Staff Reporter, Dhaka, July 5, 2018: Armed robbery, according to a local source took place between Laksham and Comilla stations of the Laksham - Comilla local train yesterday. As soon as the train left Laksham station a bond of robbers consisting of seven armed men brought out their revolvers and daggers. They threatened the passengers in a second class of dagger and revolver not to raise an alarm or pull the alarm chain but quickly surrender their valuables and cash. The passengers were simply bewildered. The raiders snatched a purse containing Tk. 50,000 from a businessman. They also took the wrist watches of other passengers and ornaments from women amounting to Tk. sixty thousand or more. All the passengers were under panic and the whole incident took place within a few minutes. The raiders jumped from the train as soon as it slowed down its speed approaching Comilla station and escaped within a twinkle of an eye. The passengers pulled the alarm chain. The train stopped at Tongi station. But the raiders could not traced.

Daring Train Heist on Parabat Express

Staff Reporter, Sylhet, March 15, 2026: A spine-chilling armed robbery occurred on the Dhaka-Sylhet Parabat Express late last night, leaving hundreds of passengers traumatized. The terrifying incident took place between Srimangal and Kulaura stations around 11:30 p.m.

According to railway police, a group of eight masked criminals boarded the train at Srimangal. As the train entered a dense forest area, they abruptly severed the carriage's electrical connection, plunging the compartment into pitch darkness. Armed with sharp machetes and revolvers, they seized control of the bogie.

Among the victims were several students of Sylhet Engineering College returning from a study tour. The robbers held the terrified passengers hostage, threatening to shoot anyone who resisted. Within ten minutes, they looted over twenty laptops, valuable smartphones, and nearly Tk. 200,000 in cash. Several female passengers were violently stripped of their gold necklaces.

As the train slowed down near a railway bridge, the criminals pulled the emergency vacuum chain and vanished into the thick jungle. The railway authorities have suspended two security guards for negligence, and an intense manhunt is currently underway.

স্টাফ রিপোর্টার, সিলেট, ১৫ মার্চ, ২০২৬: ঢাকা-সিলেট পারাবত এক্সপ্রেসে গত গভীর রাতে এক লোমহর্ষক সশস্ত্র ডাকাতির ঘটনা ঘটেছে, যা শত শত যাত্রীকে আতঙ্কিত করে তুলেছে। রাত সাড়ে ১১টার দিকে শ্রীমঙ্গল ও কুলাউড়া স্টেশনের মাঝামাঝি এলাকায় এই ভয়ংকর ঘটনাটি ঘটে।

রেলওয়ে পুলিশের মতে, শ্রীমঙ্গল থেকে আটজন মুখোশধারী অপরাধীর একটি দল ট্রেনে ওঠে। ট্রেনটি একটি ঘন বনভূমিতে প্রবেশের সাথে সাথে তারা হঠাৎ বগির বৈদ্যুতিক সংযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন করে দেয়, ফলে পুরো বগি ঘুটঘুটে অন্ধকারে তলিয়ে যায়। ধারালো রামদা এবং রিভলবার হাতে তারা বগিটির নিয়ন্ত্রণ নেয়।

ভুক্তভোগীদের মধ্যে সিলেট ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজের কয়েকজন শিক্ষার্থীও ছিলেন, যারা শিক্ষা সফর থেকে ফিরছিলেন। ডাকাতরা আতঙ্কিত যাত্রীদের জিম্মি করে এবং কেউ বাধা দিলে গুলি করার হুমকি দেয়। দশ মিনিটের মধ্যে তারা বিশটির বেশি ল্যাপটপ, দামি স্মার্টফোন এবং প্রায় ২ লাখ নগদ টাকা লুট করে। বেশ কয়েকজন নারী যাত্রীর গলার সোনার চেইন জোরপূর্বক ছিনিয়ে নেওয়া হয়।

রেলসেতুর কাছে ট্রেনের গতি কমে এলে অপরাধীরা জরুরি ভ্যাকুয়াম চেইন টেনে ঘন জঙ্গলে অদৃশ্য হয়ে যায়। অবহেলার কারণে রেলওয়ে কর্তৃপক্ষ দুজন নিরাপত্তারক্ষীকে বরখাস্ত করেছে এবং বর্তমানে অপরাধীদের ধরতে জোর তল্লাশি চলছে।]

Armed Robbery in Silk City Express

Local Correspondent, Rajshahi, August 22, 2026: A dangerous robbery took place on the Silk City Express train last night. The train was traveling from Rajshahi to Dhaka. The sad incident happened near Natore station at about 9:00 p.m.

Passengers reported that five robbers got on the train disguised as tea sellers. Suddenly, they brought out big knives and pistols from their bags. They shouted loudly and told everyone to keep their heads down. The passengers were very frightened and could not shout for help.

The robbers quickly snatched money, gold rings, and mobile phones from the helpless people. Mr. Anisur Rahman, a teacher of Rajshahi City College, lost his bag containing important papers and Tk. 30,000. They also took beautiful ornaments from the women. The whole robbery took only five minutes.

When the train was crossing a dark village area, the robbers pulled the emergency chain. The train stopped, and they ran away into the darkness. Railway police are now trying to catch the bad men.

Robbers Attack a Train Near Jashore

Staff Reporter, Khulna, October 10, 2026: A very bad robbery happened on a local train yesterday. The train was going from Khulna to Jashore. It happened at 8:00 p.m. The passengers were very scared.

Six bad men got on the train. They had guns and sharp knives in their hands. They shouted at the people and told them not to move. The passengers were afraid of losing their lives, so they stayed quiet.

The robbers took a lot of money and mobile phones from the people. Some students of Jashore Zilla School were on the train. The robbers took their new watches and school bags. They also took a purse with Tk. 40,000 from an old businessman.

After stealing everything, the bad men pulled the red chain to stop the train. When the train stopped in a dark field, they jumped out and ran away. The police came later to help the crying passengers. They are now looking for the robbers.

Daring Robbery in Chittagong

Chittagong, July 11, 2024: A daring robbery occurred in Chittagong during the late hours of July 10 at the residence of Sirajuddin Mullik, a prominent merchant. The incident took place shortly after Mr. Mullik received a remittance of Tk. 50,000 earlier that afternoon.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., Mrs. Mullik was awakened by a noise outside their room. Before she could understand the situation, several men forcefully broke into the room. They bound both her and her husband and, at knifepoint and gunpoint, coerced them into handing over the key to their iron safe. The robbers then made off with all the money stored inside.

The traumatic experience has left both Mr. and Mrs. Mullik bedridden due to the severe mental shock they suffered. The police have launched an intensive investigation into the matter but have yet to make any arrests.
