Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves
Once upon a time, there lived a poor woodcutter named Ali Baba. He lived in a small village on the edge of a great desert. One day, while Ali Baba was cutting wood in the forest, he saw a group of forty robbers riding towards a cave in the mountains. The robbers carried bags of treasure, and they appeared to be very powerful. They stopped at the entrance of the cave, and the leader of the robbers said a magical phrase, “Open Sesame!” The cave door opened, and the robbers entered, disappearing inside.
Curious, Ali Baba waited for the robbers to leave. After a while, they came out, carrying more treasure. The leader of the robbers closed the cave door, saying “Close Sesame!” Ali Baba watched carefully, and once the robbers had left, he rushed to the cave. With his heart beating fast, he whispered the magical words, “Open Sesame!” To his surprise, the door opened. Inside, he found piles of gold, silver, and jewels.
Ali Baba took a few bags of treasure and hurried home, keeping his discovery a secret. He was careful not to tell anyone, especially his greedy brother, Cassim. But Cassim, noticing his brother’s strange behavior, insisted on knowing what had happened. Ali Baba finally told him the secret of the cave and the magical words.
Cassim, eager for wealth, went to the cave the next day. He tried to repeat the magical words, but in his excitement, he forgot the correct phrase. “Open Door!” he shouted. Nothing happened. After trying several times, Cassim finally managed to remember the words and entered the cave. He loaded his donkey with as much treasure as he could carry.
However, Cassim forgot to remember the magic words to close the door. When he tried to leave, the door wouldn’t open. He became trapped inside the cave. The robbers returned and found Cassim in the cave. They killed him for being a thief, and left his body there.
When Ali Baba learned what had happened, he went to the cave to retrieve his brother’s body. He buried Cassim and returned home, but the robbers soon realized that someone else had discovered their secret. They made a plan to catch Ali Baba and take back the treasure.
The robbers followed Ali Baba home, but they were outsmarted by Ali Baba’s clever servant girl, Morgiana. She discovered their plan and warned Ali Baba. In the end, Morgiana tricked the robbers and saved Ali Baba’s life. With the robbers defeated, Ali Baba kept the treasure and lived happily ever after.
Moral: Greed can lead to dangerous consequences, but intelligence, kindness, and bravery can help overcome challenges.
Ali Baba and Robbers
There lived two brothers in Baghdad. Kashem and Ali Baba were their names. Ali Baba was a poor tailor. He was very simple and honest. He often used to go to the forest to collect wood for cooking food. On the other hand, Kashem was a greedy man. He did not help his own brother at the time of his poverty.
One day when Ali Baba was in the forest in search of wood he saw a gang of forty robbers coming into the forest on horse-back. He got frightened, but did not lose control over himself. He hid himself behind a big tree and watched the robbers. They went to a cave and the gang-leader shouted, “Khul Zao Chim Chim.” A huge door opened and the robbers went inside. Ali Baba got puzzled to see that. After some time the robbers came back, the ring-leader shouted, “Bandh Ho Zao Chim Chim.” The door closed behind and the robbers rode away.
Ali Baba had curiosity to see what was there in the cave. So he went to the cave and uttered, “Khul Zao Chim Chim.” The door opened and he entered into the cave. He was astonished to see the cave full of rubies, pearls, diamonds, emeralds and very costly jwelleries. He filled bag with those valuable things, came out of the cave and uttered those mystical words. The door closed and Ali put the sack full of jwelleries on the back of his donkey and came home.
His wife and children were very happy to see Jwelleries. Ali planned to sell some of them in the market. So he asked for a scale for his brother Kashem. After weighing jwelleries he returned the scale. But he did not observe perfectly that there was a golden chain attached under the scale. When kashem saw it, he could realize the matter. He went to his brother Ali and asked about the matter. As Ali had no greed and jealousy, he told the whole fact. Kashem thought that if he went the cave, he would get more jwelleries. Thinking so he went and uttered the magical words which were taught by Ali Baba. And he filled all his sacks. But when he was coming he forgot the last magical words. So the gate did not open. And he could not come out the gate. Then the robbers came and killed him cruelly. So there is a significant lesson that grasps all, lost all.
