Write a formal letter to the Managing Director of WASA complaining about the insufficient water supply in your locality.
15 June 2026
The Managing Director,
Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA),
Kawran Bazar, Dhaka.
Subject: Complaint regarding the insufficient water supply in Mirpur Section 10.
Sir,
With due respect, I, on behalf of the residents of Mirpur Section 10, would like to draw your urgent attention to the acute crisis of pure drinking water that has been persisting in our locality for the past three weeks. Our area is densely populated, and this sudden disruption in the daily water supply has created an unbearable situation for everyone living here.
For the last twenty days, the water taps in our residential buildings have remained mostly dry throughout the day. The supply is completely cut off during the peak morning and afternoon hours when it is needed the most for cooking, bathing, and general household chores. Water is only being supplied for a brief one-hour window late at night, forcing the exhausted residents to stay awake just to collect their daily required water in buckets and drums.
Furthermore, on the rare occasions when the water is supplied during the day, the water pressure is extremely low, and the water itself is often muddy and foul-smelling. Consuming or even using this contaminated water is causing severe health hazards, and several children in our neighborhood are already suffering from waterborne diseases like diarrhea and dysentery.
We, therefore, earnestly pray and hope that you would be kind enough to send an inspection team to check the main supply lines in our area and take immediate steps to restore a sufficient and clean water supply, thereby saving us from this severe crisis.
Yours faithfully,
Sajid Hasan
On behalf of the residents of Mirpur Section 10
Write a formal email to the Zonal Executive Engineer of WASA complaining about the acute shortage of water in your residential area.
Subject: Urgent complaint regarding acute water shortage in Mirpur area
Dear Sir,
I am writing to formally lodge an urgent complaint regarding the severe water crisis currently heavily impacting the residents of Mirpur Section 10. As tax-paying citizens, we are deeply distressed by the sudden and continuous failure of the local water distribution network, which has left our entire neighborhood practically without running water for over two weeks.
The current supply schedule is completely erratic and highly insufficient for a residential zone of this size. The main pipelines remain completely dry from early morning until midnight. When the supply finally resumes around 2:00 AM, the water pressure is so poor that it is physically impossible to pump water into our rooftop reserve tanks, leaving entire apartment buildings without any usable water for the next day.
This continuous lack of a basic utility is severely disrupting our daily lives and completely ruining the local hygiene standards. Students preparing for their upcoming board examinations, office-goers, and the elderly are suffering the most. Many families are currently being forced to spend an unreasonable amount of money daily just to purchase commercial bottled water for basic cooking and drinking purposes.
I strongly urge your technical department to immediately investigate the underground valves and distribution pumps servicing our specific block. Furthermore, we request you to temporarily deploy mobile WASA water tankers to our locality until the main pipeline issue is permanently resolved.
Best regards,
Sajid Hasan
