A farmer and a donkey

Once a farmer had a donkey. He thought himself to be very clever. He used to carry heavy load of his master alone to a market which was on the other side of river. One morning when the donkey reached the river. He decided to make his journey shorten by wading across the water.

But at one stage e reached a very deep spot. He had to swim to cross the river. Fortunately, he was carrying sacks of salt on that day. So, a large portion of the salt diluted in the water. As a result the load became light became light and he could easily cross the river. He felt very proud of himself. He decided that next time onwards he would follow the same way.

But the monkey did not know that the next day he was carrying a load of sponger. When he reached the river, he started wading through the river. But this time the load became so heavy soaking water that the donkey drowned. Though he thought himself clever, really he is foolish. And for his foolishness, he died.

A Farmer and a Donkey

Once upon a time, there was a farmer who had a hardworking donkey. The donkey carried heavy loads for his master, helping him transport goods to the market across a river. The donkey was very loyal and did his work diligently, but he had a clever idea one day that would change everything.

One morning, as the donkey reached the river with a load of salt on his back, he thought of a way to make his journey shorter and easier. He decided to wade through the river instead of taking the usual, longer route. He thought that if he walked through the shallow parts of the river, he could avoid the tiring walk around it.

However, as he crossed the river, he found a deep spot. He was forced to swim, and as the salt sacks on his back became wet, a large portion of the salt dissolved in the water. As a result, the load became much lighter, and the donkey found it easier to swim across the river. He was pleased with himself for finding this shortcut and thought that he had come up with a brilliant idea.

Feeling proud of his cleverness, the donkey decided that next time he would take the same route to the river. He was eager to save time and energy, convinced that the trick of getting the salt wet had worked in his favor.

But the donkey didn’t realize that the next day, he was carrying a load of sponges instead of salt. When he reached the river again, he started wading through the water, just as he had done before. This time, however, the sponges soaked up the water, making the load much heavier instead of lighter. The more he waded through the river, the heavier the load became, and the donkey struggled under the weight.

Eventually, the load became so heavy that the donkey could no longer bear it. The waterlogged sponges dragged him down, and the donkey, unable to carry the weight, drowned in the river.

Though the donkey had thought himself to be clever, in reality, he had made a foolish decision. His desire to avoid work and take shortcuts led to his demise. The donkey's story teaches us that relying on tricks without thinking of the consequences can lead to failure and even disaster.

Thus, the donkey's greed for an easy way out cost him his life.

একজন কৃষক এবং একটি গাধা

অবশেষে, বোঝা এত ভারী হয়ে গেল যে গাধাটি আর তা সহ্য করতে পারলো না। জলে জমে থাকা স্পঞ্জগুলি তাকে টেনে নামিয়ে দিল এবং গাধাটি ওজন বহন করতে না পেরে নদীতে ডুবে গেল।

যদিও গাধাটি নিজেকে চালাক ভেবেছিল, বাস্তবে, সে একটি বোকামিপূর্ণ সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিল। কাজ এড়িয়ে যাওয়ার এবং শর্টকাট নেওয়ার তার ইচ্ছা তার মৃত্যুর দিকে পরিচালিত করেছিল। গাধার গল্প আমাদের শেখায় যে, পরিণতির কথা না ভেবে কৌশলের উপর নির্ভর করলে ব্যর্থতা এমনকি বিপর্যয়ও আসতে পারে।
