Write an application to the Principal of your college requesting a strict embargo on the use of cell phones in classrooms and on the college campus.
15 June 2026
The Principal,
Dhaka City College,
Dhaka.
Subject: Prayer for imposing an embargo on cell phones on campus.
Sir,
With due respect and humble submission, we, the students of your college, would like to draw your attention to a growing issue that is severely disrupting our academic environment. Recently, the unrestricted use of mobile phones by students within the campus has reached an alarming level.
Currently, many students keep their cell phones active during active class hours. The sudden ringing of phones and constant notification sounds frequently interrupt the teachers' lectures and break the concentration of the entire class. Furthermore, instead of paying attention to the lessons, a significant number of students are found secretly browsing social media or texting under their desks, which completely ruins the educational atmosphere.
To maintain the sanctity and discipline of our institution, it is highly necessary to implement a strict embargo on bringing and using cell phones on the college premises. We propose that if any student is found using a mobile phone inside the classroom or the academic corridors, the device should be immediately confiscated. In case of absolute emergencies, students can always use the official landline available at the administration office.
We, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to issue a strict notice banning cell phones on campus, thereby ensuring a focused and peaceful environment for our studies.
Yours obediently,
Sajid Hasan
On behalf of the students
Write a formal email to the Chairman of the School Management Committee proposing a complete ban on bringing smartphones to the school premises.
Subject: Proposal for an embargo on smartphones within the school campus
Dear Sir,
I am writing to formally propose the implementation of a strict embargo regarding the possession and use of smartphones by students within our school campus. While technology has many benefits, the unrestricted presence of personal mobile devices has recently become a major obstacle to our institutional discipline.
Over the past few months, the negative impacts of smartphone addiction have become highly visible during school hours. Students are spending their crucial tiffin breaks staring at screens rather than socializing or playing outdoor games. More concerningly, there have been several incidents of students taking unauthorized photographs and recording videos on campus, which is a severe violation of privacy and school security protocols.
Implementing a complete embargo on cell phones is the only practical solution to restore our core academic focus. I strongly suggest passing a regulatory rule that strictly prohibits students from bringing any electronic communication devices into the school boundaries. If a student must bring a phone for after-school safety reasons, we should mandate that the device be turned off and deposited at the main security gate until the final bell rings.
I strongly urge the management committee to review this proposal and issue a formal prohibition notice before these disciplinary issues escalate further. I would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to this matter to help protect our school's academic integrity.
Best regards,
Sajid Hasan
