Jamal is an JSC examinee. He is not attentive to his lessons specially to English because he is very weak in English. Moreover, he is lazy. So his preparation in English is not good. A month ago before his examination he managed a suggestion. There were only a few questions. The examination was knocking at the door. Jamal had a little time to take a good preparation for the exam. So, he started cramming the questions found in the suggestion. At last, the appointed day for the exam came. Jamal entered the exam hall with trembling (ভীত সন্ত্রস্ত) heart. The examination began. Jamal got his question paper at hand. Most of the questions were unknown to him and he could not answer them.

He felt quite nervous and his hand was trembling. Even he failed to answer the questions properly which he had learnt well. The bell rang. Jamal had many questions yet to answer. He left the hall with frustration. After a few months, the result was published. Most of his friends had made good results. But Jamal found his roll number in the list of 'F' grade. He was worried. Then he swore that he would never neglect his studies in future. He would be attentive and regular in his studies.

Laziness Brings Miseries

Jamal was a student preparing for his JSC examination. However, he was not serious about his studies, especially in English, because he found it very difficult. Instead of working hard to improve, he remained lazy and careless. As a result, his preparation for English was very poor.

A month before his exam, Jamal managed to get a suggestion paper that contained only a few questions. Since the exam was very close, he did not have enough time to study properly. Instead of trying to understand his lessons, he decided to memorize the questions from the suggestion. He believed this would be enough to pass the exam.

Finally, the day of the English exam arrived. Jamal entered the examination hall with a trembling heart. When he received the question paper, he was shocked. Most of the questions were unfamiliar, and he could not answer them. He became nervous and confused. Even the questions he had memorized seemed difficult to recall. His hands were shaking, and he could not concentrate.

Time passed quickly, and before he knew it, the bell rang. There were still many questions he had not answered. Jamal left the hall feeling frustrated and hopeless.

After a few months, the exam results were published. Most of his friends had done well, but Jamal’s roll number was in the ‘F’ grade list. He felt ashamed and regretful. He realized that his laziness had led to this failure. That day, he made a firm decision—he would never neglect his studies again. From then on, he promised to be attentive, hardworking, and regular in his studies.
