IELTS Speaking Part-1 Family Activities

How often do you meet with your family?

Due to our busy schedules, we don’t see each other during the day. However, in the evening, we come together for dinner, watch TV, and discuss our day. If I move out in the future, I plan to set aside time to visit my parents at least twice a week.

How do you spend time with your family?

We enjoy a big, delicious dinner with scrumptious food prepared by my mom. After dinner, around 7 o'clock, we either watch the news, chat with each other, or huddle together to play cards. It’s a precious time for us to briefly escape the hectic whirlwind of daily life.

Do you want to live with your family in the future?

Probably not. I think it’s important for me to start an independent life as an adult. However, I still feel responsible for taking good care of my parents and will make time to visit them at least twice a week.

What activities does your family like doing together?

We often have dinner together and, on weekends, enjoy eating out or engaging in outdoor activities. Sometimes, we take a family trip to the beach to unwind on our free days.

What activities did your family do when you were young?

When I was little, my family frequently went on picnics. We’d prepare slap-up snacks and sit together to enjoy them. These family outings were wonderful for strengthening our bonds.

Are you close to your family members?

Yes, my parents are quite traditional but have always made an effort to foster a strong bond between us. They take good care of my brother and me and offer guidance in various aspects of life.

How has your family influenced you?

My parents, while traditional, have always been supportive friends who encouraged me without imposing their expectations. They instilled in me important values such as respect, humility, patience, and diligence. My family has played a significant role in shaping who I am today, and I am deeply grateful for them.
