The Kindness of Haji Mohammad Mohsin

One night, Haji Mohammad Mohsin was sleeping peacefully. Suddenly, at midnight, he heard a strange noise. The sound woke him up, and he opened his eyes. In the dim light, he saw a man moving around in his room. The man was looking for something. Mohsin quickly got up and caught the man. He held him firmly and asked, "Who are you? Why have you entered my room? What are you looking for?"

The man looked frightened. His hands were shaking, and his face was pale. After a moment, he replied in a soft voice, "I am a thief. I came here to steal money." Mohsin looked at him with surprise and asked angrily, "Why don’t you earn money by working? Why have you chosen to become a thief?" The man sighed and said, "I have no work. I have no money to buy food. My family is starving. I had no other choice, so I became a thief."

Mohsin’s anger softened a little, but he still wanted to know more. He asked, "You know that stealing is a big crime. Are you not afraid of punishment?" The thief lowered his head in shame. Then he said with a heavy heart, "I have never stolen before. But yesterday, my little children went to bed without eating anything. They cried the whole night for food. I begged for help, but no one gave me money. I had no other way, so I came here to steal for the first time in my life."

Mohsin looked at the man carefully. He could see the pain in his eyes. He understood that the man was not a bad person, but a helpless father who had no way to feed his family. Mohsin thought for a while and then made a decision. He let go of the man’s hand and said, "I understand your problem. Stealing is not the answer. Hard work and honesty are the real ways to live a good life." Then, Mohsin took some money from his drawer and gave it to the man. He said kindly, "Take this money. Buy food for your children. But promise me one thing—you will never steal again."

The thief could not believe his ears. His eyes filled with tears. He fell at Mohsin’s feet and said, "Sir, you are a great man. Thank you for your kindness. I promise I will never steal again. You have saved me from a bad path." With the money in his hands and hope in his heart, the man left Mohsin’s house. From that day on, he worked hard and earned money honestly. He never stole again and lived a respectable life.

Moral:
Kindness and good advice can change a person’s life. Hard work and honesty lead to success, while stealing only brings shame and punishment.

As his vision adjusted to the darkness, he realized that a man had broken into his house. Without hesitation, he quickly caught hold of the man and asked sternly, "Who are you? Why have you come here?"

The man trembled with fear but answered honestly, "I am a thief. I have come to steal from your house." Haji Mohammad Muhsin was surprised at the man's confession. Instead of getting angry or calling for help, he looked at the thief closely. The man appeared weak, his clothes were torn, and his eyes were filled with desperation. Understanding that the thief was driven by necessity rather than greed, Haji Mohammad Muhsin softened his voice and asked, "Why do you steal? Don’t you know that stealing is a great sin?"

The thief sighed deeply and replied, "I know, sir. But what else can I do? No one gives me work. My family has been starving for four days, and I had no other choice. I have searched for work everywhere, but I failed."

Haji Mohammad Muhsin listened carefully and then said, "You are a strong and able-bodied man. You should not resort to stealing. Hard work and honesty are the true paths to success. If you ask people sincerely, go to workshops, and search for work, you will surely find something. Allah is always kind to those who are honest and hardworking."

The thief lowered his head in shame and said, "I have tried, sir, but no one has given me work. My children cry for food, and my heart cannot bear it." Haji Mohammad Muhsin felt deep sympathy for the man. He took out some money and handed it to him, saying, "Take this money. Buy food for your family and promise me that you will never steal again."

Tears filled the thief’s eyes. He was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the man he had intended to rob. With a trembling voice, he said, "I promise, sir. I will never steal again. You have opened my eyes. I will work hard and lead an honest life from now on."

Haji Mohammad Muhsin smiled and said, "May Allah bless you and guide you towards the right path." The thief, filled with gratitude, left the house, never to steal again. From that day forward, he worked honestly and earned his livelihood with dignity.
