On the one hand, people today can easily watch any content they want on the Internet without spending much time or money. Firstly, using smartphones and computers allows users to watch movies whenever they want.
Cinemas and theatres have fixed schedules, which may not suit everyone. The Internet offers much more flexibility for busy people. Secondly, cinema tickets can be too expensive for many families. Watching a movie online is often much cheaper and more affordable.
On the other hand, I argue that theatres and cinemas still play a significant role. For example, cinemas have huge screens and great sound systems that make people feel like they are inside the movie. In theatres, audiences can enjoy live performances by real actors, which is an experience you cannot get from a computer screen.
Furthermore, these public venues generate a lot of money for the local economy. The taxes collected from cinemas and theatres can be used by the government to build new roads and improve public facilities for everyone to use.
