment for all who attend.

I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share with you my amazing experience of the last Baishakhi Mela, which was held recently in our town. It was one of the most vibrant and lively festivals I’ve ever experienced, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.

Baishakhi Mela, celebrating the Bengali New Year, was full of energy and excitement. As soon as I entered the venue, I was greeted by a sea of colorful decorations—bright red, yellow, and green balloons, ribbons, and traditional alpana (decorative designs) painted on the ground. The entire place was buzzing with joy and celebration.

There were so many things to enjoy! The stalls offered a wide variety of items—handicrafts, traditional clothes, and jewelry. I couldn’t resist picking up a few beautiful handmade items. The food stalls were another highlight. From crispy samosas and chotpoti to sweets like roshogolla and mishti doi, the flavors of the festival were irresistible. I spent a lot of time enjoying the delicious food while chatting with friends.

What I enjoyed most was the cultural performances. There were folk dances, baul songs, and dramas that showcased the richness of Bengali culture. The performances were so lively, and the crowd cheered enthusiastically. There was also a baul singer whose soulful voice resonated throughout the event, creating a magical atmosphere.

The highlight of the day was the traditional mela games. There were tug-of-war contests, races, and even kabaddi, which were so much fun to watch. People of all ages participated, and it created a sense of unity and joy among everyone.

The Baishakhi Mela was a perfect blend of tradition, culture, and fun. It was such a great way to celebrate the new year and connect with the community. I wish you could have been there to enjoy it with me.
