The Thief of Arabia
Once there was a thief in Saudi Arabia. He used to steal at night. None in the neighborhood could live in peace for fear of him. People grew so much annoyed that they complained about him to the Prophet (Sm).
Hazrat Mohammad (Sm) sent for him. He asked the thief to give up the habit of stealing. The thief bent on his knees and said, “Please, tell me to do whatever you like me to. But don’t tell me to stop stealing.” The Prophet (Sm) thought for a while and said, “O.k. I ask you to do only one thing. It is---you will never tell a lie.” The thief readily agreed and promise to abide by his advice. He became happy and went away.
Now when the day was over and night came, a man saw the thief going along the street. The man said, “Where are you going?” he replied, “ I am going to ….” He could not tell a lie as he promised to the Prophet of Islam not to tell a lie. He fell into a great danger. He could not think anything. When he promised he did not understand the real fact that without telling lie he would not steal. Now what could he do?
He went back home without stealing. The same incident happened in every night. The man could not steal, as he could not tell lie. Without finding any alternative way he went to the Prophet (Sm) and begged his pardon. He gave up stealing and became a good and pious man.

Once upon a time, a noble man built a grand house. The house was so beautiful that nobody could escape his sight from it. If anybody saw it, he would desire for it. The noble man once made an idea about the magnificent house. On the front of the gate. He wrote the words, “This house is to be given to the first man who can prove that he is contented.”
So anybody could be astonished to notice such words. But nobody could realize its significance. One day a stranger knocked at the gate and desired to speak to the noble man. “I have come,” said he, “to take possession of this house, because I can prove that I have contented.”
The noble man said in reply, “There is no trace of contentment in you. If you were contented, you would not wish to me. If you were contented, you would not wish to get possession of my house.” Saying he turned the man out.
A Thief and His Truthful Son
Once upon a time, there was a rich man who owned a beautiful orchard filled with sweet and juicy fruits. Many people admired the orchard, but no one dared to steal from it because the owner was strict.
One night, a thief decided to steal some fruits from the orchard. He took his young son along and told him, "My son, I will climb the tree to pick the fruits. You must keep watch. If you see anyone coming, warn me immediately."
The thief then climbed the tree and began picking the ripe fruits. Just as he was about to pluck a large bunch, his son suddenly cried out, "Father! Come down quickly! Someone is watching you!"
Startled, the thief hurriedly climbed down and looked around. But there was no one in sight. He asked his son, "Where is the person you saw? I don’t see anyone here."
The boy looked at his father with innocent eyes and said, "Father, Allah is watching you. How can you escape from His sight? He knows everything, even if no one else sees you."
Hearing this, the thief was deeply ashamed. He realized that his son was wiser than him. His heart filled with remorse, and at that moment, he decided to give up stealing forever.
The boy's truthfulness and honesty saved his father from a life of crime. A truthful child is a blessing to a family and society. Such children grow up to be honest and responsible citizens, making the world a better place for everyone.
