A letter to friend about Bangladesh

April 10, 2021

Mirpur,

Dhaka

Dear friend,

I am writing to you to tell you about the beauty of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a country that is blessed with natural beauty and resources, from its lush greenery to its numerous rivers, forests, and wildlife. It is truly a nature lover's paradise.

One of the most famous places in Bangladesh is Cox's Bazar Sea Beach, which is known for its picturesque natural beauty, sandy beaches, and the shimmering expanse of water of the Bay of Bengal. It is also one of the few places in the world where you can watch both the sunrise and the sunset from the beach.

The Shundarbans is another popular destination in Bangladesh, being the largest mangrove forest in the world. Here, you can see Royal Bengal Tigers, various species of deer, monkeys, and elephants. The beauty of the Shundori tree is truly exceptional, and the numerous types of birds in the area always charm tourists.

Srimangal is famous for its tea gardens and the Seven Layered tea. Jaflong, on the other hand, is known as the land of stones, with the Mari River being a well-known spot for its transparent glass-like water. You can even see the ground of the river from the top of the water!

In short, Bangladesh is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and green fields. There are so many beautiful places to see and experience, from its numerous historical sites to its breathtaking natural beauty.

I hope you get a chance to visit this amazing country soon.

Yours lovingly,

Hasan

A letter to friend about Bangladesh

Mirpur,

Dhaka

Got your lovely note! Glad to hear everyone's doing well. You asked about my country, so here's a little something about Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is pretty neat, with about 130 million folks living here. It's like nature's favorite child, drawing people in with its stunning beauty. We've got loads of villages, all connected by rivers. And get this, we've got six seasons! Each one brings its own charm, changing up the scenery in cool ways.

Now, let me tell you about some of the cool places here. We've got the Hill Tracts in Chittagong, tea gardens in Sylhet, and the famous Royal Bengal Tigers chilling in the Sundarbans. Plus, there's Cox’s Bazar, home to the world's largest sea beach! And don't forget about the historic spots like Comilla, Lalbag, and Paharpur.

All these spots attract tourists from all over. Especially places like the Sundarbans forest and Cox’s Bazar beach – they're like nature's masterpieces. Picture golden crops, green fields, babbling streams, towering hills, sparkling lakes, colorful flowers, and birds singing sweet tunes. It's like a wonderland here!

Oh, and our culture and literature? They're heavily influenced by all this natural beauty. Pretty cool, right?

So, that's a little taste of Bangladesh for you. Hope it helps you picture what it's like here. And hey, I'd love to invite you to come check out these tourist hotspots sometime!

Catch you later, and all the best!

Yours lovingly,

Hasan

My dear Bang,

Thank you so much for your kind letter. I hope you and your family are doing well. I'm also in good health. I'm delighted to hear that you're interested in learning about our homeland. Allow me to give you a brief overview.

Bangladesh is a small, independent country located on the Bay of Bengal in Asia. We share borders with Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and India. Our nation came into existence in 1971 after a hard-fought struggle. We have a land area of 147,570 square kilometers, and our population is around 160 million, making us one of the most densely populated countries in the world.

Our mother tongue is Bangla, and we hold our language in high regard. The language movement of 1952 was a significant event in our history. Bangladesh is known for its lush greenery and flat terrain. The Padma, Meghna, and Jamuna rivers are the lifelines of our country, and our soil is fertile, ideal for growing crops like rice, jute, and tea.

We experience six seasons, with spring being hailed as the queen of all seasons. The people of Bangladesh are known for their hospitality, friendliness, and hard work ethic. Cox's Bazar boasts the world's longest sea beach, and the Sundarbans are the largest mangrove forest globally.

Kazi Nazrul Islam is revered as our National Poet, and our climate is characterized by a pleasant balance between hot and cold. Our culture, arts, literature, language, and social customs are rich and diverse. Bangladesh is a harmonious blend of Muslims, Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists living together peacefully.

Our land is also abundant in birdlife and colorful flowers. People wake up to the delightful chirping of birds every morning.

I would love to hear more about your homeland. Please write back soon.

With warm regards,

Zohirul Mamun
