Questions and Answers
PART I: Travelling to Work or College
How do you usually travel to work or college? Why?
I usually travel to college by bus. It’s convenient and affordable, plus it gives me some time to read or listen to music during the commute.
Have you always traveled to work/college in the same way? Why/Why not?
Not always. In the past, I used to bike to college, but due to the busier traffic and longer distances, I switched to taking the bus. It’s safer and saves me time.
What do you like about traveling to work/college this way?
I enjoy that I can relax during the bus ride. It’s less stressful than driving, and I don’t have to worry about parking. Also, I can use that time to catch up on my studies or unwind.
What changes would improve the way you travel to work/college? Why?
I think improving public transportation frequency would be beneficial. If buses ran more often, it would reduce wait times and make commuting more efficient for everyone.
PART II: Describe a Useful Piece of Electronic Equipment
One piece of electronic equipment that I find incredibly useful is my laptop. I learned to use it when I was in school, where I had my first experience with computers. I have had my current laptop for about three years now.
I find my laptop useful because it allows me to complete assignments, conduct research, and stay organized. The portability means I can work from anywhere, whether at home, in a café, or during my commute. Additionally, it connects me with others through video calls and online collaboration tools, which is especially important for my studies.

Technology and Housework
What kinds of machines are used for housework in modern homes in your country?
In modern homes, people commonly use washing machines, dishwashers, and vacuum cleaners. These appliances have become essential for making housework more efficient.
How have these machines benefited people? Are there any negative effects of using them?
These machines save time and effort, allowing people to focus on other activities or spend more time with family. However, a potential negative effect is that reliance on these machines can lead to a decrease in physical activity, contributing to a more sedentary lifestyle.
Do you think all new homes will be equipped with household machines in the future? Why?
Yes, I believe most new homes will be equipped with household machines in the future. As technology advances and becomes more affordable, it’s likely that people will expect these conveniences as standard.
Technology in the Workplace
What kinds of equipment do most workers need to use in offices today?
Most workers today need computers, printers, and communication tools like phones or video conferencing software. Additionally, many use specialized software for their specific tasks.
How have developments in technology affected employment in your country?
Developments in technology have led to the creation of new job opportunities, particularly in IT and tech sectors. However, some traditional jobs have been replaced or automated, which can be challenging for certain workers.
Some people think that technology has brought more stress than benefits to employed people nowadays. Would you agree or disagree? Why?
I partially agree. While technology can enhance productivity and streamline tasks, the constant connectivity and pressure to be always available can lead to stress. It’s essential to find a balance to enjoy the benefits without feeling overwhelmed.
