We would like to venture to voice views about the problem of the toll collectors in our locality. For the last several months some anti-social elements are in operation in this area. They rob the passer-by their valuables at the point of dagger. Sometimes they wander with revolvers and bombs and raid shops, houses and banks. The local shopkeepers are totally fed up with these anti­socials. Sometimes these bad elements turn violent and destroy public and private properties for flimsy issues. We, the inhabitants of this area have tried to bring this to your kind notice for many times but with no result.

We, therefore, request you to take necessary action against these toll collectors and ensure security and peace in this locality.

With due respect, I, on behalf of the inhabitants of Lalbag, Dhaka, beg to inform you that the law and order  situation of Lablag area has deteriorated tremendously in the recent months. Now the whole area is in the grip of the illegal toll collectors . A gang of toll collectors very often demands (harass) the passengers of rickshaws, auto-rickshaws or private cars showin unlicensed gun i arms. No construction work is. possible without toll in our areas. Even they create disturbance entering hotels, shops and even residential areas. If anyone refuses to fulfill their demand he is severely tortured. In a word, people are passing their days in an alarming situation. If the toll collectors are not stamped out immediately, our existence will tecome quite impossible.

I, therefore, you are requested to take proper steps immediately to curve the menace of toll collectors in our area so that we may live in peace and safe.
