I understand that you are facing some difficulties, but I believe with the right approach, you can overcome them. Learning English, like any other language, requires dedication and practice. Many people perceive English as a difficult language to learn, but this perception often stems from a lack of confidence rather than the language itself being inherently difficult. I assure you that with consistent effort and the right strategies, you can make significant progress in your English language skills. Allow me to share some tips that may help you in your journey of learning English. Firstly, focus on the fundamentals such as grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure. Understanding the basic rules of English grammar and familiarizing yourself with common words and phrases will provide a strong foundation for your learning. Secondly, practice speaking English as much as possible. Don't be afraid to make mistakes; instead, embrace them as opportunities for learning and improvement. Engage in conversations with friends, family members, or language partners who can provide feedback and encouragement. Additionally, immerse yourself in the English language by reading English books, newspapers, and online articles. Listening to English podcasts, watching movies, and listening to news broadcasts in English will also help improve your listening skills. Lastly, be patient and persistent in your efforts. Learning a language takes time, and it's important to stay motivated even when faced with challenges. Celebrate your progress along the way and don't hesitate to seek help from teachers or language tutors if needed. I have full confidence in your ability to excel in learning English. Ideal College Hostel, Dhaka-1100 January 01, 2021 My dear Mother, I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I was delighted to receive your kind letter this morning, and I am grateful for your love and concern. I am pleased to inform you that I am doing well here at the college hostel. Allow me to provide you with a glimpse of my life here in the hostel. Our hostel is a four-storied building shaped like a 'U', located in a serene environment in Dhaka. It is well-ventilated and receives ample natural light, making it a comfortable living space. The architectural design of the hostel is quite impressive, adding to its charm. Living in the hostel comes with a set of rules and regulations that we must adhere to. These rules are in place to promote discipline and a structured lifestyle among the students. We have a routine to follow, starting with waking up at dawn, preparing our lessons, and attending prayers regularly. Our meals, including breakfast, lunch, and supper, are served punctually, and we are provided with nutritious food items such as rice, fish, eggs, meat, lentils, vegetables, khichuri, and fruits. One of the highlights of our hostel life is the recreational activities available to us. We have access to facilities like swimming in the hostel pond and playing sports in the college playground every afternoon. Additionally, each student has access to a dedicated reading room to study in peace. Our hostel superintendent, who also serves as our Bengali teacher, plays a crucial role in ensuring our well-being. He treats us with kindness and care, acting as a father figure to us all. Under his guidance, we strive to maintain discipline and cleanliness in the hostel premises, fostering a friendly and harmonious atmosphere among residents. In conclusion, I am fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful college hostel. Please rest assured that I am well taken care of and am fully committed to my studies. I send my best regards to you and Father. Take care, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. With love and affection, Your loving daughter, Mahima Write a letter to your father describing him about your hostel life. January 01, 2021 Ideal College Hostel, Dhaka-1100 My dear Father, I send my warm regards to you. I hope everyone is in good health by the grace of Allah. I received your kind letter dated September 6th. You wanted to know how I am adjusting to hostel life. Our hostel is a three-story building. The ground floor has rooms used for various purposes like offices, a TV room, a waiting room, and a dining area. The first floor is where we stay, while the second floor is for our seniors. I'm fortunate to have a friendly atmosphere in the hostel. I share my room with two other roommates who are very sociable. Our hostel superintendent acts as our guardian, always looking out for us and eager to meet our needs. The quality of food in the dining area isn't the best, but we manage to tolerate it. Once a month, we organize a feast where all the students, along with our superintendent, contribute money. It's a delightful experience. However, we face challenges due to frequent power outages and a shortage of clean water, which affects our daily lives. That's all for today. Please give my regards to Mother. I miss you all dearly. With love, Farhad

  • Olympic Games (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your younger brother telling him about the historical background of holding the Olympic Games. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Niamul’, Your letter of the 4th instant is just to hand. In this letter, you have mentioned that you feel inclined to know about the historical background of introducing Olympic Games. Well, I can present you an informative letter about it as I have come to know about it from my text-book. It might be surprising to you that these Olympic Games at first, were confined to only the Greeks. At the very outset, a Greek named Iphitos planned to introduce these games in order to cease the conflict and combat among the Greeks. At that time, the best athletes gathered in the valley of Olympia to outdo their rivals in friendly games and sports. The contests included then were running and leaping, boxing and wrestling, and throwing the discus and the javelin. Later, contests with horses were introduced. These games were going on in Greek and Roman times. But in 394 A.D. the Roman emperor stopped the games. After over 1500 years these games were revived by a Frenchman called Baron Pierre de Coubertin and his supporters. This time the purpose of the games were different. Since then the games were held as a contest not among the contests but among the nations of the world. The games have been held regularly in different countries every four years except during the years of the First and Second world wars since 1896. I think that you now have got a clear conception of the introduction of the Olympic Games. This is all for today. Be regular in your studies. Regards to father and mother and love to you. Affectionately yours, Tahseen

  • Football match (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your cousin describing the experience of watching a football match. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Habib, I am sorry that I could not write to you earlier. The reason is that I had nothing interesting to write. Now I have got something to tell you. Last week I had the opportunity to watch a heavily contested football match between Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club. It was the league championship match. After a long waiting, the match began with a great clapping by the crowd and the referee’s whistle. The ball went up and down the playground with the mastery of passing and dribbling of the players of both sides. Once, Abahani striker’s shot hit the bar post. But again, there was a counter attack and Abahani defenders were active enough to clear the ball at the cost of a corner. The corner kick was wonderfully taken and the ball sailed over the defender to unmarked Alfaz and he nodded it with a well header into the net. There was a roar of applause amidst of the first half. After the break, again the match started. The good striker of Abahani repaid the goal by placing the ball into the net of the Mohammedan. As a result, it was 1-1. At the last ten minutes, the game was full of excitement because both teams tried heart and soul to defeat each other. Their attack and counter attack gave us much pleasure and excitement. Before two minutes of the end of the game, the speedy striker of Mohammedan Arman neatly placed the ball through the right corner of the goal post of Abahani. Then Mohammedan got the lead of 2-1. The game was over with this result and the winning team was the Mohammedan. The thing that I observed in the match mostly was the team spirit of the players. Both teams fought bravely and tried to show their skills. They hardly tried to play in a wrong way. It made me praise them. The result went in favour of the Mohammedan. The Abahani’s players gladly accepted the result. The cup of the championship went to the home of the Mohammedan. It was a full of contest and thrill match. This match played between two great teams of Bangladesh was really pleasing. It was very much interesting. I shall never forget it. This is all for today. With love and best wishes. Yours ever, Abidur Rahman

Yours ever, Mohan Write a letter to your friend describing different kinds of food and their food value. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Habib, It is a long time since I heard from you. Your silence pains me much. It will be a pleasure for me if you write to me from time to time. A few days ago I came to know that you are careless about your food habit and health. This is really shocking. I think you should have better idea of different kinds of food and their food value. Our body is the construction of food we eat. We all want to live a healthy and happy life. For the formation of our body, we need to eat a balance diet. A balanced diet is one in which the ratio of the elements of food is balanced. It ensures that there are carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins, mineral salts and water in proportion to the requirement of our body. Carbohydrate gives us heat and energy. By eating rice, bread, potato, sugar, etc we get carbohydrate. Protein food like fish, meat, egg, dal, peas, bean and milk build our body. Fat gives us heat and energy and prevents decay of the body. We get fat by eating oil, butter and ‘ghee’. By eating leafy and green vegetables, fruit, egg, fish, meat and liver and by drinking milk we get vitamins and also mineral salts. Vitamins and mineral salts keep our body fit for work and keep away diseases. Water, one of the most important elements of a balanced diet, helps us digest food. The kidneys of the body, which can play the role of body’s filters, can’t work efficiently without water. It also controls the heat of the body and keeps our blood healthy. I hope this will show you the benefits of good food and from now on you will follow the proper way of maintaining health. This is all for today. With love and best wishes. Yours ever, Mohan Write a letter to your pen-friend who lives in Japan about the food habit of the people of Bangladesh. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Siam, I am very glad to receive your letter. You have wanted to know about the food habit of Bangladeshi people. Our food habit is a lot different than yours. People in Bangladesh generally take the same food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The villagers usually eat rice three times a day. They also take dal, meat and vegetables. The urban people usually take egg, bread made of wheat or flour along with fried vegetables or sweets and a cup of tea a breakfast. In lunch, they eat rice with curry of fish or meat and dal. They take rice, vegetables, curry, dal, etc. for dinner .Now-a-day some people in the rural areas eat bread to control their health. Some foods such as fast food like singara, samocha etc. Cold drinks , chips, burger, sand witches, chops, pizza, hamburger etc. are becoming popular day by day in our country. The modes of eating are also different between the rural and urban people. The urban people have started eating some western items of food but the rural people are not familiar with them. In fact, people in our country, especially the young people are changing their attitude towards western items. No more today .I am eagerly waiting for your next letter. Sincerely yours. Akash

  • Destruction of the flood (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

About the destruction that the flood 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Arif, Your passionate letter has anchored timely. I express my heartfelt thanks to you for your kind note. You wanted to know about the destruction that the flood did and how we have been affected. The sufferings of the affected people beggar description. Well, here it is. The recent flood has done havoc to this area. Before flood there was heavy rainfall for days together. The water began to rise in an abnormal way. Soon it rose above the danger level. Gradually all the lands and roads went under water. The communication was cut off. The crops were destroyed. The houses and cattle were swept away by the current. There was water and water everywhere. No trace of land was found to stand on. Then the boat was the only means of communication for going from one place to another. Some managed to save themselves by climbing on the trees-tops, the roofs of semi brick-built houses. At present the miseries of the people in this area know no bounds. Many of them have become victims to diarrhoea and other water-borne diseases. Some N.G.O’s took steps to fight with this natural calamity. It will take a long time to make up the harrowing toll of distress caused by the flood. I think this is enough for understanding the situation. Pray for us. With best wishes. Yours ever, Tahseen

I want to let you know a brief account of it. By train I reached Bagerhat. I hired a rickshaw and went to visit the Shat Gambuj mosque. It was built in 1440 by Khan Jahan Ali, a preacher of Islam. It stands on sixty pillars. It has 77 domes instead of 60 domes. The inside walls are very thick and flowers are painted on it. It is a work of great art and engineering skill of the period. I also visited the large tanks known as Dargadighi and Ghoradighi near the mosque. I was wondered at the sight of all these activities of human beings in the days long past. In it you have told me something about your recent visit to Khan Jahan Ali’s Dargah and the Satgambuj Mosque near Bagerhat. Today I am telling you something about my recent visit to Mainamati. Mainamati is situated about six miles due west of Comilla. The relics of an ancient Buddhist civilization have been discovered here. Only a part of the entire site is called the Shalban Vihar. The remains of the Buddhist monastery have been dug out alone with a central shrine. Many valuable articles of use have also been discovered in the ruins. History tells us that a new royal dynasty called the Chanda dynasty rose after the fall of the Palas. They ruled over the south-eastern Bengal between the 9th and the 11th century. They had their capital at Rohitgiri. Mainamati is really a site of great historical interest. I want to pay a second visit to Mainamati together with you in the next winter holidays. No more today. My dear Belal. Thanks a lot from the core of heart for your sweet note. Hope you are well. I am also well with my family. You are curious to know about my recent visit to a historical place. Now I am giving you a brief account of it. Visiting an historical place has a great importance in student life. Only by reading books a student can not widen his kingdom of knowledge to face the battle of life successfully. I am a student of class xii and very curious to visit any historical place to acquire a new experience and knowledge which will help me to overcome any challenges easily. During the last winter vacation I visited Dhaka which is one of the biggest historical cities in the world. I went to visit Dhaka by train with my father who is a Headmaster of a secondary school in our Upazila. I have visited Dhaka University, Jaganath University, the Sangsad Bhaban, the National Museum. the National Zoo, the National Memorial at Savar, the Dhaka High Court, the Shishu Park, the Lalbag Fort- the Ramna Park, the Shahs Mosque, the Tara Mosque, the Ahsan Manjil and many other historical places. I have earned a lot of new experience which will help me to prosper in life. I believe that every student should visit a historical place every year to make life successful. No more today. With my best wishes to you. Yours ever, Jabeyer. Suppose you have recently visited Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh and you have seen many ancient historical places also. Now, write a letter to your friend describing your experience of visiting a place of historical importance. 12th September, 2021 Patherghata, Chittagong. My dear Rubu, I just got back from a trip to Dhaka, and I wanted to tell you about it. Dhaka is a really old city. It was established by Islam Khan during the time of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Now, it's the capital of Bangladesh and it's situated on the Buriganga River. There are many ancient places to see there. First, I visited the Lalbagh Fort, which sits on the bank of the Buriganga River. It was built by Md. Azam Shah, the Subedar of Bengal and the third son of Emperor Aurangazeb, back in 1678. Originally, it was called "Kila Aurangabad," but it's commonly known as Lalbagh Fort now. Later, Shaesta Khan, another Subedar of Bengal, made it even more grand. The fort is surrounded by big walls and has the graves of Shaesta Khan's daughter Bibi Pari, a mosque, and a bathhouse (hamamkhana). It's about 2000 feet long from east to west and 800 feet wide from north to south. The main gate, which is three stories tall and beautifully decorated with Mughal architecture, is on the southern wall. There are also smaller gates on the other walls. The walls themselves are made of thin red bricks. During my trip, I also visited some other important places like the National Museum, Sangsad Bhaban, Mirpur Zoo, Botanical Garden, and Dhaka Stadium. I had a great time exploring Dhaka, and I think you should visit there too when you have some free time. Sending love to you and regards to your parents. Yours always, Rocky

  • Female education (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your younger sister about your views on female education. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Habib, In your letter you mentioned that you are going to participate on a debate programme. I have been happy to learn that your subject is female education. The topic is really a demand of time. Okay, here is a brief idea about it. Education is the birth right of everybody. It makes a harmonious development of one’s mental faculties. So, facilities for education should be held open to everybody. In this respect, no discrimination should be made between man and woman. In fact, education must be universal. Half of the people of our country are women. No development can be brought about in our society without participation of half of its members. And development work cannot be carried out successfully with uneducated women. So our women should be educated at the earliest. It may be advisable to modify the old system of education for our girls. It is a good sign that there is a general awakening among the women. The women of our countries are also coming out of their domestic walls and working side by side with men in every walk of life. Our government is making all-out efforts to pave the way for female education in our country. We should remember that education is one of the fundamental rights of everybody male or female. I think you have got my opinion about female education. This may help you in your debate. This is all for today. Hope you are in sound health and joyful time. Regards to mother and father. With love and best wishes. Yours ever, Tahseen

  • Favourite poet or author (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your friend about your favourite poet or author. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Habib, I have received your letter in which you showed your keen interest to know about my favourite poet. There are many poets in our country. Of them Kazi Nazrul Islam     a poet, philosopher and patriot whom I like most. He is our national poet. He was a poet of unique vision, a seer who could look beyond the limitations of time and place. Nazrul, the rebel poet of Bengal, was born on the 11th Jaistha, 1342 B.S in Churulia, a village of Bardwan in West Bengal. Nazrul’s nickname was “Dukhu Miah”. Nazrul felt the pangs of slavery in his heart and turned a rebel poet. In a weekly magazine named ‘Bijli’, his famous work ‘Bidrohi’ was first published in 1328 B.S. When he was 22 years old, he began editing a bi¬weekly called ‘Dhumketu’. His most well-known works are ‘Agni-Bina’, ‘Bisher-Banshi’, ‘Praloyshika’, ‘Dolonchapa,’ ‘Sarbahara’, ‘Sammyabadi’, ‘Chakrabak’, Chandrabindu’, ‘Natun Chand’, ‘Shesh Shaogat’, ‘Bandhan Hara’, ‘Rikter Bedan’ etc. He also wrote some novels of which ‘Mrityukshudha’ and ‘Bayther Dan’ are widely known. He wrote many lyrical poems, religious songs, gazals, love-lyrics, stories, plays and comic-poems for the children. I like Nazrul more than any other man, because he stood against all sorts of oppression. He was a great revolutionary. He taught us to strike, strive and not to yield or surrender. He showed us the part to fight against the enemy of our freedom. Nazrul’s sympathies were always with the downtrodden and the humiliated. He wrote with the blade of a steel sword, as it were, defying all bans and banters. He had indeed a great heart. All his qualities make me love him both as a great poet and a person as well. This is all in brief about my favourite poet. Let me know about your favourite poet. With love and best wishes. Yours ever, Tahseen

Green leaves with numerous garlands of various colours were set all round. Gates were erected to welcome the visitors. The hall was decorated with evergreens, flags and festoons. Flowerpots with bouquets of roses were placed on the table just in front of the President’s chair. The flowers and festoons artistically laid out gave a gala appearance to the whole scene. Write a letter to your cousin describing what you did on that day. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Arif, Take my cordial love. After the S.S.C Test Examination, we left our school in the first week of this month. To bid farewell, a party was arranged by the junior students of our school. All the S.S.0 Candidates were invited as guests. On that day, I am going to write you about this. On the scheduled date, I started for my school with one of my friends. The function started at 9.30 a.m. We took our respective seats on the stage beside our respected Headmaster. The programme was divided into two sessions. In the 1st session, a farewell address was read out by Hasan of class IX. After that 11,~/ had been requested to deliver a speech on this occasion on behalf of the farewell bidders. On hearing the speech from me, most of the students could not but control their tears. In the mean time, light refreshment and tea were served and thus the 1st session was ended. The second session was started after finishing lunch arranged by the school authority at 3 p.m. In this session, reciting of poems, comic show and a cultural occasion were held beautifully. The function came to an end at about 9.00 p.m. with our Headmaster's speech and blessings. His invaluable instruction cut a deep impression on our minds. Next we saluted the teachers respectfully one by one. At 10 p.m. we gathered at one of our friends' house and hold our dinner together. It was really a red letter day for me. No more today. With best wishes. Yours affectionately Gias

Now write a letter to one of your friends telling her thrilling experience you had during the tour. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear ‘Abid’, I received your letter timely. You wanted to know about my experiences visiting Singapore. I have enjoyed and experienced a lot of things. You know I went on night safari there arranged by a tourist company. Today I am writing to you about that. The journey started at 6:30 pm. It took three and a half hours and cost me S$40. In the zoo, I saw many nocturnal animals which started moving for hunting at dusk. Using the faint lighting we could watch the animals without disturbing them. In the zoo there were 1200 animals from 110 exotic species. Tigers, striped hyenas, golden jackals, cape buffaloes, blue sheep and the rare grater one-horned rhinoceros were remarkable. The total voyage covered an area of 40 hectares of secondary jungle. Riding a tram, I arrived at the zoo and discovered large grounds. At the end of the ride, I enjoyed a sumptuous international buffet dinner in the midst of nature. After dinner I took a leisurely walk and took a closer look at the animals. It was a memorable experience for me to watch tigers and hyenas feasting upon antelopes. Really the journey gave me ample scope to enjoy the beauty of Nature from a closer view. The evening breeze, the setting sun and peace and quietness of the Nature --- all were wonderful experiences to enjoy. After the journey we, at length came back to our starting point and my memorable visit to Night Safari came to an end. This is all for today. I think this will somewhat satisfy your curiosity about my visit. I will write more in the next letters. With best wishes. Write a letter to your friend describing the experience of taking food in a restaurant. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Raj, I have received your letter after a long gap. I am glad to know that you all are well by the grace of God. I would like to inform you about my experience of taking food in a restaurant. The result of our annual examination was published a few days ago. We were then quite free. In the mean time, one of my classmates invited us to have a lunch at a famous restaurant. I Accordingly, we reached that restaurant in a fixed time. Entering into the restaurant, we found that the environment in the restaurant was beautiful. The restaurant was well furnished and ventilated. The waiters were well behaved and polite natured. They brought the food menu. There were Chicken biriyani, Mutton biriyani, Kacchi biriyani, Plain rice, Small fish, Hilsha fish, Chicken curry, Mixed vegetables, Potato curry etc. in the menu. We took chicken biriyani. It was very tasty and we also had a cold drink. After that I was surprised to see the bill of fare. It was much higher than I had anticipated. However, I had to pay taka 700 for a simple dinner. Yet our enjoyment at that restaurant was unforgettable. No more today. I look forward to receiving your letter. With best wishes. Your loving friend, Gias Write a letter to your friend describing the experience of taking food in a restaurant. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Ahad’, It is many days since you wrote to me. Today I am going to tell you about my experience of taking food in a restaurant. You know our friend, ‘S’. He celebrated his birth anniversary the day before yesterday. On this day he arranged a party at a Chinese restaurant and we the local friends were all invited. You will be glad to know that this was totally a new experience for me to have the experience of having food in a Chinese restaurant. In the evening we went to his residence by twos and threes. We wished him Happy Birthday. Then all of us together went to the Chinese restaurant which had already been fixed before. There was dim light in the room. As soon as we took our seats, a waiter in uniform came and handed menu to some of us. I was a greenhorn in this regard. So, I didn’t go ahead. Sohel consulted with some of us and placed order. There was no noise like the normal restaurants. Everybody talked in low voice. I kept looking around and listening to the fine music. The waiter gave a bowl of soup. We took this with some sauce and pepper extract. It tasted well. Cold drinks were served. Then came fried rice, prawn balls, vegetables and chicken fry. We took the food using fork and spoon. Flavour of food in the restaurant was different from that at home. Aroma was also different and crispy. Really, it was a very delicious dish. My mouth still waters at the thought of those delicious dishes. It was a very nice and enjoyable experience. This is all for today. Write to me soon. Yours ever, Jabid

  • Advising her regarding ensuing examination (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your younger sister advising her regarding ensuing examination 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Abir’, Your last letter came to my hand timely. I came to know many things about your studies and daily life. I appreciate your concern regarding your ensuing examination. I should like to advise you especially in this matter. It might be helpful for your exam. You know that every work needs a strategy to be followed. It has been said that about 50 percent of your chances of success relate to your examination skill rather than to your subject knowledge. You need to check and double-check your exam dates and times. You are to follow the restrictions about the things you can carry to the examination hall. In the examination hall you have to budget your time so that no answer can be missed. In this regard you are to avoid elaborating answers. Before attempting to answer it is safe to have a good idea all over the question. Sometimes you may find difficult questions. Don’t worry. Take it as they come. Give time to plan your answer for each question. Again, it is useful half way through writing the answer, to check back that you are doing what you should. Make your answer legible. This is the way through which you can perform well in the examination. I think you will follow my advice. No more today. Hope this will find you in a sound health and joyful time. Write to me soon. With love and best wishes. Yours affectionately, Tahseen

  • Visit in the midst of Nature (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

    1.   Write a letter to your younger brother describing your recent visit in the midst of Nature 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘Siam’, Your last letter helped me a lot to know about your recent visit in the midst of Nature. Your description enchanted me most. The description of the nature you mentioned reminds me the recent poem that I read. Today I could not but describe the poem in which I found the praise and admiration of Nature by the poet. The poem is a famous one ‘Under the Greenwood Tree’ by William Shakespeare. This is a poem in which the poet’s love of Nature has found an eloquent expression. Nature is the only way and means of freedom from hostility and arrogance of life. One can only enjoy endless blessings of love and solitude with Nature. Hence, the romantic poet invites us all to come in deep contact with nature. The green groves, the singing birds, the shining sun, the melodious chirps, wind, woods, simply joy and life       are the pleasant factors of Nature. In the forest, the only enemy of man is bitter winter and rough weather. Nature has no particular enmity towards a man and it treats all equally. Craving, luxuries, hostile-society etc give strain and stress in life. Therefore, the poet invites all to live with him in merry environment of Nature. Indeed, the poem presents us an ecstatic joy in the midst of Nature. I think the description of the poem will charm a nature-lover like you. This is all for today. Hope to hear from you soon. Regards to father and mother. Love to you. Yours affectionately, Tahseen

  • Describing some interesting features of English course (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your younger brother describing some interesting features of English course. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Tahseen, I have received your recent letter. I came to know about your studies and other activities. You wanted to know about the system of our English course. It is good for you to know about it because you are going to face this next year. The syllabus of S.S.C. English has been fully changed. Traditional system is totally removed from the new plan. There was much opportunity of cramming lessons for the students. As they were addicted to cram, they were losing there originality. The students crammed more instead of learning. So they became weak in English. The authority observed it and planned for a new syllabus. This system of syllabus is called communicative system. According to this syllabus, students must learn the basic knowledge of English, as there is no opportunity of cramming. The main features of this syllabus is, ‘seen comprehension, unseen comprehension, multiple choice, true/false, completing passage, writing similar passage providing on the paper, and other creative and imaginative writings. If any student wants to make a good result, he must possess the basic knowledge, creativity, imaginative power. Different experiences are also necessary for doing well in the examination. As our country is not so much rich in English, it will sometimes bring bad effects for our students. For continuing this system, teachers must be well-trained. I think that the percentage of passing will become less, as most of our students are weak in English. So, I advise you to give more importance in English. Hope you in sound health and joyful time. With love and best wishes. Yours affectionately, Tahseen

Drug addiction is one of the most perilous and destructive habits a person can develop. It poses a significant threat to individual well-being and societal stability. • ‘Bijoy Mela Utsab’ in Chittagong (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to a friend describing the ‘Bijoy Mela Utsab’ in Chittagong that you have visited. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rana, Today, I want to write to you about my recent visit to ‘Muktijudher Bijoy Mela Utsab’, which is held yearly in front of Chittagong Stadium. Every year it begins on December 7 and continues until 16th December. The main purpose of this Mela is to uphold the spirit of the liberation war through exhibiting the historical photographs and documents, and through constantly rendering the memorable songs sung during the liberation war, and by holding discussion on the impact of the war on our history and culture. Besides, the Mela becomes a great occasion for the display of indigenous products of all sorts. Handicrafts of all kinds, traditional foods of all sorts, and pottery, and garments are brought into the Mela both for exhibiting and selling. Thousands of stalls are planted overnight in which a fascinating array of consumer goods is kept for sale. For entertainment, a big tent is pitched at one corner of the Mela in which a circus party is regularly performing to the enthralled audience. In short, the Mela truly shows the rich heritage of our culture. We went there on 15th December. It was evening, and there was a thick crowd. We found it difficult to find our way through. However, after great effort, we reached the area, isolated for seminars, where prominent people delivered speeches on the significance of the liberation war. We roamed about the Mela aimlessly. I was impressed by the pictures of our national leaders hung on a separate panel. The picture of Bangabandhu delivering the historic 7th March speech was also there. I marvelled at the erect gait of Bangabandhu’s showing his uncompromising attitude. Another blow-up photograph caught the moment of the historic surrender of the Pakistani forces to the allied forces on the 16th of December. I could not hold my tears when I saw the blow-up pictures of the martyred intellectuals whose corpses were found lying decomposed at the Rayer Bazar graveyard. After spending a couple of hours at the Mela, I returned home proud and contented. This is all for today. With love and best wishes. Ever yours, Tahseen

  • Village fair you visited (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your friend describing a recent village fair you visited. 5th January, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear Rony, I was thrilled to receive your letter yesterday, and I'm eager to share with you a glimpse into my daily routine. My day typically begins bright and early in the morning. I start by engaging in some physical exercise to invigorate my body, followed by a refreshing wash. After attending to my morning rituals, I sit down for a hearty breakfast to fuel my day ahead. Then, it's time to hit the books and prepare for school. I ensure that I have all the necessary materials ready before setting off for the day. Once at school, I immerse myself in my studies, paying close attention to the lessons imparted by my teachers. I also make it a point to spend some time in the school library, expanding my knowledge and exploring new topics. After school, I like to unwind by spending time in my garden or engaging in indoor games like carom or chess. A quick refreshment break follows, after which I eagerly await my private tutor's arrival. During these sessions, I focus intently on absorbing new information and clarifying any doubts I may have. Once my tutoring session concludes, I take a brief respite before diving back into my studies. I diligently complete my homework assignments and prepare for the following day's lessons. Occasionally, I indulge in watching television programs that pique my interest. As the day winds down, I enjoy a wholesome supper around 10:30 p.m. before retiring to bed promptly at 11:30 p.m. This structured routine forms the backbone of my daily life, ensuring productivity and balance throughout the week. On weekends and holidays, I seize the opportunity to visit relatives, pursue my passion for painting, or lose myself in the pages of a good book. I hope this overview provides you with insight into my daily life and routines. Please do share your own experiences—I'm eager to hear about your day-to-day activities as well. Dear Rifat This is many days since you wrote to me. I am highly eager to let you know about a visit to a fair in our village, which I have recently made. You know that the last few days were the vacation of autumn. So I went to visit my native village. There I along with my cousin went to a village fair. Indeed it was an amazing experience. The fair was full of din and bustle. Immense crowds were making their way towards the fair. The fair was held over the open space around the shrine of a Muslim saint. There were long rows of booths with broad passages between. In these booths were displayed almost all sorts of things; toys, cosmetics, knives, whistles, earthen wares, brass wares, fruits and sweets. It seemed to be a kind of exhibition in miniature of cottage industries. The rural artisans and craftsmen brought their handmade articles to the fair. Different forms of amusements were also accommodated to provide a happy diversion to the rural people. ‘Travelling jatra parties’, ‘Nagar- dolas’ ‘Circus parties’ etc were showing their feats and performances. A magician too was found under a small tent ready to show his tricks to the people against small sum. But the largest crowd gathered around the place where jugglers exhibited their feats. After visiting the fair I realised that the fair really inspired the skilled hands of cottage industries and helped the farmers by building their economy. It was a means of recreation, change and social get-together of the village people. The experience of visiting the fair is really engraved in my heart for long. That’s all for today. Yours ever, Tahseen Write a letter to your friend telling/describing him/her about the village fair you visited. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Masum, Thank you very much for your kind letter. I hope you're doing well, and I'm glad to say that I'm also well. Now, let me tell you about a village fair that I recently visited. Our village is quite old and large. Every year, during the occasions of Pahela Baishakh or Durgapuja, a fair is held under a big banyan tree in our village. This time, there was a week-long fair organized for Durgapuja. I went to the fair with my grandfather. When we arrived, we saw hundreds of decorated temporary shops lined up in rows. Rural artisans like potters, weavers, carpenters, and artists displayed and sold their handmade products at the fair. Additionally, there were many fancy items such as jute handicrafts, dolls, toys, kites, bangles, ribbons, and small wooden furniture. The circus performances, doll dances, magic shows, and cockfights were the main attractions of the fair. I especially enjoyed watching the cockfight, and it drew a large crowd of people of all ages, particularly children. I bought a wooden stick for my grandmother before we headed back home before sunset. Village fairs hold great value as they provide entertainment for rural folks, breaking the monotony of their daily chores, lifting their spirits, and broadening their horizons. They also contribute to the village economy. I make it a point to visit the village fair every year. That's all for today. Sending you my best wishes. Yours truly, Rocky

  • Cricket match you have witnessed (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your friend describing a cricket match you have witnessed particularly touching on the performance of Bangladesh in the World Cup, England' 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. Dear 'Abir', I am awfully excited! What a nice performance of the Bangladesh team in the World Cup Cricket'99 is! Bangladesh has played five teams in the World Cup'…. And the overall performance is satisfactory. I think by beating Scotland and Pakistan, Bangladesh team made all the cricket fan surprised. It is a great achievement for us. Possibly you witnessed the match between our team and Pakistan team held in Northampton on May 31, …... The rival team won the toss and opted for bowling. Everyone in the world took it for guaranteed that Pakistan would win the match. But our team very successfully took the match under its control and defeated Pakistan by 62 runs. For Bangladesh it is an achievement and a dramatic win. It cleared the way for Bangladesh to be a permanent member of Test World in cricket. You see, my thrills and joy knew no bounds when our team returned in flying colours. Please let me know your reaction. Convey my best compliments to your parents and love to you. Yours ever, 'Raina' Write a letter to your friend telling him/her describing about the exciting cricket match 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear ‘A’, Thanks for your letter. Today I am telling you about the exciting cricket match I have witnessed at the Abahani playground in Dhaka. It was played between Surya Tarun and Kalabagan club. Surya Tarun won the toss and the captain decided to bat. One of the opening batsmen was out after scoring only six runs giving a catch to the wicket keeper. Surya Tarun’s captain saved the prestige of the team by scoring 109 with four sixes and ten fours. They were all out with a good total of 213 runs. Kalabagan had good spinners but they were averagely good in case of batting. Kalabagan reached near the target very hard. From the last over they had to collect 13 runs to win. The score was 201 for eight after 49 over. As Kalabagan needed 13 runs from 6 balls, the batsmen in the pitch were in tension. First, they made a mutual discussion and tried to make themselves free from tension. The first bowl of the last over did not let Kalabagan collect any run. But the second ball of the last over brought six runs for the Kalabagan Club. The third ball was unfortunately dotted. But the fourth ball brought four runs. The fifth ball reached the deep zone of the play ground but the fielders fielded well and so Kalabagan got only one run. So, Kalabagan needed two runs to win from the last ball. The batsman of Kalabagan batted the ball blindly. God favoured him and it was four runs. Kalabagan reached their target hard. Kalabagan defeated Surya Tarun Club by two wickets after facing a hard contest. This game was very important for Kalabagan because their chance to play in the quarter final was fully dependent on the victory of this match. Really, I was very much excited witnessing the match. It made me delighted for the time being. This is all for today. With love and best wishes. Yours ever, Tahseen

Write a letter to your friend describing your daily life. • Cultural function (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your cousin describing how you enjoyed your cultural function at school. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Rana, I have not heard from for a long time. Hope that all of you are keeping well. You will be glad to know that we observed our annual cultural function last week. On the occasion our school campus and the surroundings of the play ground were decorated with colourful papers, festoons etc. The main stage was also decorated with flowers, balloons etc. The honourable secretary of Education was the chief guest of the function. When the chief guest arrived, the scouts of our school gave him a guard of honour. The function began just at 10.30 am. with the recitation from the holy Quran. The function was presided over by our Headmaster. Then, one of the students announced the scheduled programmes. After that the performers of each class started to perform on the stage. Someone danced, someone sang, someone told jakes and some recited poems. There were also some group performances. Our class had been chosen to put on a play. So, after one month rehearsal, we performed on the stage quite well. This play had been written by our class teacher. Ours was the last presentation. Then the chief guest gave a very glorifying speech which encouraged us to do better in future. He also advised us to build up a good character. At last our Headmaster thanked the distinguished guest and others present on the occassion. Altogether, it was a pleasant day for me. I’m quite well. No more today, with best regards to your parents and good wishes to you. Yours affectionately, ‘Farin’

  • Crisis you face in your town (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your friend about the crisis you face in your town. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Arif, I am in receipt of your letter of the March 12, 2022. In it you mentioned about the crisis of the town. You have expressed that you are sometimes fed up with living in town. I fully agree with you on this point. I have been born and brought up in town. But as the days are passing, I find that the town becomes full of crisis. The people living in the towns suffer from different types of crisis. It is very costly to live in town. People in towns find life very busy and routined. They can hardly ever stand at one place for long. They are continuously entrapped in motion and rush. They must move as must the water of the river. Everyone tries to have his interests fulfilled. So they are selfish to the backbone. At every step a person meets deceit, fraud and dishonesty in the city. People have little or no sympathy for one another. The town grows in a small area with a large population. The houses here are congested. Light and air cannot enter into it freely. Here life is threatened by severe environmental pollutions caused by dust, smoke, buzz, smell of carbon mono-oxide, continuous obnoxious sounds of motor vehicles and factories, filths and hardened touch of bricks tiles and pavements. Cars, buses, taxies, lorries, scooters and rickshaws ply along the streets from morning to midnight. There are street accidents, traffic jams. All these tell upon the nerves of the people living in the town. I do not know when and how the people of towns can get rid of these crises. However, hope for the best so that we can ensure a happy and healthy environment for the future generation. This is all for today. Hope you in sound health and joyful time. With love and best wishes. Yours ever, Tahseen

  • climate condition of your country (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your pen friend about the climate condition of your native country. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Rifat, Your sweet note has anchored my heart. In it you mentioned the natural beauties and climate condition of your country. Indeed the description has attracted me a lot and tempted me to visit your country. However, you wanted to know about the climate condition of my native country. Here it is. Bangladesh is a darling child of Nature. Nature has adorned her with unique beauty. The climate of Bangladesh is subtropical and tropical with temperatures ranging from an average daytime low of 21°C in the cold season to a top of 35°C in the hot season. Really no other country in the world is so blessed with natural golden crops of paddy and evergreen leaves of trees. There are six seasons in Bangladesh. They are summer, rainy season, autumn, late autumn, winter and spring. The six seasons of the year coming by turns make Bangladesh a land of beauty, variety and plenty. Three quarters of the annual rainfall occurs between June and September. The 90% to 95% humidity in this season is almost unbearably for some travellers. The humidity remains high all year round; producing the thick fogs of winter, and making chilly nights in the north feel much colder than they are. Besides, the sky in an autumn night studded with innumerable stars appears to be a dreamland to the on-lookers. The moonlit night with her pleasant beam also makes one forgetful of everything and takes one to a dreamland of imagination. Indeed no one can deny that Bangladesh is a matchless beauty on the earth. I am happy to have been born in such a beautiful country. This is all for today. I think this will satisfy your curiosity in brief. Best regards to the elders. Love to you Tahseen
