A King’s Painting

Once upon a time, there was a Kingdom. The king there only had one leg and one eye, but he was very intelligent and kind. Everyone in his kingdom lived a happy and a healthy life because of their king. One day the king was walking through the palace hallway and saw the portraits of his ancestors. He thought that one day his children will walk in the same hallway and remember all the ancestors through these portraits.

But, the king did not have his portrait painted. Due to his physical disabilities, he wasn’t sure how his painting would turn out. So he invited many famous painters from his and other kingdoms to the court. The king then announced that he wants a beautiful portrait made of himself to be placed in the palace. Any painter who can carry out this should come forward. He will be rewarded based on how the painting turns up.

All of the painters began to think that the king only has one leg and one eye. How can his picture be made very beautiful? It is not possible and if the picture does not turn out to look beautiful then the king will get angry and punish them. So one by one, all started to make excuses and politely declined to make a painting of the king.

But suddenly one painter raised his hand and said that I will make a very beautiful portrait of you which you will surely like. The king became happy hearing that and other painters got curious. The king gave him the permission and the painter started drawing the portrait. He then filled the drawing with paints. Finally, after taking a long time, he said that the portrait was ready!

All of the courtiers, other painters were curious and nervous thinking, How can the painter make the king’s portrait beautiful because the king is physically disabled? What if the king didn’t like the painting and gets angry? But when the painter presented the portrait, everyone in the court, including the king, left stunned.

The painter made a portrait in which the king was sitting on the horse, on the one-leg side, holding his bow and aiming the arrow with his one eye closed. The king was very pleased to see that the painter has made a beautiful portrait by cleverly hiding the king’s disabilities. The King gave him a great reward.

Moral: We should always think positive of others and ignore their deficiencies. We should learn to focus on the good things instead of trying to hide weaknesses. If we think and approach positively even in a negative situation, then we will be able to solve our problems more efficiently.

Selection of a Ruler

Once upon a time, there was a wise and kind king who ruled a prosperous country. He had two sons and a daughter. As he grew older, he began to worry about the future of his kingdom. He wanted to choose the best ruler among his children, someone who would rule with wisdom and care for the people. Since he loved his country deeply, he wished to find a successor who would ensure peace, prosperity, and justice for all.

One day, the king called his three children to his court. He asked them, "If you were made the next ruler, how would you govern the country?" The eldest prince confidently replied, "I will strengthen the army and rule with an iron hand. A strong army will make our country powerful and feared by others." The second prince said, "I will introduce strict laws and make sure everyone follows them. Discipline is the key to ruling a kingdom successfully."

Finally, it was the princess’s turn. She said thoughtfully, "A strong army and strict laws are important, but they are not enough to make a country truly great. To rule properly, we must first remove poverty and ensure good governance. If the people are happy and prosperous, the kingdom will remain strong without the need for fear or force." The king was deeply impressed by her wise words. He realized that she was the best choice to lead the country.

With great joy, the king declared the princess as the next ruler. The people of the kingdom welcomed this decision with happiness. Under her rule, the country flourished, poverty was reduced, and justice prevailed. The princess proved to be a wise and compassionate leader, loved and respected by all. Moral: True leadership comes from wisdom, kindness, and a deep understanding of the people's needs.

শাসক নির্বাচন

একসময়, একজন জ্ঞানী ও দয়ালু রাজা ছিলেন যিনি একটি সমৃদ্ধ দেশ শাসন করতেন। তার দুই ছেলে এবং এক মেয়ে ছিল। বড় হওয়ার সাথে সাথে তিনি তার রাজ্যের ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে চিন্তিত হতে শুরু করেন। তিনি তার সন্তানদের মধ্যে থেকে সেরা শাসক বেছে নিতে চেয়েছিলেন, যিনি জ্ঞানের সাথে শাসন করবেন এবং জনগণের যত্ন নেবেন। যেহেতু তিনি তার দেশকে গভীরভাবে ভালোবাসতেন, তাই তিনি এমন একজন উত্তরসূরী খুঁজে পেতে চেয়েছিলেন যিনি সকলের জন্য শান্তি, সমৃদ্ধি এবং ন্যায়বিচার নিশ্চিত করবেন।

একদিন, রাজা তার তিন সন্তানকে তার দরবারে ডাকলেন। তিনি তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, "যদি তোমাদের পরবর্তী শাসক করা হয়, তাহলে তোমরা কীভাবে দেশ পরিচালনা করবে?" জ্যেষ্ঠ রাজপুত্র আত্মবিশ্বাসের সাথে উত্তর দিলেন, "আমি সেনাবাহিনীকে শক্তিশালী করব এবং লৌহ হাতে শাসন করব। একটি শক্তিশালী সেনাবাহিনী আমাদের দেশকে শক্তিশালী এবং অন্যদের দ্বারা ভীত করে তুলবে।" দ্বিতীয় রাজপুত্র বললেন, "আমি কঠোর আইন প্রবর্তন করব এবং নিশ্চিত করব যে সবাই তা অনুসরণ করে। সফলভাবে রাজ্য শাসনের চাবিকাঠি হলো শৃঙ্খলা।"

অবশেষে, রাজকুমারীর পালা এলো। তিনি ভেবেচিন্তে বললেন, "একটি শক্তিশালী সেনাবাহিনী এবং কঠোর আইন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, কিন্তু একটি দেশকে সত্যিকার অর্থে মহান করে তোলার জন্য এগুলো যথেষ্ট নয়। সঠিকভাবে শাসন করার জন্য, আমাদের প্রথমে দারিদ্র্য দূর করতে হবে এবং সুশাসন নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। যদি জনগণ সুখী এবং সমৃদ্ধ হয়, তাহলে রাজ্য ভয় বা বলপ্রয়োগ ছাড়াই শক্তিশালী থাকবে।" রাজা তার জ্ঞানী কথা শুনে গভীরভাবে মুগ্ধ হয়েছিলেন। তিনি বুঝতে পেরেছিলেন যে তিনিই দেশ পরিচালনার জন্য সেরা পছন্দ।

অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সাথে, রাজা রাজকন্যাকে পরবর্তী শাসক হিসাবে ঘোষণা করেছিলেন। রাজ্যের জনগণ আনন্দের সাথে এই সিদ্ধান্তকে স্বাগত জানিয়েছিল। তার শাসনামলে দেশ সমৃদ্ধ হয়েছিল, দারিদ্র্য হ্রাস পেয়েছিল এবং ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। রাজকন্যা একজন জ্ঞানী এবং করুণাময় নেত্রী হিসেবে প্রমাণিত হয়েছিল, সকলের কাছে প্রিয় এবং সম্মানিত। নীতি: প্রকৃত নেতৃত্ব আসে প্রজ্ঞা, দয়া এবং জনগণের চাহিদা সম্পর্কে গভীর ধারণা থেকে।
