Ans.     A Night in the deep forest

Last year we had a tour to the Sundarbans. It was just 3 : 15 when we reached Katka. Under a i forest guide and a coast guard we started going down to the deep forest. I was so beguiled with the wonderful green of the Sundarbans that even I forgot to follow our teammates.

But when I regained consciousness, it was already too late. My friends had ventured ahead into the Sundarbans, but I couldn't follow them because the passage I took was very deceptive. I had never encountered such rugged yet captivating pathways before. As I walked on, I was filled with wonder.

Suddenly, I stumbled upon a hut overlooking a serene stream. Entering the hut, I felt an overwhelming urge to rest. Exhausted from the long journey, I succumbed to a deep sleep, aided by the gentle breeze flowing through the open windows.

When I awoke, I was startled to find darkness enveloping the forest. Fear crept in as I thought of the dangers posed by wild animals and the worry my teammates must be feeling for me. Despite my apprehension, I knew I had to brave the night in the depths of the forest, where danger lurked at every turn.

During the night, the sounds of birds chirping and monkeys chattering filled the air, sending shivers down my spine. The distant howls of wolves and the occasional roars of lions or tigers only added to my unease. In the darkness of the jungle, I felt like a mere mortal, overwhelmed by the presence of unfamiliar creatures.

Yet, amidst the uncertainty, I found solace in the cool, moist air of the forest. Eventually, exhaustion overcame my fears, and I drifted into a fitful sleep once more, cradled by the embrace of nature.

When the first rays of the morning sun pierced through the trees, I emerged from my hut, ready to reunite with my teammates.
