Lina is a student of class ten. One day in the afternoon she was gossiping with her friend beside a pond near her house. While gossiping she noticed two small boys quarreling over a trifling matter. She did not take it seriously thinking that their quarrel would come to an end soon. But the quarrel was going on. All on a sudden, one boy hit the other. The other boy returned the blow. Both of them got hurt, and returned home calling each other names. They told the incident to their parents. Next morning, both the boys' fathers met each other. They asked for an explanation of the incident from each other. Each of them was obstinate to save his own son, and they too involved in a quarrel. Both of them had gangsters of their own, and they began to fight in the afternoon. Many men were wounded, and were taken to the upazila hospital. Some others fled to save themselves. A complaint was filed to the village arbitrator. The judge came to know that the fight had originated from a quarrel of two small boys, and a girl named Lina had witnessed it. She was summoned to the meeting, and she narrated the whole happening. Now, it was clear that they had quarreled over a simple matter. The arbitrator rebuked the two boys' fathers, and fined both of them with a good amount of money. He also told them to teach their sons the value of tolerance. He said, "A simple thing has ridiculously become a serious issue." While the trial was going on, surprisingly the two boys were playing and having fun between themselves.

Allah Alone Can Help a Man

In the streets of Rome, there were two blind men who lived by begging. Every day, they sat on the road and asked for alms. One of them would call out, “Allah alone can help a man,” while the other would say, “The king alone can help a man.” When people gave them coins, the first blind man would say, “May Allah bless you,” and the second would say, “May the king be pleased with you.”

One day, the king passed by and overheard the two men. He was impressed by the second blind man who praised him. The king wanted to help him, so he returned to his palace and called one of his servants. He handed the servant a loaf of bread filled with gold coins and said, “Go down this road and find the blind man who is shouting, ‘The king alone can help a man.’ Give him this bread and tell him, ‘The king has sent this for you.’”

The servant set out to find the blind man. After walking for a while, he spotted the second blind man. He gave him the loaf of bread and said, “Here is a bread from the king. You may eat it.”

The second blind man felt the bread and thought it was too heavy and poorly baked. So, he decided to sell it to the first blind man. The first blind man, after buying the bread, cut it open and was surprised to find gold coins inside. “Oh Allah, how merciful You are!” he exclaimed in joy. He stopped begging from that day onwards.

As time passed, the king again walked down the same road and saw the second blind man still begging. The king wondered, “I sent him gold coins. Why is he still begging?” The king approached him and asked, “What did you do with the bread I sent you?”

The second blind man replied, “Your Majesty, I thought the bread was poorly baked, so I sold it to my fellow blind man.”

The king smiled and said, “From this, you must learn that Allah alone can help a man, not the king.”

Moral: True help comes from Allah alone, and relying on worldly sources without faith in divine assistance may lead to missed blessings.

একদিন, রাজা পাশ দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন এবং দুজন লোকের কথা শুনতে পেলেন। দ্বিতীয় অন্ধ লোকটি তার প্রশংসা করে মুগ্ধ হয়ে গেলেন। রাজা তাকে সাহায্য করতে চেয়েছিলেন, তাই তিনি তার প্রাসাদে ফিরে এসে তার একজন ভৃত্যকে ডাকলেন। তিনি ভৃত্যকে সোনার মুদ্রা ভর্তি একটি রুটি দিলেন এবং বললেন, "এই রাস্তা দিয়ে যাও এবং সেই অন্ধ লোকটিকে খুঁজে বের করো যে চিৎকার করছে, 'একমাত্র রাজাই একজন মানুষকে সাহায্য করতে পারেন।' তাকে এই রুটি দাও এবং বলো, 'রাজা তোমার জন্য এটা পাঠিয়েছেন।'"

ভৃত্য অন্ধ লোকটিকে খুঁজতে বেরিয়ে পড়ল। কিছুক্ষণ হাঁটার পর, সে দ্বিতীয় অন্ধ লোকটিকে দেখতে পেল। সে তাকে রুটিটা দিয়ে বলল, “এই নাও রাজার কাছ থেকে পাওয়া একটা রুটি। তুমি এটা খেতে পারো।”

দ্বিতীয় অন্ধ লোকটি রুটিটা অনুভব করল এবং ভাবল যে এটা খুব ভারী এবং খারাপভাবে সেঁকা। তাই, সে প্রথম অন্ধ লোকটির কাছে এটি বিক্রি করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল। প্রথম অন্ধ লোকটি রুটিটি কিনে তা কেটে ভেতরে সোনার মুদ্রা দেখতে পেয়ে অবাক হয়ে গেল। “হে আল্লাহ, তুমি কত দয়ালু!” সে আনন্দে চিৎকার করে উঠল। সেদিন থেকে সে ভিক্ষা করা বন্ধ করে দিল।

সময় গড়ে ওঠার সাথে সাথে, রাজা আবার একই রাস্তা দিয়ে হেঁটে গেল এবং দ্বিতীয় অন্ধ লোকটিকে এখনও ভিক্ষা করতে দেখল। রাজা অবাক হয়ে বললেন, “আমি তাকে সোনার মুদ্রা পাঠিয়েছিলাম। সে এখনও কেন ভিক্ষা করছে?” রাজা তার কাছে এসে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আমি তোমাকে যে রুটি পাঠিয়েছিলাম তা দিয়ে তুমি কী করেছ?”

দ্বিতীয় অন্ধ লোকটি উত্তর দিল, “মহারাজ, আমি ভেবেছিলাম রুটিটা খারাপভাবে সেঁকা হয়েছে, তাই আমি আমার সহকর্মী অন্ধ লোকটির কাছে এটি বিক্রি করে দিয়েছি।”

রাজা হেসে বললেন, “এখান থেকে, তোমার অবশ্যই শিখতে হবে যে একমাত্র আল্লাহই একজন মানুষকে সাহায্য করতে পারেন, রাজার নয়।”

নীতি: প্রকৃত সাহায্য একমাত্র আল্লাহর কাছ থেকে আসে, এবং ঐশ্বরিক সাহায্যে বিশ্বাস না করে পার্থিব উৎসের উপর নির্ভর করলে আশীর্বাদ থেকে বঞ্চিত হতে পারে।
