Write a formal letter to the Mayor of your City Corporation requesting the regular spraying of insecticides to control the alarming increase of Aedes mosquitoes in your locality.
15 June 2026
The Mayor,
Dhaka North City Corporation,
Dhaka.
Subject: Prayer for taking immediate measures to control Aedes mosquitoes.
Sir,
With due respect, I, on behalf of the inhabitants of Mirpur Section 10, would like to draw your urgent attention to a severe public health threat that is currently looming over our locality. Over the past few weeks, the population of Aedes mosquitoes in our area has increased at an incredibly alarming rate.
The recent intermittent rains have left numerous puddles of stagnant water in the open fields, abandoned construction sites, and blocked drainage systems across the neighborhood. These uncleaned areas have unfortunately become massive breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes. Consequently, several residents, including young students and the elderly, have already been diagnosed with Dengue fever, creating a state of extreme panic among the local families.
To save our community from a potential Dengue epidemic, we desperately need the city corporation to intervene immediately. We request that specialized teams be deployed to spray effective insecticides and conduct widespread fogging operations throughout our streets and residential blocks. Furthermore, a coordinated cleanliness drive is required to clear out the stagnant water from the blocked public drains.
We, therefore, earnestly pray and hope that you would be kind enough to realize the gravity of this health crisis and take immediate administrative steps to eradicate these mosquitoes, thereby saving our lives.
Yours faithfully,
Sajid Hasan
On behalf of the residents of Mirpur Section 10
Write a formal email to the Mayor of your municipality drawing his attention to the rapid spread of Dengue fever and requesting an immediate anti-mosquito drive.
Subject: Urgent request for an anti-mosquito drive in Ward No. 12
Dear Sir,
I am writing to you today to formally express the deep concern of the residents of Ward No. 12 regarding a rapidly escalating public health emergency in our neighborhood. We are currently facing a terrifying surge in the Aedes mosquito population, which has made our daily lives incredibly unsafe.
The situation has become highly critical over the last two weeks, with local hospitals reporting a sharp spike in Dengue and Chikungunya patients from our specific block. The sudden outbreak is primarily due to the lack of proper municipal maintenance; the neighborhood garbage dumps remain uncollected for days, and the recent rainwater trapped in discarded tires and open containers has accelerated the mosquito breeding cycle.
Therefore, we urgently require a massive and continuous anti-mosquito drive initiated by the municipality. It is absolutely essential to start spraying high-quality insecticides and larvicides in every narrow alleyway, school compound, and public park within our ward immediately. Additionally, we need the municipality to launch a mobile awareness campaign to educate the masses about destroying indoor breeding sources.
I strongly urge your honorable office to treat this matter as a top priority before the Dengue situation escalates into uncontrollable fatalities. Your swift administrative action will provide immense relief to the terrified residents of our community.
Best regards,
Sajid Hasan
