It was a cold winter morning. While going to the field a farmer found a boy half dead with cold. The farmer took pity on the boy. The boy lying by the roadside was a teenager, hardly sixteen years of age. His wretched condition reminded the farmer of his own son of the same age. So, the father rose in him who took the boy on his shoulder and took him home. The boy, on the other hand, was a fugitive, a gang member, a listed criminal to the police. The police were after him because he was involved with a heinous murder case. He was running away from the police for a several days. He had to go without food, hide himself wherever he could and finally while jumping from a running bus that was passing by that road, he got severe wound and lay there almost dead when the farmer found him. After taking him home the farmer first placed him by the fire place 'With care, gave him warm milk, wrapped him up with a blanket and hurried out to call in a doctor. After a few days treatment, care and good food the fugitive boy got quite well. He fabricated a convincing story about himself and told it to the farmer who did believe it satisfactorily and happily allowed the boy to stay a few more days at his home. One day it so happened that the farmer and his family members were invited to one of his friend's house. The farmer said to the boy, "Listen my dear, we have an invitation to the house of my intimate friend. Will you go with us?" "No uncle", said the boy, "I would rather stay home." "Ok, no problem", said the farmer, "Then please stay and take care of the house till we come back." So saying the farmer and his family members went out. Now, the boy a criminal at heart, an ill born and brought up being got into action. He collected whatever valuables he could from the house and went away forever. On his return home the good farmer could realize what blunder he had made. He said to himself, "The boy must be an ill born and brought up boy. He could not change his colour despite receiving all sorts of kind gestures from me." However, the good old farmer in spite of being sorry for loss incurred by the boy, he prayed to God for the boy wishing him a happy life.

The Farmer and the Snake

Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a kind and hardworking farmer. He lived a simple life and worked hard on his small farm. The farmer grew crops that he sold in the market to take care of his family. He didn’t have much, but he was happy with what he had. He was known for being generous and always helped others when they needed it.

One cold morning, the farmer woke up early, just as the sun was rising. The village was still quiet, and most people were still inside their homes, staying warm. But the farmer was already on his way to his field to start working.

As he walked along the path to his field, he saw something strange. Near a bush, lying on the ground, was a snake. The snake was not moving, and its body was stiff from the cold. It looked like it was about to die. The farmer knew that the snake was dangerous and venomous, but he couldn’t just leave it there to suffer.

The farmer felt sorry for the snake. Even though it could harm him, he didn’t want it to die alone in the cold. So, he decided to help. He carefully picked up the snake and held it close to his body to warm it. Slowly, the warmth from the farmer’s body helped the snake feel better. The snake began to move and regained some of its strength.

The farmer kept holding the snake, caring for it with no thought of danger. He just wanted to save its life. After some time, the snake was strong enough to move on its own.

But then, something unexpected happened. The snake, now feeling better, suddenly struck and bit the farmer. The venom from the snake quickly spread through his body. The farmer felt pain as the poison worked its way through his veins. He sat down, feeling the poison take over him.

In his last moments, the farmer thought about what had happened. He was sad that he had tried to save the snake, only to be betrayed. He whispered with his last breath, “A snake will always bite you, even if you save its life.”
