Columbus is an important name in the history of discovery. He became a sailor in his boyhood and traveled to many parts of Europe and Africa, including the British island, Iceland, etc. There, he came in contact with many people and saw a vast sheet of unlimited water, wishing to voyage there. However, such a voyage would require good ships. Columbus sought help from King Ferdinand, but in vain. He then went to the Queen of Spain, who helped him.

Completing Story:

The Crow and the Peacock

Once upon a time, a crow lived in a beautiful forest and was completely content with its life. The crow enjoyed the freedom to fly wherever it pleased and never felt the need to complain.

One day, the crow saw a swan gliding gracefully on a lake. "The swan’s feathers are so white and pure," thought the crow. "Compared to my black feathers, the swan must be the happiest bird in the world."

Curious, the crow approached the swan and shared its thoughts. "Dear Swan, your white feathers are so beautiful. You must be the happiest bird alive."

The swan smiled and replied, "I used to think I was the happiest bird. But then, I saw a parrot with its bright green and red feathers. It seemed so much more vibrant than I am. Now, I believe the parrot is the happiest bird."

Determined to find true happiness, the crow flew off to find the parrot. When it found one perched on a branch, the crow expressed its admiration. "Parrot, you have such vibrant colors. Surely, you must be the happiest bird in the forest."

The parrot tilted its head and responded, "I was happy with my two colors until I saw a peacock. The peacock has so many beautiful colors. Compared to it, my feathers are dull. I think the peacock is the happiest bird of all."

Eager to see the peacock, the crow flew to the zoo where it heard one lived. True to the parrot’s words, the peacock was breathtaking. Hundreds of visitors had gathered around to admire its multicolored feathers.

After the crowd left, the crow approached the peacock. "Peacock," it said, "you are the most beautiful bird I’ve ever seen. People come from far and wide just to look at you. You must be the happiest bird on Earth."

The peacock sighed and said, "Thank you for your kind words, Crow. I once thought I was the happiest bird because of my beauty. But my beauty has confined me to this zoo. I cannot fly freely like you. Every day, I wish I were a crow so I could soar through the skies without being trapped in a cage."

Hearing this, the crow realized its mistake. It had been so focused on comparing itself to others that it had overlooked the freedom and joy it already had. From that day on, the crow decided to embrace its life and stopped wishing to be someone else.

Moral

Happiness comes from valuing what you have, not comparing yourself to others. True contentment lies in appreciating your unique blessings rather than longing for what others possess.

The Foolish Crow

The crows are not attractive and often feel unhappy about their appearance. They long to be beautiful but do not know how to achieve it. One day, a crow stumbled upon an opportunity to fulfill this wish.

While wandering in the jungle, the crow found some vibrant and beautiful peacock feathers. Delighted by her discovery, she thought to herself, “Now I can transform myself into a beautiful peacock!” Excited by the idea, she replaced her dull, black feathers with the colorful peacock feathers, leaving her natural feathers behind.

Overjoyed with her new appearance, she decided to return to her flock with a grand plan—to present herself as extraordinary and unique. When she arrived, the other crows were startled. They could not recognize her and were initially frightened.

To calm them, the crow proclaimed, “Don’t be afraid! I am the king of birds, and I have come to see how my subjects are doing.” Awed by her appearance and confident words, the other crows believed her. They bowed before her, and the disguised crow successfully became the king of birds through her trickery.

However, as nature dictates, the truth eventually comes to light. One day, while bathing, the crow shook herself too vigorously. The peacock feathers fell off, revealing her true form. The other crows, realizing they had been deceived, began mocking and insulting her, calling her out for her lies.

The crow, humiliated and ashamed, realized her folly. She had tried to be someone she was not, and in doing so, lost the trust and respect of her peers.

Moral

Deception never lasts. Pretending to be something you are not will eventually lead to embarrassment and failure. Be honest and embrace who you truly are.

A Crow and A Peacock

Once upon a time, in a lush and lively forest, there lived a crow and a peacock. They were vastly different in appearance, but both carried dreams and desires in their hearts.

The peacock was celebrated throughout the forest for its striking beauty. Its feathers were an enchanting array of vibrant colors that shimmered in the sunlight, making it the pride of the woodland creatures. The peacock loved to display its magnificent plumage and often basked in the admiration of others.

The crow, on the other hand, was plain and unremarkable in comparison. Its feathers were black and lacked the dazzling brilliance of the peacock’s. Though the crow lived a simple life, it often gazed at the peacock with envy and a sense of inadequacy.

One bright morning, unable to hold back its feelings, the crow approached the peacock. “Dear Peacock,” it said, “your beauty is beyond words, and I cannot help but admire you. But it also makes me sad because I am not as vibrant or striking. I feel plain and unworthy next to you.”

The peacock, rather than boasting, looked at the crow kindly and said, “Dear Crow, thank you for your kind words, but you should know something important. While my feathers are indeed beautiful, they do not define my worth, and they do not bring me all the happiness in the world. You see, each of us has unique qualities that make us special.”

Surprised, the crow asked, “What qualities do I have that could compare to your beauty?”

The peacock smiled and replied, “You, dear Crow, have a voice that is unmatched. Your melodious songs can fill the forest with joy and uplift everyone who hears them. While I may have colorful feathers, I cannot sing like you. Your voice is a gift that I could only dream of having.”

The crow stood silent for a moment, realizing it had been so focused on the peacock’s appearance that it had failed to see its own talent. Inspired by the peacock’s words, the crow decided to embrace its gift. From that day on, it sang with pride, filling the forest with beautiful melodies. Its songs brought happiness to the creatures of the forest, and for the first time, the crow felt a deep sense of fulfillment and joy.

The crow no longer wished to be like the peacock, for it had learned to appreciate its own unique qualities. It understood that everyone has something special to offer and that true happiness comes from embracing who you are.

Moral

Happiness lies in celebrating your unique qualities and talents rather than comparing yourself to others.

A Crow and A Peacock
