Dear John,

I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and spirits. In your last letter, you asked me about the sociology project I was working on. I just finished it yesterday, and I really wanted to share the experience with you because it completely changed my perspective on life.

Our assignment was to interview a day labourer to understand their daily struggles. I went to a local marketplace early in the morning and spoke to a man named Rahim Miah. He is a construction worker in his late forties. Looking at his sunburned face and rough, calloused hands, you could instantly tell how incredibly hard his life is. He told me that his day begins before sunrise. He gathers at the local intersection with hundreds of other labourers, waiting anxiously for a contractor to hire him for the day.

What broke my heart was learning about the uncertainty of his life. There is no guarantee of work. On days he is hired, he works tirelessly under the scorching sun for ten to twelve hours just to earn a meager wage. On days he isn't hired, his family goes to sleep half-starved. Despite this brutal hand-to-mouth existence, he doesn't complain. He spoke with immense dignity and told me that his only dream is to educate his two children so they never have to carry bricks in the sun like him.

Talking to him was a profound and eye-opening experience. It made me realize how much we take our comfortable lives and privileges for granted. We complain about such minor inconveniences, while people like Rahim Miah fight a daily war just to survive.

Yet, amidst all this hardship, his resilience was deeply inspiring. He wiped the sweat from his forehead, smiled, and said he finds peace knowing he is earning an honest living.

This short interview taught me more about life than any textbook ever could. It made me incredibly grateful for the basic comforts I enjoy—a secure home, guaranteed meals, and the opportunity to study without worrying about tomorrow's survival.
