Necessity of Physical Labour: Once there was an old king

Once upon a time, there lived an indolent king who avoided physical exertion. Consequently, his body became bloated, and he found it challenging to move around. In search of a solution, he summoned a learned and astute physician who diagnosed that the king's inactivity was the root cause of his corpulence. However, the remedy to alleviate his obesity required the king to engage in physical labor. The physician was apprehensive that if he advised the king to perform such activities and the king did not comply, he would grow even more robust.

Finally, the sagacious physician conceived a plan. He informed the king that his physical health was in grave danger and he needed urgent treatment. The king became despondent upon hearing this news. The physician then handed the king a club and instructed him to swing it in the morning and evening for at least an hour each day. At the outset, the king found the task arduous, and he quickly grew weary and perspired profusely. Despite the initial difficulties, he persisted and continued to swing the club for an entire month.

After a month, the king found himself rejuvenated, and his body had returned to a more healthy size. He appeared trim and fit. The physician returned to the palace to visit the king and informed him that engaging in physical labor is the best way to maintain good health. The king realized the physician's strategy and praised him for prescribing such a valuable remedy. In gratitude, the king rewarded the physician for his service.

An Idle King

Once there was an old king. He was indifferent to work. He did not like physical labor at all. As a result he grew so bulky that he could not move easily. He used to face much trouble for this  so he wanted to find out a means to get rid of his problem .At last he decided to take suggestions from a doctor. Accordingly he called in a doctor. The doctor was very wise. He listened to the problem of the old king very attentively and understood that idleness is the main reason behind the obesity of the king. The old king expected some good medicine from his doctor. But the doctor said to the king, “there is only one medicine in this world to get rid of this disease and if you do not take the medicine you will  die very soon.” Hearing this the king became very frightened. He earnestly requested the doctor to tell  the name of the medicine. The doctor  suggested him to buy a club from the market and told him to move it in the air until he grew tired. The old king got amazed but did not say anything. He had no way before him except doing so.

According to the suggestion of the doctor he bought a club and started exercising with it until he grew tired. It was  a very tiresome and disgusting job for him as he was not acquainted with any kind of physical labour.  But remembering the warning of the doctor he could not leave this tedious job. Rather he followed the doctor’s advice very sincerely. Following the advice the old king got benefited. After a few days he found that he was getting slim day by day. At last the bulky king got cured and realized the consequence of the doctor’s suggestion. The king understood that physical labour is the best medicine to keep fit. The king, however thanked the doctor for prescribing the right medicine.

Physical Labour Made a Wonder

There lived a king who was unusually fat. When he sat on the throne, it cracked. It seemed to the courtiers that the throne would break down and thus the misfortune would fall upon the kingdom. So, the courtiers politely suggested the king that he should try to lose some weight. The king took seven days to lose his weight. The people agreed to his proposal. The king made a plan.

He went alone to the nearby forest. He suffered and sweated a lot while walking, but he was determined to find the wise man who lived there. He was sure that the wise man could help him.

After walking the whole morning, he arrived at a small hut. He met the wise man and told him about his problem. The wise man advised him to climb up the top of the hill close to his palace. On reaching the top of the high hill he would drink only three drops of the magic water he would give him. Then the king would be able to lose his weight.

The next morning the king climbed the hill close to the palace. On reaching the top, he took out the bottle of magic water and drank three drops. He did this for seven days.

After seven days he went to his palace and sat on the throne. But everybody saw that the throne did not crack. The king called in the wise man and asked what was so special with water. It is really miraculous. I lost my weight quite remarkably. The wise man told that there was nothing in the bottle but ordinary water. It was walking that made the king's weightless.

  An idle king

The doctor was very clever and wise. We he could easily understand that the idleness of the king is the root cause of his obesity. He thought that if he could reduce the obesity of the king. He (k) would feel well. Bu the only way to do this was to advise the king to do physical labour. The doctor was afraid how he could ask a king for physical labour. He also thought that if he advised him to do physical labour and if the king didn’t do so, he would grow more bulky. Finally, he hit upon a plan. He told the king that his (k) physical condition was not good at all and that’s why he needed immediate treatment. Hearing this, the king became gloomy and told the doctor to do everything for his cure. The doctor assured him saying that there was only one then, the doctor gave him a club and told him to brandish it in the morning and in the evening for at least one hour each day. At the very beginning day, when the king started brandishing the club, he became very tired. Sweat came out of his body and he found the task very difficult. He had no way but to do that. The king continued doing the job for one month. After a month, he found himself fresh and healthy. His bulky body became normal and he looked very smart. After a month, the doctor called on the king in his palace. The king was very happy to see the doctor. The doctor told the king that physical labour is the best medicine to keep the body fit. The king understood the doctor’s technique. He praised the doctor and thanked him for prescribing such a good medicine for him. He also rewarded him.

Necessity of Physical Labour

Once there was an old king who loved comfort and luxury. He spent most of his time lying on his soft bed, eating delicious food, and giving orders to his servants. He avoided any kind of physical work and thought it was unnecessary for a king to exert himself. As time went by, the king became weak and unhealthy. His body grew heavy, and he could barely move without help.

One day, the royal doctor visited the king and told him, “Your Majesty, your health is failing because you don’t engage in any physical activity. Without exercise, even the strongest body becomes weak and useless.”

The king was shocked to hear this and asked, “What can I do to regain my health?” The doctor replied, “You must work and exercise daily. Physical labour is essential for good health.”

At first, the king hesitated, as he was not used to physical work. However, realizing the seriousness of his condition, he decided to follow the doctor’s advice. He started walking in the royal garden every morning and lifting light objects. Gradually, he began helping the gardeners with planting trees and watering the plants.

As days turned into weeks, the king noticed a change in himself. His body became stronger, and his mind felt clearer. He had more energy and began to enjoy his daily activities. He realized that physical labour not only improved his health but also gave him a sense of satisfaction.

The king then encouraged his subjects to engage in physical work and exercise regularly. He explained to them that no matter how rich or powerful a person is, good health cannot be maintained without physical activity.

Moral: Physical labour is essential for good health and happiness. Without it, even the wealthiest person cannot lead a fulfilling life.
