1. Countable Noun (গণনাযোগ্য বিশেষ্য)

Definition (সংজ্ঞা): Countable Nouns are the names of objects, people, etc., that we can count. যেসব Noun-কে নির্দিষ্ট সংখ্যা দিয়ে গণনা করা যায় (এক, দুই, তিন...), তাদেরকে Countable Noun বলে। সাধারণত Common Noun-গুলোই Countable Noun হয়।

Key Characteristics (প্রধান বৈশিষ্ট্যসমূহ):

• Plural Form: এদের Singular (একবচন) এবং Plural (বহুবচন)—উভয় রূপ থাকে। (যেমন: Book → Books).

• Articles: এদের আগে Article (a, an, the) বসতে পারে। (যেমন: A pen, An apple).

• Number: এদের আগে সংখ্যাবাচক শব্দ (One, two, five) বসানো যায়।

• Book, Pen, Boy, Star, Student.

2. Uncountable Noun (অগণনাযোগ্য বিশেষ্য)

Definition (সংজ্ঞা): Uncountable Nouns are the names of things which we cannot count but can measure or weigh. যেসব Noun-কে এক, দুই, তিন করে গণনা করা যায় না, কিন্তু পরিমাপ বা ওজন করা যায় অথবা শুধু অনুভব করা যায়, তাদেরকে Uncountable Noun বলে। আমেরিকান ইংরেজিতে এদেরকে 'Non-count noun' বা 'Mass noun' বলা হয়।

Key Characteristics (প্রধান বৈশিষ্ট্যসমূহ):

• No Plural Form: এদের সাধারণত Plural হয় না। (Waters, Sugars—এরা ভুল শব্দ)।

• Verb Agreement: এদের পরে সর্বদা Singular Verb বসে। (যেমন: Water is pure).

• No Indefinite Article: এদের আগে সরাসরি a বা an বসে না। তবে নির্দিষ্ট করে বোঝাতে 'the' বসতে পারে।

• Determiners: এদের আগে much, little, a lot of ইত্যাদি বসে, কিন্তু many বা few বসে না।
