There lived a buffalo and fox in a jungle on the bank of a river. They were great friends one day the fox said to the buffalo “oh, friend, there is a fine green field of maize, it stands on the other side of the river. the maize plant is good for a hearty meal for you. Moreover, I shall get crabs and fish by the side of the river. please take me across the river.

The buffalo agreed to this proposal. So he asked and began to eat. The fox began to run up and down the bank of the river. he was in search of crabs and fish. He ate more and more crabs that he could find. As the fox was smaller than the buffalo, he could satisfy his hunger in a short time. But this time the buffalo could not eat as much as he needed. Meanwhile the fox began to run about in the field in joy. He did not forget to howl with all his might. The villagers heard the fox howling.

The villagers came out of the villager in a body to drive the fox away. But to their surprise they found not only a fox but also a buffalo. They fell on the poor buffalo with sticks and beat him black and blue. Then they followed the fox. Bu they could do no harm to the cunning beast. Soon they became tired, gave up chasing the fox and went home, then the fox came up to the buffalo and said, “It would be better for us to home now. “The buffalo got very angry upon the fox, and said to himself, “I well teach you a good lesson” So he said, very well, get upon my back as you had done before.

The fox, got upon the buffalo’s back. Once again the buffalo began to cross the river. soon they got into the water. The buffalo said to fox.

Allah Alone Can Help a Man

In the streets of Rome, there were two blind men who lived by begging. Every day, they sat on the road and asked for alms. One of them would call out, “Allah alone can help a man,” while the other would say, “The king alone can help a man.” When people gave them coins, the first blind man would say, “May Allah bless you,” and the second would say, “May the king be pleased with you.”

One day, the king passed by and overheard the two men. He was impressed by the second blind man who praised him. The king wanted to help him, so he returned to his palace and called one of his servants. He handed the servant a loaf of bread filled with gold coins and said, “Go down this road and find the blind man who is shouting, ‘The king alone can help a man.’ Give him this bread and tell him, ‘The king has sent this for you.’”

The servant set out to find the blind man. After walking for a while, he spotted the second blind man. He gave him the loaf of bread and said, “Here is a bread from the king. You may eat it.”

The second blind man felt the bread and thought it was too heavy and poorly baked. So, he decided to sell it to the first blind man. The first blind man, after buying the bread, cut it open and was surprised to find gold coins inside. “Oh Allah, how merciful You are!” he exclaimed in joy. He stopped begging from that day onwards.

As time passed, the king again walked down the same road and saw the second blind man still begging. The king wondered, “I sent him gold coins. Why is he still begging?” The king approached him and asked, “What did you do with the bread I sent you?”

The second blind man replied, “Your Majesty, I thought the bread was poorly baked, so I sold it to my fellow blind man.”

The king smiled and said, “From this, you must learn that Allah alone can help a man, not the king.”

Moral: True help comes from Allah alone, and relying on worldly sources without faith in divine assistance may lead to missed blessings.

নদীর ধারে এক জঙ্গলে এক মহিষ আর শিয়াল থাকত। একদিন তারা খুব ভালো বন্ধু ছিল। শিয়াল মহিষকে বলল, “ওহ, বন্ধু, নদীর ওপারে একটা সুন্দর সবুজ ভুট্টার ক্ষেত আছে। তোমার জন্য ভুট্টার গাছটা বেশ ভালো। তাছাড়া, নদীর ধারে আমি কাঁকড়া আর মাছ নিয়ে আসব। দয়া করে আমাকে নদীর ওপারে নিয়ে যাও।”

মহিষ এই প্রস্তাবে রাজি হয়ে যায়। তাই সে বলল এবং খেতে শুরু করে। শিয়াল নদীর ধারে দৌড়াতে শুরু করে। সে কাঁকড়া আর মাছের খোঁজে ছিল। যত কাঁকড়া পাও তত খায়। শিয়াল মহিষের চেয়ে ছোট ছিল, তাই অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই সে তার ক্ষুধা মেটাতে পারত। কিন্তু এবার মহিষ যতটা প্রয়োজন ততটা খেতে পারত না। এদিকে শিয়াল আনন্দে মাঠে দৌড়াতে শুরু করে। সে তার সমস্ত শক্তি দিয়ে চিৎকার করতে ভোলেনি। গ্রামবাসীরা শিয়ালকে চিৎকার করতে শুনতে পেল।

গ্রামবাসীরা শিয়ালকে তাড়ানোর জন্য একজোট হয়ে গ্রামবাসীর কাছ থেকে বেরিয়ে এলো। কিন্তু তারা অবাক হয়ে শুধু একটা শেয়ালই নয়, একটা মহিষও দেখতে পেল। তারা লাঠি দিয়ে বেচারা মহিষের উপর ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ল এবং তাকে কালো ও নীল রঙের মারধর করল। তারপর তারা শিয়ালকে অনুসরণ করল। কিন্তু তারা ধূর্ত জন্তুটির কোনও ক্ষতি করতে পারল না। শীঘ্রই তারা ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়ল, শিয়ালকে তাড়া করা ছেড়ে দিয়ে বাড়ি চলে গেল, তারপর শিয়াল মহিষের কাছে এসে বলল, “এখন আমাদের বাড়ি যাওয়াই ভালো।” মহিষটি শিয়ালটির উপর খুব রেগে গেল এবং নিজেকে বলল, “আমি তোমাকে একটা ভালো শিক্ষা দিচ্ছি।” তাই সে বলল, “ঠিক আছে, আগের মতো আমার পিঠে চড়ে বসো।

শিয়াল, মহিষের পিঠে চড়ে বসলো। আবারও মহিষ নদী পার হতে শুরু করল। শীঘ্রই তারা জলে নামল। মহিষটি শিয়ালকে বলল।
