IF I WERE A MILLIONAIRE
Who does not want to be rich overnight? And the best way to achieve that is to win a lottery. With this idea in mind, I purchase lottery tickets regularly. I have always been optimistic and I am waiting for the day when fortune will actually smile on me.
I purchase lottery ticket for taka ten lac every month. Ten lac is really a fortune for a man like me. I have made a tentative plan for what I would do with the money, if I happen to be lucky to win it.
One thing that is most certain is that I would not spend my time counting the money I may happen to have. That is an occupation in which a miser finds pleasure. I, on the contrary, would spend freely because money that is stored in a chest does good to nobody.
As far as I am concerned, the thing that I will consider first is how I can satisfy and build up my own family by a portion of the money I have. I will utilize the necessary amount of wealth for the survival of the life and the improvement of the mind. And this will perhaps necessitate me to shift on to a new capacious house in a good residential area from the narrow squalid locality I live in now. That will elevate the minds of my family members to a great extent.
Then I would like to spend a good amount for a trip abroad. I have my uncle in London and it is my desire to visit him once. I would also like to visit European cities like Paris, Hamburg, Bonn, Zurich and some other places. I have read much about these places. I have a pen friend in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. I wish to give him a surprise visit there. I have no idea how much it would cost me; still I hope it will be around Tk. 5,00,000/- all inclusive.
Â
I will also bear in mind some other duties of mine ---- both as a citizen of an independent country and on humanitarian grounds. I have earmarked Tk. 1,00,000/- to be handed over to charity home of Mother Teresa. Again, I think it would not be proper to donate a few thousands to the local primary school I started my schooling. The financial position of my club is always bad; therefore, helping it with a few thousands in the form of fixed deposits would be a good idea. Last but not the least, I would like to have a gala feast with my friends at my cost at a restaurant such as, Meridian or Bonanza. I shall now be left with a big amount which I propose to put in a bank to cover my educational and personal expenses.
With all these exciting ideas already chalked out, I anxiously wait for the memorable day when luck would favour me with the great fortune.
