Water hyacinths are one kind of aquatic plants. It is found everywhere in our country particularly in the rural areas. It grows very quickly. It grows well in the ponds, wells, canals and reservoirs etc. Some people think that water hyacinths are useless things. There are some other people who believe that they are worse than useless. These people are mistaken. Their idea about water hyacinths is wrong. Water hyacinths are valuable things. They have different uses. Water hyacinths can be used as fodder. Water hyacinths can be made into very good fertiliser. This fertiliser makes the soil fertile. So we can get good crops. Water hyacinths can be mixed with old leaves. A Wedding Ceremony I Enjoyed/ Attended
The wedding ceremony is very common and joyful in every society of the world. Last Friday I enjoyed/ attended a gorgeous wedding ceremony of the daughter of Mr Rafiq who is one of our respectable neighbours. The joyful ceremony was held at his house. A big pendal with colourful shamiana was made. A big nice gate was built at the entrance of the pendal. The pendal and the gate were decorated with coloured papers and electric bulbs. The bridegroom and the bride were dressed in Wedding dresses nicely. They looked cheerful, smiling and smart. About 500 guests from both the sides attended the happy/joyful ceremony. I shook hands with them. A Moulavi shaheb and a Kazi Shaheb performed/ completed the matrimonial works according to the law of Islam. Then all the guests enjoyed a rich and delicious feast. Next, betak-leaf was 'served to the guests. The guests left the place one by one. At last the ne*7 couple got into a coloured Palki. In fact, the farewell scene was very heartÂtouching. This scene will remain ever fresh in my mind.

Wedding ceremonies are universal celebrations filled with joy that are observed in every society across the world. Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending a splendid wedding ceremony hosted by Mr. Rafiq, one of our esteemed neighbors, to celebrate his daughter's marriage. The festive event took place at their residence, where a grand marquee adorned with colorful canopies was erected. An impressive gate welcomed guests at the entrance, embellished with vibrant paper decorations and twinkling electric bulbs.Both the bride and groom were elegantly attired in traditional wedding attire, radiating happiness and charm. Approximately 500 guests from both sides of the family were present to partake in the merriment. I had the opportunity to greet and shake hands with many of them. The matrimonial proceedings were conducted by a Moulavi Shaheb and a Kazi Shaheb in accordance with Islamic law, solidifying the union.Following the ceremony, all the guests were treated to a sumptuous and delectable feast. Traditional betel leaves were also offered to the guests as a gesture of hospitality. Gradually, the guests began to depart, leaving behind fond memories of the celebratory occasion. The highlight of the evening was when the newlywed couple climbed into a beautifully adorned Palki, creating a touching farewell scene that will forever remain etched in my memory.
WHY WE SHOULD AVOID JUNK FOOD
‘Junk food’ is food that has been produced for its pungent taste rather than for its health value. Junk food is gaining popularity very rapidly amongst the youngsters. It is regarded as a symbol of modernity to go to places where junk food is served. Perhaps, most youngsters who consume this type of food do not realise the hazards their health is exposed to. Very often, this junk food is prepared unhygienically, using contaminated water and cheap cooking oil. Fine flour which is used for preparing this food is both harmful for the digestive system and makes the body bulky. It has very little nutritive value. Further, it spoils the skin, leading to unsightly eruptions. It often contains added chemicals which make it taste soothing but are unhealthy. It usually contains a lot of animal fat or sugar. Foods like chips, burgers, crisps, cakes, biscuits, are high in animal fats. Sweets and fizzy drinks like cola and lemonade are high in sugar. When we eat a large amount of fat, our bodies turn them into fatty issue, and a large amount of sugar can damage our teeth and skin. Junk food lacks the vitamins and minerals we need. So, before one reaches out for that mouth-watering junk food, one should restrain oneself and consider for a while the harmful effects of junk food.

A winter morning is cold and dismal and is covered with mist. Everything seems hazy. The grasses below are wet with dew and sparkle like pearls in the sunbeams. One can hardly see and identify things at a distance. People in warm clothes to keep themselves warm look strange. The old people shiver in cold. People gather straw and make fires at different places to bask in the heat of the sun. Bird’s chirping is not heard. The cow and other animals cannot come out. Then the sun peeps over the eastern horizon and starts rising. Nature takes on a charming aspect. The touch of the sunrays makes the birds and beasts quite happy. Farmers go to the fields and begin their day’s work. With the advancing sun, people shirk off the feeling of cold and set about their usual course of work. Then the scene of mist and fog disappears and the sunny morning paves the way for man’s daily activities. However, hardworking individuals and dedicated farmers persevere through the discomfort, undeterred by the biting cold. Despite the hardships, a winter morning possesses a unique charm and allure. It provides an opportunity to savor delicious cakes and date juice, making it a memorable experience.As an early riser, I cherish the enchanting beauty of a winter morning. The sight of the rising sun during this season serves as a respite from the monotony of everyday life. Therefore, it is incumbent upon everyone to relish the unparalleled beauty that a winter morning has to offer.

They play a significant role at home and outside. As a mother in a family she manages her family with her intelligence. This affects our economy indirectly and positively. Moreover, it is not only educated women who are opting to work but women with little or no education have come out of their cocoons to earn and become self-reliant. The educated women are mostly engaged in teaching and a small percentage of them work in offices and factories. The uneducated women usually work as farmers, brick clinkers, construction workers, garment workers etc. Our agriculture is not possible without the active participation of women. In the garment sector our women’s contribution is far greater than men’s. Moreover, our rural women-folk contribute to the cottage industry which boosts up our national economy. Recently being trained by government and non-government organisations, they are making different products. Nevertheless there are few opportunities, our women are eager to share the burden with the male member to maintain a family in this age of price-hike. With their collective efforts our economy is developing day by day.
