Write a letter to your younger brother describing some interesting features of English course. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Tahseen, I have received your recent letter. I came to know about your studies and other activities. You wanted to know about the system of our English course. It is good for you to know about it because you are going to face this next year. The syllabus of S.S.C. English has been fully changed. Traditional system is totally removed from the new plan. There was much opportunity of cramming lessons for the students. As they were addicted to cram, they were losing there originality. The students crammed more instead of learning. So they became weak in English. The authority observed it and planned for a new syllabus. This system of syllabus is called communicative system. According to this syllabus, students must learn the basic knowledge of English, as there is no opportunity of cramming. The main features of this syllabus is, ‘seen comprehension, unseen comprehension, multiple choice, true/false, completing passage, writing similar passage providing on the paper, and other creative and imaginative writings. If any student wants to make a good result, he must possess the basic knowledge, creativity, imaginative power. Different experiences are also necessary for doing well in the examination. As our country is not so much rich in English, it will sometimes bring bad effects for our students. For continuing this system, teachers must be well-trained. I think that the percentage of passing will become less, as most of our students are weak in English. So, I advise you to give more importance in English. Hope you in sound health and joyful time. With love and best wishes. Yours affectionately, Tahseen

  • climate condition of your country (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your pen friend about the climate condition of your native country. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Rifat, Your sweet note has anchored my heart. In it you mentioned the natural beauties and climate condition of your country. Indeed the description has attracted me a lot and tempted me to visit your country. However, you wanted to know about the climate condition of my native country. Here it is. Bangladesh is a darling child of Nature. Nature has adorned her with unique beauty. The climate of Bangladesh is subtropical and tropical with temperatures ranging from an average daytime low of 21°C in the cold season to a top of 35°C in the hot season. Really no other country in the world is so blessed with natural golden crops of paddy and evergreen leaves of trees. There are six seasons in Bangladesh. They are summer, rainy season, autumn, late autumn, winter and spring. The six seasons of the year coming by turns make Bangladesh a land of beauty, variety and plenty. Three quarters of the annual rainfall occurs between June and September. The 90% to 95% humidity in this season is almost unbearably for some travellers. The humidity remains high all year round; producing the thick fogs of winter, and making chilly nights in the north feel much colder than they are. Besides, the sky in an autumn night studded with innumerable stars appears to be a dreamland to the on-lookers. The moonlit night with her pleasant beam also makes one forgetful of everything and takes one to a dreamland of imagination. Indeed no one can deny that Bangladesh is a matchless beauty on the earth. I am happy to have been born in such a beautiful country. This is all for today. I think this will satisfy your curiosity in brief. Best regards to the elders. Love to you Tahseen

  • Regarding a computer (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your friend telling him basic things regarding a computer. 5th Janurary, 2022 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Rifat, Your sweet note has just anchored my heart. Going through the letter I came to know that your school is going to start computer classes very soon. As you are very interested in learning more about computers, I am going to tell you about some basic things regarding a computer. Computer is an ultra modern electronic device for storing and analysing information fed into it. A computer consists of five major components  the input unit, the output unit, the memory unit, the control unit and the arithmetic unit. The input unit and the output unit consist of devices that permit a computer to receive or exhibit information. The memory unit, the control unit and the arithmetic unit make up the central processing unit (CPU). This CPU looks like a box. It has a motherboard, the chip, the cards and the RAMs in it. Monitor is another main part of the computer. It works like a TV screen. It shows whatever it is asked to do. Another main part is the keyboard which is just like a typewriter. There is a mouse in the computer. This mouse is a trigonometrical shaped thing that sits by the keyboard. Actually it is called the mouse because of its shape. You can do different things by clicking on the icons with the mouse. However, every computer has its own machine language. Instruction to the computer must be given in this language since this is the only language that a computer actually understands. This is all for today. You will know more about it when you begin to use it. Hope you in sound health and joyful time. With love. Yours affectionately, Tahseen

  • The importance of communicative English (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

Write a letter to your friend telling him the importance of communicative English. 15, Chanmari Road Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong. My dear Tahseen, I received your recent letter and I'm glad to hear from you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the importance of communicative English. It's indeed a crucial topic in our education system. The transition from the traditional English syllabus to the communicative system marks a significant shift in our approach to learning. In the traditional system, students often resorted to rote memorization, leading to a lack of originality and true understanding of the language. Recognizing this issue, authorities have introduced the communicative syllabus to foster a more practical and interactive learning experience. Under the communicative system, students are encouraged to engage in various activities that promote active communication and comprehension skills. This includes tasks such as seen and unseen comprehension, multiple-choice questions, true/false statements, completing passages, and creative writing exercises. By focusing on these aspects, students develop a deeper understanding of the language and enhance their ability to express themselves effectively. Moreover, the emphasis on creative and imaginative writing encourages students to think critically and express their ideas in a coherent manner. This not only improves their language proficiency but also enhances their overall cognitive skills. Given the challenges students face in mastering English, especially in our country, the communicative syllabus offers a more effective approach to language learning. It not only equips students with essential language skills but also instills confidence in their ability to communicate fluently. I appreciate your insights on this matter, and I agree that we should prioritize the study of English to excel in today's globalized world. I hope this finds you in good health and spirits. Take care, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. With warm regards, Tamim

The market was bustling with activity, being a holiday, and we ventured into various shops to buy some odds and ends. At one point, Meena suggested we visit a new dress shop, where Susan found a dress she liked and purchased it. As we continued to stroll through the market, I suddenly felt a push from behind. I was left feeling distraught. My bag contained important items such as my room key, identity card, valuable belongings, and all my money. We lodged complaint towards the market authority. But who cares? At last we came back to the hostel. Meena and Susan were also disappointed. They tried to console me. • Describing your experiences after visiting friend’s house (Letter, Application & Email Writing)

A letter to your mother describing your experiences after visiting friend’s house August 25, 2018 17, Amtala Road, Dhaka-1206 My dear mother, Peace be on you through the mercy of Almighty. At the very outset, I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and spirit. I am writing to share my experiences after visiting my friend’s house, as you requested in your recent letter. I must say, it was an incredible experience. My friend’s house is situated in a typical Bangladeshi village, and the atmosphere there was a welcome change from the busy city life. The scenery was breathtaking, and the rustic simplicity of the people there was refreshing. They treated me like family and made me feel at home. During my visit, I got to try different fruits, which were so fresh and delicious. I also had the opportunity to take a bath in the nearby river, and walk along the riverbank, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The food was exceptional, especially the freshly caught fish and locally grown vegetables, which were cooked on a stove made of mud. I also got to try a variety of cakes, which were prepared to entertain me. What I enjoyed most was the tranquillity of the place. Unlike the city, there was no noise or dust, and the roads were not congested with traffic. I felt a sense of calm and relaxation that I had not experienced in a long time. Sadly, my visit had to come to an end due to my upcoming examinations. However, I promised my friend’s family that I would return and invited them to visit us in the city. I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. Please give my regards to father, and convey my love to my brother. Take care of yourself, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. With love and best wishes, [Your Name]

The main reason is that for the last two weeks, a devastating  flood has been visiting our area. All the students have been suffering terribly and could not take proper preparation. No electricity supply is available. In these circumstances, on behalf of our school, I, therefore, expect that you will hold our said examination one week later. Yours obediently Refat On behalf of the students of class X. Model -2 18 December 2022 The Headmaster, BI High School, Sirajgonj. Subject: Request to Postpone Test Examination by One Week Dear Sir, I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of concern regarding the upcoming test examination scheduled at our school. As representatives of the students of class X, we wish to express our sincere request to postpone the test examination by one week. We have encountered significant challenges in adequately preparing for the examination due to unforeseen circumstances, primarily the recent devastating flood that has affected our area for the past two weeks. The aftermath of the flood has resulted in widespread disruption, rendering it extremely difficult for students to focus on their studies. Additionally, the lack of electricity supply further compounds the situation, hindering our ability to access study materials and prepare effectively. In light of these extraordinary circumstances, we believe that postponing the test examination by one week would afford us the necessary time to overcome these challenges and adequately prepare for the examination. We are confident that this extension would enable us to approach the examination with the level of readiness required to perform to the best of our abilities.
