A dialogue between two friends about the importance of learning computer.
Adil: Hello, Sajid! How are you doing today?
Sajid: Hi, Adil! I am doing great, thank you. How are you?
Adil: I am fine too. But I am a little worried about my future career.
Sajid: Why are you worried? You are a very good student.
Adil: Yes, but I have no practical knowledge of computers. Is it really that important to learn it?
Sajid: Oh, absolutely! In today’s world, learning computer is a must. You cannot even think of getting a good job without it.
Adil: Really? I thought my good SSC result would be enough to get a job later.
Sajid: Good results are very important, but practical skills are necessary too. Nowadays, computers are used everywhere—in banks, hospitals, schools, and all offices.
Adil: That is true. I noticed that even our SSC exam routines and results are published online now.
Sajid: Exactly! Besides, for higher education, you will need to use a computer and the internet to find books, read articles, and gather information.
Adil: I understand now. It seems that without computer knowledge, a person is almost like an illiterate man in this digital age.
Sajid: You are absolutely right. Knowing how to operate a computer saves a lot of time and makes our daily work so much easier. You can also communicate with people all over the world very quickly.
Adil: That sounds amazing. But how can I start learning?
Sajid: You have lots of free time after the SSC exams. You can join a short basic training course. In fact, I am planning to join one next week.
Adil: That is a great idea! We can take admission and learn together.
Sajid: Yes, we will. It will be fun and very helpful for our future.
Adil: Thank you so much, Sajid, for your excellent advice.
Sajid: You are most welcome, Adil. Take care and see you soon!
A dialogue between two friends about the necessity of computer in daily life.
Rina: Good morning, Mina!
Mina: Good morning, Rina! Where are you going so early in the morning?
Rina: I am going to a computer training center near our school to take my admission.
Mina: That is great! But our SSC exams just finished. Why don't you take some rest and enjoy your holidays?
Rina: I have plenty of free time now. Instead of wasting it, I want to use this time properly to learn about computers.
Mina: Is learning computer really that essential for us right now?
Rina: Yes, it is very essential. The computer is the greatest invention of modern science. It has changed the whole world and made our life so much faster.
Mina: Can you tell me a bit more about its daily importance?
Rina: Of course. Think about the internet connection on a computer. You can find any information you need for your studies in just one click. It is like having a magic library at home.
Mina: Yes, I use my smartphone for some of that. But is a computer really different?
Rina: Yes, it is. For professional work, typing documents, making slide presentations, and doing big math calculations, a computer is much more powerful.
Mina: I see. My elder brother also says that he cannot do a single day of office work without his laptop.
Rina: Exactly! In the modern world, everywhere from railway ticket counters to big space stations, computers are doing the main work.
Mina: You have opened my eyes, Rina. If I do not learn how to use it now, I will surely fall behind in life.
Rina: Do not worry at all. The course I am joining is for beginners. Why don't you come with me and join the class?
Mina: That is a wonderful suggestion! Let me go home and talk to my parents about it. I will surely try to join you tomorrow.
Rina: I will wait for you. We will have a great time learning together.
Mina: Thank you so much, Rina. Have a good day!
Rina: You are welcome. Bye!

Rahim: You are right. What are you learning there?
Karim: I am learning typing, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet browsing.
Rahim: Is it difficult for you?
Karim: Not really. At first it was a little difficult, but now I am improving. Regular practice makes it easy.
Rahim: How many days do you go to the center?

Rafiq: Thank you for explaining everything so clearly.
A Dialogue Between Myself and My Friend About Compulsory Free Primary Education
Hasna: Well, Akifa, have you noticed that there's an increased awareness among people about the importance of education? They no longer hesitate to send their children to school.
Akifa: Right. I think all the boys and girls in our village have now joined school. This is because of the compulsory free primary education program.
Hasna: You know, it was first introduced in one thana in each district from January 1, 1992.
Akifa: Why wasn’t it introduced throughout the whole country?
Hasna: In fact, it couldn’t be introduced everywhere due to several problems.
Akifa: Problems? What could the problems be in such an important matter?
Hasna: Yes, there were many practical issues — lack of sufficient funds, trained teachers, suitable syllabuses, books, school accommodation, and furniture. Even when these issues were largely solved, other problems arose which were even more serious and difficult to overcome.
Akifa: What are those problems?
Hasna: Well, apathy towards education among children and their families, and a large number of drop-outs.
Akifa: How strange! How can children lose interest in education? How can their families be indifferent to this? It’s really surprising!
Hasna: Not at all, Akifa. Most of our people are illiterate and poor. They don’t understand the importance of education. Even when they understand, they can’t afford to send their children to school. The parents often need their children to work to support the family income instead of sending them to school.
Akifa: I see. That’s a serious issue. But this problem seems to apply only to the boys. Girls are not sent out to work. What about them?
Hasna: The situation for girls is even more difficult. Parents often see their daughters as a burden. Additionally, many girls have to work as domestic helpers in wealthy households to earn money for their families.
Akifa: Now, I realize the complexity of the issue. It’s really a complicated social problem. How is it being addressed?
Hasna: As I’ve already mentioned, general awareness has been raised about the necessity of education and the harmful effects of discrimination between boys and girls. The government has also introduced the "Food for Education" program, which provides financial support to parents. Along with offering free education and materials, the government also gives money to compensate for the loss of family income. This has greatly boosted primary education for all.
Akifa: That’s a very good government initiative. Just compulsion wouldn't have worked. So, compulsory education alone is not enough; it needs to be backed by programs like "Food for Education."
Hasna: Exactly! This support is crucial for the success of compulsory education. Well, I have to go now, but let’s talk again soon.
Akifa: Sure! Take care, Hasna.
Hasna: Goodbye, Akifa. See you soon!
