Pran Frooto Viqarunnisa Noon Science Festival begins

Staff Reporter, Dhaka, July 5, 2025: The Pran Frooto Viqarunnisa Noon 16th Science Festival 2025 organised by Viqarunnisa Noon Science Club began on the school campus in the city yesterday.

Workers' Party President and lawmaker Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.

Principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Manju Ara Begum, director of the science club Mazeda Begum, teachers and students of the school and college attended on the occasion.

A total of 650 scientific projects of 12 schools and 13 colleges of the city were showcased at the festival. Apart from scientific projects, scientific seminars, general knowledge and quiz competition, screening of films based on science fiction, sky observation session, and science, math's, physics, astro and chemistry Olympiads will also be held during the four-day festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Menon called on other educational institutions to organize such festivals and said the students will have to be more involved in creative activities alongside their studies. Later, he visited different stalls of the science festival.

Scientist Mohammad Ibrahim, Uzma Chowdhury, director of Pran Group was also present on the occasion.

Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, vice chancellor of Dhaka University, will be present at the concluding ceremony as the chief guest of the festival.

Beximco-Notre Dame Inter-College Science Carnival 2026 Begins with Grand Festivity

Staff Reporter, Dhaka, September 20, 2026: The Beximco-Notre Dame Inter-College Science Carnival 2026, jointly organized by the Notre Dame Science Club, officially commenced yesterday on the historic college campus. The multi-day festival aims to foster analytical thinking, innovation, and practical scientific inquiry among higher secondary students across the capital.

The inaugural ceremony began at 10:00 a.m. with an inspiring speech delivered by the chief guest, the honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Principal of Notre Dame College presided over the function, while notable academic figures and corporate sponsors graced the dias. Over 800 cutting-edge projects, built by young researchers from 25 prominent schools and 20 colleges, have been put on display across various pavilions.

In addition to project exhibitions, the four-day carnival features a wide array of competitive segments, including Math and Physics Olympiads, robotics obstacle races, scientific quiz competitions, and documentary screenings on astrophysics. Speaking at the opening session, the chief guest emphasized that practical science education is vital for building a technologically self-reliant nation. He also toured the stalls, interacting closely with students who demonstrated projects ranging from renewable energy models to automated healthcare devices. The festival will conclude on Saturday with the Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor attending as the chief guest for the prize-giving ceremony.

Annual Science Fair Starts at Agrabad Government Colony High School

Local Correspondent, Chattogram, September 15, 2026: A three-day annual science fair began yesterday morning at the expansive grounds of Agrabad Government Colony High School in Chattogram. The school science association organized this vibrant event to spark interest in science and technology among school and college students.

The Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram inaugurated the science fair as the chief guest by cutting a bright red ribbon. The Headmaster of the school and local education officers were also present at the opening ceremony. More than 450 science models and IT projects from 15 different educational institutions of the port city are being showcased at the exhibition.

Visitors showed huge interest in projects like smart street lights, earthquake safety alarms, and organic waste recycling machines created by young students. Alongside the project displays, the fair features an exciting quiz contest, a spelling bee, and a basic programming workshop for teenagers. The chief guest praised the creative efforts of the participants and urged teachers to provide more practical science classes. The festival will run for three days, welcoming students, parents, and science lovers every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Our School Science Festival

Staff Reporter, Rajshahi, October 1, 2026: Yesterday, our school held a very nice science festival on the campus. All students and teachers worked hard to make this program successful. The Mayor of our town came as the chief guest and started the fair in the morning.

Many boys and girls from different classes brought their science models to the school hall. There were more than two hundred colorful projects on display. Some children made a water filter using sand and charcoal to get clean water. Other students made a working model of a wind-mill and a solar house. Everyone looked at these machines with happy and curious eyes.

The chief guest walked around the tables and talked nicely to the young makers. He gave a short speech telling children to read science books and learn new things every day. We also had a fun drawing competition and a general knowledge quiz in the afternoon. The best science projects received nice prizes and certificates. It was a very wonderful day for everyone, and we learned how science helps our daily life.

স্টাফ রিপোর্টার, রাজশাহী, ১ অক্টোবর, ২০২৬: গতকাল আমাদের স্কুলে ক্যাম্পাসে খুব সুন্দর একটি বিজ্ঞান উৎসব অনুষ্ঠিত হলো। এই কর্মসূচি সফল করতে সব শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষক কঠোর পরিশ্রম করেছেন। আমাদের শহরের মেয়র প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে এসে সকালে মেলার সূচনা করেন।

বিভিন্ন ক্লাসের অনেক ছেলেমেয়ে তাদের বিজ্ঞানের মডেল স্কুলের হলে নিয়ে আসে। প্রদর্শনীতে দুই শতাধিক রঙিন প্রজেক্ট ছিল। কিছু শিশু পরিষ্কার পানি পাওয়ার জন্য বালি এবং কাঠকয়লা ব্যবহার করে একটি জল ফিল্টার তৈরি করে। অন্য শিক্ষার্থীরা একটি বায়ুকল এবং একটি সৌর বাড়ির কার্যকরী মডেল তৈরি করে। সবাই খুব খুশি ও কৌতূহলী চোখে এই মেশিনগুলো দেখছিল।

প্রধান অতিথি টেবিলগুলো ঘুরে দেখেন এবং তরুণ নির্মাতাদের সাথে সুন্দরভাবে কথা বলেন। তিনি একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত বক্তব্য দেন যাতে শিশুদের বিজ্ঞানের বই পড়তে এবং প্রতিদিন নতুন জিনিস শিখতে বলা হয়। বিকেলে আমাদের একটি মজার অঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতা এবং সাধারণ জ্ঞান কুইজও ছিল। সেরা বিজ্ঞান প্রজেক্টগুলো সুন্দর পুরস্কার ও সার্টিফিকেট পায়। সবার জন্যই দিনটি খুব চমৎকার ছিল এবং আমরা বিজ্ঞান কীভাবে আমাদের দৈনন্দিন জীবনকে সাহায্য করে তা শিখেছি।]
