The Lion and the Mouse
Once there was a lion in a forest. He was very tired and hence he was sleeping in a den. At that time a mouse was playing nearby. It was running to and fro without any anxiety. Soon another mouse came there. The first mouse said, “Look at me! I’m not afraid of this big lion!” It climbed on the lion’s body and came to the loin’s mouth and sat on the nose. The lion woke up. It saw the mouse. It was very angry. The mouse became very afraid. It could not move. The lion caught it in his paw and was about to kill it. . The other mouse ran away.
The lion said, “You bad little mouse! Why have you disturbed my sleep? I’ll eat you now.” The mouse begged for its life. It said, “Forgive me, sir. I’m very small. Don’t eat me. Please let me go. I’ll be your friend. What will you gain by killing me? Please pardon me and let me go. One day I may come to your use.” The lion laughed at the mouse. He said, “How can you help me? Look! How big and strong I am! I don’t need small friends like you!” The mouse cried, “ Please don’t kill me.” The lion out of pity became quite. He had no more anger in his heart. So he let the mouse go.
After some days three men came to the forest. They had guns and a net. They came to catch wild animals. They stopped under a tree. They tied the net with two branches of the tree and laid a trap with it. Then they left the place. The next day the lion was walking in the forest. He came under the tree. He stepped on the net. The net went up. The lion was inside the net. He could not get out .he became very angry. He roared and roared. He was helpless. The mouse heard the roar of the lion. It ran to the lion. The lion was in side the net. The mouse said, “Alas, my friend! You’re in danger! But I’ll get you out.” At first the mouse cut a very small part of the net with its sharp teeth. Then it cut more and more. The hole in the net became bigger. The lion jumped out of the net. He ran away with the mouse on his back. The lion stopped after sometime. He said, “Thank you, my little friend. Forgive me. I was wrong. I was proud. You’re my best friend.”
A Lion and a Mouse
Once a little mouse, while playing, ran across a sleeping lion's face. The lion awake in anger, caught the mouse and was about to kill it. The mouse begged for pardon. It said to the lion, "I am very sorry
sir. I got a little off balance and ran across your face just by accident. Please spare my life. One day, perhaps I may be of use to you."
The lion laughed and said, "Well, I feel like believing you, I don't know why. But I know one thing, when anyone is in danger he or she make false promises to get rid of the danger." The mouse became sad at heart and said, "No sir, I am not of that type. I know how to be grateful and how to repay debts. If I do not get any chance to be useful to you, I shall at least remain grateful to you for your kindness." The mighty beast seemed convinced. He pardoned the mouse and allowed it go. The mouse thanked the lion and ran away in joy.
One day after this the lion was strolling around as usual. Suddenly he was caught in a net set by some hunters. He roared loudly in rage, tried his best to get free but all his efforts ended in vain. No doubt the lion was very strong but he could not break the net. He went on roaring in rage.
The mouse playing nearby heard the roar of the lion. It got frightened and got ready to run away at a safe distance. Suddenly one thing flashed into it$ mind. It remembered the promise it made to the lion. So the mouse instead of running away in fear went to the spot from where the roaring sound was coming. Seeing the mouse coming the lion said, "My dear little friend, see my condition. I am in a real trouble. Will you keep your promise and help me get rid of this trouble." "Of course! That's why I am here. Don't worry. Let me have a try at the net." So saying the mouse first cut one rope of the net with its sharp teeth and then another and then another and finally succeeded in setting the lion free.
The lion now free from danger became so happy and pleased with the mouse that he had the mouse on
his back and left the place singing. Since then the mouse and the lion became the best friends and their friendship based on mutual trust and confidence lasted till time unknown.

The Lion and the Mouse Completing Story Bangla Meaning
