Most people had taken shelter under the shades or stayed indoors to escape the scorching heat. Mahbub rushed to the old man and found that his forehead was bleeding profusely from a deep cut. It seemed he had been hit by a reckless vehicle that had cowardly fled the scene leaving him to die.

Mahbub was just a young schoolboy, but he did not panic or walk away like a silent spectator. He immediately took out his water bottle from his school bag and sprinkled some cool water on the old man's pale face. When the man slightly opened his eyes, Mahbub quickly tore a clean piece of cloth from his own white school shirt and tied it tightly around the deep wound to stop the heavy bleeding. Then, he bravely stood in the middle of the road and waved his hands desperately to stop a passing auto-rickshaw.
