Eid is the main religious festival of the Muslims in Bangladesh. Eid means happiness. Everyone wants to share this happiness with near and dear ones. So most of the people, who are living outside their homes for different reasons have a strong desire to get back home during the Eid vacation. As a result, there is a mad rush to board buses, trains or launches or going home. This often causes transport accidents that Take aw many lives. However, these cannot stop people from going home to meet their family, in-laws or friends. What makes people rush for their homes in spite of serious hazards? This is nothing but people's desire to return to the roots. Do human beings have roots like the trees? The answer is 'yes' but unlike the roots of the trees they are invisible, they lie in our minds. It's these roots that make a bond between us and family members, in-laws, friends, neighbours or even between us and the land where we were born and grew up. In that sense our families, our land of birth, relatives, our culture, traditions or surroundings are our roots. And wherever we stay, we feel the power of our roots. It's our roots that develop our identity making us what we are. When we lose that bond, we become rootless. Human beings who do not have any roots are a non-entity. Dengue Fever: Causes, Symptoms, and Prevention
Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne viral infection caused by the dengue virus. The disease does not spread directly from person to person; instead, it is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected female Aedes mosquito, which becomes a carrier after biting someone who is already infected. The common symptoms of dengue fever can be severe and include a sudden high fever, intense headache, pain behind the eyes, severe muscle and joint pain—which gives it the nickname "breakbone fever"—nausea, and a skin rash. While a vaccine for dengue does exist, its availability and use are often limited to specific situations and populations in areas with a high disease burden. Therefore, the most effective way for people to protect themselves is by preventing mosquito bites. This can be achieved by using insect repellent, wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants, and eliminating mosquito breeding sites by regularly removing standing water from containers like flower pots, buckets, and old tires around the home
Answer to the Question No. 9
A Helping Hand
One day while crossing the bridge at New Market, I saw a poor family seeking shelter. I approached them and asked about their problem. Then they said that flood had destroyed their home and all their belongings in their village. The father, a poor farmer, looked helpless, and his wife and two small children were shivering with cold and hunger. They had come to the city with the hope of finding work and shelter, but they had found nothing. My heart was filled with pity for them. I immediately went to a nearby shop and bought some bread and bananas for them. The children ate the food hungrily. I gave the man some money from my pocket so they could buy a proper meal. I also told him about a local charity organization that helps homeless people like them. I gave him the address and requested him to go there the next morning. The man and his wife looked at me with tears of gratitude in their eyes. Helping them made me feel a deep sense of satisfaction and peace. It was a day I will never forget.

Answer to the Question No. 11
Subject: Importance of Games and Sports
My dear Rana,
I hope this email finds you in good health. I was a bit concerned when your mother told me that you are not taking part in any games or sports and are always busy with your studies. So, I am writing to you today about the importance of games and sports in our life.
Remember the proverb, "A sound mind in a sound body." To have a sound mind, we must have a sound body, and games and sports are essential for keeping our body fit and active. They improve our blood circulation, strengthen our muscles, and keep us free from diseases.
Besides physical fitness, sports also have great educational value. They teach us important virtues like discipline, teamwork, patience, and sportsmanship. They also provide us with a great source of recreation and help to refresh our minds after a long day of studies. So, being indifferent to sports is not a good thing.
I hope you will understand the importance of games and sports and start playing a sport you like from today.
Your loving friend,
Sumon
Answer to the Question No. 12
A Dialogue on the Importance of Early Rising
Shakir: Hello Talha, good morning!
Talha: Good morning, Shakir. You look very fresh and active.
Shakir: Thank you. It’s because I get up early in the morning every day. But you look a bit tired.
Talha: Yes, I went to bed late last night, so I couldn't wake up early. I often miss the first period at school because of this.
Shakir: See, that's the problem. Early rising is a very good habit with many benefits. Don't you know the proverb, "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise"?
Talha: I know, but I find it hard to leave my bed in the morning. How does it help?
Shakir: If you get up early, you get a lot of extra time. You can say your morning prayers, take some physical exercise, and study your lessons with a fresh mind.
Talha: That sounds productive. What are the health benefits?
Shakir: You can enjoy the fresh morning air, which is good for our health. A morning walk can keep you fit and active all day long. You won't feel sleepy in the classroom.
Talha: You are absolutely right. I really need to change my habit.
Shakir: Yes, you should. If you make it a habit, you will see how much your health and studies improve.
Talha: Thank you so much for your great advice, Shakir. I will definitely try to wake up early from tomorrow.
Shakir: You're most welcome, Talha.
