Receiving the call stirred a mix of curiosity and anxiety within me. Despite my attempts to engage the caller in conversation, they remained silent, leaving me perplexed. Ignoring the call initially didn't deter the persistent caller, and my pulse quickened with each subsequent ring. Summoning courage, I answered once more, hoping for some clarity.

To my surprise, the caller spoke in a mysterious tone, claiming to be a childhood friend who remembered me vividly despite my own forgetfulness. Their cryptic words left me unsettled, and before I could gather more information, the call abruptly ended, leaving me with more questions than answers. Attempting to call back proved fruitless, as the caller's phone was switched off.

The encounter weighed heavily on my mind, distracting me from my studies and affecting my sleep. As dawn broke, I made another attempt to reach out, only to be met with the same result. The uncertainty of the situation gnawed at me, until I confided in my close friend Rafiq.
