Colleges and universities are two very important places for higher education in our country. After passing the higher secondary exams, students go to these places to get their higher degrees and build a good life. But there are some big differences between a college and a university. In our country, most of the colleges are run by the National University. A college cannot make its own syllabus, rules, or exam routine. It must always follow the strict instructions of the main university. On the other hand, a public university is totally free to make its own rules, syllabus, and exam routines. A university is also much bigger than a normal college. It has a very large campus, big libraries filled with many books, modern science laboratories, and big residential halls for students to live in. Colleges usually have smaller areas and fewer facilities. Also, a university has many highly educated and skilled teachers. These teachers get good facilities and can give more time to teach their students properly. So, the teaching system in a university is very advanced and helpful. But in many colleges, there is often a sad lack of expert teachers and proper teaching materials. Because of this high quality, a university degree has much more value in the job market than a college degree. When students from universities look for jobs, they get a little more preference. College students sometimes face different problems and feel sad. However, both colleges and universities are doing a great job today.
